Regarding regionalized pricing, TGC simply doesn't want to do that for the community's sake. Many, many games, whether service-based or offline games, offer regionalized pricing, so TGC just doesn't want that.

Not disagreeing, just for context, TGC explained the reasoning behind the absence of regional pricing. It requires them to introduce "regions" and that would apparently divide the playerbase into chunks and only enable them to play with people in their own region. Which begs the question "isn't it possible through their website" if they cannot do that in the game

I accept that the invisible cape is made available through spells; however, I find it extremely problematic to restrict it to the end of Eden, forcing players to go to the Eye of Eden every time they want to purchase a spell — especially when the spell lasts only 30 minutes and, even when buying the maximum of 7, it will be used up in a very short amount of time. This makes the system completely unfeasible.

You can ping me in your replies! No worries if it's a habit you made. In my experience the stress of a grinding mindset made me avoid socializing altogether. My friends have told me something similar. At one point I started treating any bug or any person trying to actually have fun as interruptive. I was completely immersed in the idea of having enough candles to the point I forgot what Sky was supposed to be like. I often wonder if I should blame myself or the higher ups of TGC for deciding Sky should be one way or another.

Journey on the other hand removes communication except calls and it works wonderfully. I feel content and happy knowing my path would cross with someone else. I don't have to stress about any cosmetic taking the center of my mind and wiring me to grind without any break. Just pure bliss, the sound of the wind and the sunset.

It feels as if TGC is trying to ride the wave of the excitement coming from Journey, as if they're saying "hey, do you remember this game we made back in 2013, we are doing it again!", but without understanding why it made Journey so good in the first place. Had this game not been live service I feel TGC would have done a lot more for Sky and would have done it all much better - visually, gameplay-wise, how to adopt or improve upon what made Journey successful...

I don't know. I have a lot to say but at the same time I feel I no longer have enough words to explain what I mean. It stings seeing a game I used to cherish so much, go down the path of endless collabs and hollows out the core material even more than it is. It's so bad. So, so bad.

Maybe comparison is the thief of joy, and maybe I'm just inexperienced as a gamer ... but I really love Sky. I can see some of the problems you're pointing out, for sure, but hey they give us for free a game that for me is beautiful, and social in a good way (mostly), and seems to promote an ethos of cooperation over competition. Eden is the epitome of this: you have to die in order to liberate others. And, yeah, on the side there are great cosmetics, etc., but you can play as much as you want and as socially as you want and it can all be OK.

i’d like to give my own two cents as a respectful participant in the conversation. sky has always had multicultural themes, we’ve had seasons inspired by other cultures (season of dreams, season of flight, season of prophecy, season of gratitude, etc) so having an event based on the lunar new year really isn’t that odd. like you said, sky is a global game. for it to be global, is to include events from cultures, even non-western ones

I think the confusion comes from interpretation. Days of Mischief and Days of Feast are clearly inspired by Halloween and Christmas, but TGC doesnt directly label Days of collor as pride. It’s obviously inspired by pride month, but they keep it broad so players can interpret it differently lol
Some see it as Pride, others just see it as celebrating color and diversity, and both views can exist
