Share your shit. I'll show something I've been working on later.
I just do full sentences with only 1 new word
For words with multiple meanings, ill just have a different sentence for each meaning of that word
Oh yeah that's the shit
So i know which meaning it is off context
nice to know
How do you keep track of new words though?
I also turn the interval modifier up
Which results in less reviews
While still maintaining 85% retention in the long term
I just do my reviews everyday
what do u mean exactly
Finding new words to add you mean?
No I mean if you come up on a word you don't know, how do you check you don't already have it in the deck? Or do you just add it again regardless?
Yeah but it can have more meanings... Anyway yeah it should be NP i guess
Yeah if i read the word and it makes no sense in the sentence ill assume its a different meaning
then ill add it
my listening i just did watching various stuff
mostly movie or kdrama or youtube
like 2~3 hours per day average over the past 2.5 years
I have made some cards that have audio file on the front
and sentence with meaning on the back
But not alot
Blue is listening, Red is reading
Then spent like 490 hours on anki
Do you have a picture for every Word?
I do, if its from a source that has visual
like a show or a webtoon
if its from a novel i dont have picture
And is it spoilery on the card or visible?
👍👍 good stuff
Was thinkin start with building some vocab
then present sentences using those learned vocab
And in those sentences slowly work in grammar
And keep building on top of what's already been learned
To make the progression of learning intuitive and as painless as possible
Try not to have to big jumps in difficulty
(Might also experiment with having 2 cards for each word. One with audio on the front, and one with text on the front)
Have you managed to connect something like naver dictionary with anki to automatically load the sounds for words?
I have a setup where i can just click a button, play the audio and click the button again
and it saves the audio file
I also have a decent text to speech site that doesnt sound too bad
Lots of options to get the audio
(Sadly I don't know of an Anki addon that automatically retrieves native audio)
There is an addon like that for Japanese cause Japanese learners get all the cool gadgets
@vestal marsh r u using the leaderboard addon? if so we're in group with incog - "Korean"
I tried to get into anki so many times but I just don't find it engaging. Any tips on staying consistent with vocab review?
Stream it in VC. It's way more fun when you have more people do it with you. True for learning in general.
