However, if a skykid/crab steps on it, it springs up, knocking the skykid away, and draining their light as a krill would. Dunno, just think it’s kinda cool B) (My skykid doesn’t like it)

Two strikingly similar looking Children of the Light sit by the crab grill hidden away in a corner of the Wasteland Graveyard.

"What were you doing standing in the open?! Did you learn nothing from the Stealthy Survivor?" Twei is very disappointed at the other's stupidity.

"I know, it's just... I'm sorry..." Zwai's voice trails off.

For someone who just got saved, she's too depressed, Twei observes. Better than being obnoxious and ungrateful, but still a bad response. "Were you trying to off yourself?" Straight to the point.

Zwai replies with silence. Raising an eyebrow, Twei assumes that means yes, but why?

Zwai starts to vent. "My partner—he always sacrifices his Light to make sure I make it to the Vault. Despite that, he still keeps getting reborn. That's a relief, but what hurts me is he never remembers me or anything we've been through. I went as far as hate him so he won't think twice about leaving me to save himself, but he still continues to give up his Light for me. If he exists only to be eaten by Darkness, then I might as well be in the Darkness with him."

"Huh" Twei scoffs, amused. Apparently Zwai had been trying to bring her partner with her to the Light so he'd be reborn with memories, but now she's given up and wants to join him in his demise. "You're lucky you get to try again many times, you know? I busted my only chance and now I live alone."

Twei stands up from her seat and offers a candle to her pseudo-twin. "I'll help you next time you travel with him. There's not much I can do to kill time since I have no one to hang out with anyway."

Helping a friend in need (♂️ ver). #thatskyartprompt

Noin sits quietly by a fallen pillar not far from the Wasteland Temple, curled up and head down. He feels a presence come up to him—Fiyer, the fellow Child of the Light he befriended earlier at the end of the Hidden Forest.

"Noin! What happened?" Fiyer asks, confused and worried. After a short pause he realizes, "Zwai—where is she?" Noin's hands and shoulders tense up at the mention of his partner's name. It doesn't take long for Fiyer to piece things together. "Oh crab, pardon me..."

As Noin's thoughts spiral around Zwai's final moments and what he could've done to change it, he feels his body get pulled and held, and the next thing he knows is Fiyer is carrying him on his shoulders. Noin feels he doesn't deserve the good air and view from the height, so he simply buries his face in his friend's hair.

The ambient sound changes from open to enclosed. They must've entered the temple. He has no idea how Fiyer had to make a run for the gate to avoid the Dark Dragons. Candles are lit, and then he is put down on a platform. His friend looks at him with worried eyes. "Come on, you talked a lot when we were in the Valley. Now's also a great time to talk, so speak up."

Noin honestly tries to speak up, but instead he bursts into tears, sobbing through his words. "Zwai, she... she... I should've... been... the one instead... I failed... She won't be reborn... Gone forever because..."

It's a given that once a Child of the Light dies nowhere near the Eye of Eden, the chances of that Child being reborn is slim, and those who do get reborn don't have memories of their past lives. There's not much Fiyer could do but make Noin feel his comforting presence. "I've seen too many of us perish there too, but I'm here, and now you're here. We just have to keep on going for those who were eaten by the Darkness."

So I finally had a writing muse for this snippet. This is how I imagined my skykid, Hikari, felt as I played through Sky for the first time.

Walking the lone wanderer's path was what she chose.

Hikari remembered when she first woke up, confused. She felt the same way when she gained her ability to fly.

Worried about the cooling rain in the forest. Terrified of the krills and the crabs that resided in the wasteland.

But she pushed forward alone. Hikari was skittish. She wasn't afraid of being with others for a bit, but too long and she'd start to move along past them.

But after clearing the vault, and seeing both the gate to the home isle and the barrier, her fear spiked as she hurriedly went through the home gate, terrified. Hikari spent the next few days exploring the other realms, trying to distract herself.

One night, Hikari sat on top of the alcoves on the home isle, watching the red glow of the open gate. Eden, she heard the place being called. It still made her freeze up.

She looked at the others, some happily messing around, others chatting, and of course, entering the area of their choosing. That's when she felt a surge of courage go through her.

Hikari hopped off her ledge, and jogged her way to the gate. She had pushed through her fear to get through the wasteland. What made this any different?

So my moth friend gave her skykid a name, but isn't in the server. I asked her if I can write an interaction between her character Eliss and Hikari, and she said yes, so here it is.

Night had fallen on the world as Hikari sat at her spot in the home isle above the alcoves. It was oddly quiet, with everyone in the vault to rest. The unspoken rule was to never activate the elevator.

Hikari preferred to rest under the night sky. Light didn't bother her or anyone else. Sleep was a luxury, and it was a nice luxury. It helped everyone unwind after a long time flying through realms and the occasional guiding for the moths.

That's when the lone light saw the new one on the main stone. Making her way down, recognizing the familiar hair and cape of what was known as a moth.

Well, she couldn't leave this person alone.

"Hey there. What's your name?"

"...I'm Eliss."

"Hi, Eliss. My name's Hikari. Wanna be friends?"

Eliss couldn't help but smile. "Sure."

Suddenly a glimpse of herself was shown infront of her, having a mischievous smile with, a black, it, looks like a krill have grabbed her with their legs to her back. Reina's reflection opens her mouth carefully, proceeding to say the following word,
