Ima try type it out

I recently got accepted into Ga tech through the talent initiative pathway program, honestly, i wasn't expecting it all. Georgia tech has been one of my top-choice school for a long time, so when I found out I got in, I literally cried

Now my problem

Im from florida, and my family is low/middle income. We're a household of 5 making around 90k -98k a year, so cost a very real factor for me.

I got admitted to my state school, FSU for management information system. Thanks to bright futures, i mostly only have pay around9k-10k for housing and food which comes to about 38k for 4 years.
But if decide to transfer to Ga tech and spend the remaining 3 years there, I'd be paying around 35k-36k/year which would likely total 130k+ with housing and other expensive

From what I have heard ga tech has very has a very well-regarded business school (US News ranks it #5 for my major), and being in Atlanta opens up a lot of opportunities for co-ops, internships, networking, and jobs, especially in business/tech fields.

If I stick with FSU and go into IT consulting or systems analysis, I’d probably make around 55k/year starting out. If I go to Georgia Tech, that number could be 75k–85k/year.

I really want to know your opinion: should I accept my full ride to FSU and graduate with almost no debt, or take the risk of Georgia Tech for the potential higher salary but end up with 130k+ in debt (not including loan interest)?

at the end of the day

#

even if your starting is higher at tech, thats 130k plus interest that youd havr to pay back

#

in terms of FSU, that's not even a guaruntee that youll start in the 50s, it could be mid 60s to low-70s

#

By the time you wouldve paid off the tech de,bt you would have progressed far enough into your career where the degree won't matter

Make the most of opportunities wherever you decide to go though.

If you want to at least try to fund your transfer here, grind scholarships.

Especially any local ones.
