Streamlining can be really good, but I find issue with it in this case since accessing that information is a lot more tedious now depending on your platform. Mobile players have it best since the news is still embedded, but every other platform now has to leave Sky for it.

In the grand scheme of things, the impact is probably quite small and more of an inconvenience than anything else

I do feel the login screen is much less appealing now, it feels barren and sad just seeing a play button on a vast expanse of water

I also feel that the message itself was a unique way to add a little charm, a lot of games do have their own message systems, I think most of which are automated and you'll probably see the same messages repeat after a while, I'm sure I saw several of the same messages over the years with Sky - but they still added a nice touch

The most inconvenient part of the removal is the lack of season countdown, having to open the season guide tree to see the days left isn't a massive hardship, but if I wanted to check quickly before then all I had to do was open the app and see it before logging in, now I'd have to login and run to the guide to open their tree. This alone will make me much more likely to rely on external information like asking the community here for how long is left, so honestly I feel this change will have the opposite effect than what tgc hoped for

As for the removal of the socials, I don't feel like it bothers me so much either way, but given how much information is in places like sky discord or their other social platforms, I think having those in a prominent place helped players know where to go to find sky communities. Information will still be present in game via the notice board in aviary/news tab, but having to look to see which socials tgc are on to find sky communities is probably a bit of a hassle without quick tapping a button

In any case, personally I anticipate adapting eventually, but I'll find the changes frustrating for a while

The scale values are causing slight differences from player to player. Scale and height are different, so using spells that change height will look slightly different to players with different scales, even if the height is the same. Scale is randomly determined at character creation when you first log into Sky and cannot be changed. There is a temporary spell that allows you to change both height and scale, and you can use them at the same time for more extreme effects.

The scale varies and is not something that players can permanently change, but is determined randomly at account creation. This causes minor variations in size from player to player. Including scale, there can be over 4000 sizes. This means that anyone can achieve minimum and maximum height, regardless of scale. Simply put: "Height ≠ Scale ≠ Size", "Height + Scale = Size".

So, with so many options, it's unlikely that you'll get the height you want right away using Resize Potion. In addition, Resize Potion is not a means to achieve a specific height, but is a specification that has been introduced with the hope that you can use it regularly and enjoy the results.

The difference in size due to scale is very small. Just as people of the same height but with different builds and outfits may not appear to be the same height in the real world, people with the same height may not look exactly the same on Sky due to scale, clothing, etc., but they can be recognized side by side. There will be slight differences. These differences are by design, and there are currently no plans to allow players to change the scale using anything other than temporary magic. We would like to respect the size of Sky kid as an individuality. I hope you understand.

thank you! I was thinking largely the same. The past 6 or so years Sky has been out, a lot of players relied on the countdowns and the socials being on the play screen, and naturally it had built a habit, where, to access this info you'd either have to restart the game or memorize when it'd end and run a quiet calculation in your mind. I do share the sentiment that the login screen is less appealing. It looks cold and uninviting.

I'd personally disagree on the impact being quite small - while it's not gonna take as much time to go to Aviary and get info on what's scheduled - it will surely add up and turn into being a major inconvenience when it's a daily thing people have to look for. I share that I found the little messages charming as well, to maybe eliminate the problem of repeating messages, writing in tips to help people out on elements they can't add tutorials for, would have been a nice change.

I think it was an oversight on TGC's end that they forgot how players build habits with the games they play, and maybe didn't expect that MOTD would turn into a significant part of it. Sometimes I wonder if a forced-kind-of-tutorial that shows up a couple of times would help in replacing the said habit, but that sounds like trouble for TGC and trouble for playerbase.

I'm not fond of having to go to Aviary, then open a separate website for platforms other than mobile - and advocate for all game-related information to be directly accessible in the game in relevant places. My question basically comes down to whether the season counter couldn't have existed both in Aviary board and in the login screen as well; hunting for information is frustrating and I'd rather not give up on a non-problematic habit when the alternatives sound very unpleasant.

I'd imagine they wanted the elder manta for higher power. We see in the two embers that their entire cities are powered by light (And King Resh's palace never once loses power, i noticed...)
So it was likely an experiment gone wrong, much like the smaller krill themselves.
