It was removed, along the Scion FR-S, during the time Toyota didn't want their cars in non-japanese racing games.

But, despite having given up on that idea a longe time ago and allowing their cars to be added to any racing game, they won't give GL the license because the Asphalt games aren't strickly simulations, the same reason Lexus (which belongs to Toyota) and Audi won't appear or add more models to the A8 and A9, as GL said that in the 2020 Asphalt 9 car polls.

If that’s the case, then the R8 and R8 SE should’ve been removed a long time ago.
