When you unlock a new tier with Ascended Candles, it gives you a wing buff, which is an extra wing for after you rebirth. Spirits give off an orange tint when ascended, so that's how I know you havent gotten it from Performer yet.

Let's just hope the bug isn't fixed by then lol. When traveling spirits come, they offer cosmetics, emote upgrades, spells, a wing buff, and a heart. Even if I'm not interested in cosmetics, I always make sure to buy everything else, and maybe emote upgrades if I'd use them.
If you don't get the heart, then the only other place you'd get them is from other spirits, old season guides, and heart trades. Once you run out of places to buy them from permanent spirits, you'll have to rely on heart trades and not everyone is interested.
