I made a “poetic” re-telling of a sky kid:

as a kid I was born into the sky
I was flung into an isle of dawn,
A beautiful desert that leads to an even more beautiful day lit prairie.
I thought life was so easy and beautiful.
But then I stepped into the rain.
The hidden forest while beautiful took my light away from me.
But there were creatures there;
Creatures of glass that restored my light and helped me along the way.
Having reached the end I entered into a valley of triumph,
I thought that all my problems were over as I raced along with my fellow sky kids down the summits of the valley.
But it was simply a break before the real terror.
The triumph did not last,
As everyone must, I was forced to travel the golden wasteland.
There were ‘things’ there
Shadows that feed on your light.
They rip it from you.
But they weren’t the only terrors there:
The water, the thing that symbolizes peace and restoration; was poison
It syphons your light and forced you into a state of constant fleeing through this wasteland.
But it was all worth it
After stumbling through the wasteland
I made it to the vault of knowledge
The vault opened its secrets to all who reached its doors.
I found myself reaching new levels
But maybe I went too far…
Instead of being able to hold onto the knowledge, I was forced to give it up
And walk through the very eye of Eden || I tried my best to hold onto my light in a land determined to extinguish it.
I lost my light and I lost my way
I though I had met the end
But I awoke once more
Not quite whole
And I walked toward the light.
And as I embraced the light I was restored.
But I was still stuck in this place of in-between and I was still lost.
But I was not alone
The many spirits that I met along my way guided me into a star filled world.
I was told that it was time for me to be reborn.
But they gave me a parting gift
They gave me light.
And as I stepped through the portal || I came to the conclusion that I am a child of the light
