There was a dream I've had a long time ago. There was a hidden, secret route in the Eye of Eden, obscured by clouds. The player flew through the clouds and had traveled as fast as they were when they were entering the Golden Wasteland through the vortex. They had ended up in an area with a tree, that had a lake under it's pink leaves. There were butterflies circling the tree and the moonlight was serene. Orbit was visable, and was bright under the full moon. I wanted to recreate the dreamy feeling with my character in the form of a sketch.

Oh wow.. this looks beautiful! I can tell you put a lot of effort in, I love it!
The mantas are very majestic I feel they would glow a bit more but you definitely got the way they move and the base down! And the sort of calm on the character sets the mood in like the skids been doin this for years. The background is simple but because it is it draws you into the main manta and its rider! I love it a lot keep up the amazing work!

I don’t know if anyone remembers me posting about my concept season back in early 2021 but I’ve gained motivation again and picked it back up!!
I revised it to be called Season of Ambitions since it was previously named Season of Flight- and then the actual season of flight came out 8 months later but I think the name change fits even better for this concept season and the trials and lessons it’ll take you through in the Valley of Triumph!!
I can’t wait to fully finish designing the realm, spirits and their season trees, the music sheet that I’m almost done with, the honk, the quests, and more!!

As someone just getting into pixel art, do you recommend any programs over others?

i use Aseprite, its 20$ and is one of the greatest softwares for pixel art (in my opinion lol ) and is fairly beginner friendly (it also should have the most online tutorials for you to use.). as for free options, ive heard GraphicsGale is a good option, though i haven't given it a try yet, i have seen some people make really great stuff with it! its up to you which one you want to start with really. Hope this helps!
