Thoughts on ASMR Stream Controversy & Suggestion for (If There's a) Next Time

I like the ASMR and tbh in hindsight I'm kinda glad it was actual ASMR and not abber demon stuff

I like to wear headphones during these to enhance the experience and the other "ASMR" streams my ears hurt, blame that on me I guess, but getting real ASMR instead of let's be real here, a joke ASMR abber demon stream makes my ears hurt less

tbh when the only "complaint" is that it wasn't joke ASMR then I think the segment went over pretty well

It was actual ASMR, which actually surprised me when I joined the stream. We also got some Abber Demon every now and then so there was variety there. It was overall pretty chill and entertaining. Because that is the point of an ASMR segment

Honestly, I'd rather have 5 hours of this kind of content than 5 hours of "I don't have any normal content so Neuro plays a game," don't get me wrong, but 4-8 hours of this kind of content every day is too much, and the fact that "real" content gets the rest of the time is disappointing.
Another thing is that, as an ASMR, it was pretty low-quality content, but I was expecting that quality. I hope this wasn't a one-off and there will be more.

Well, maybe you. I hoped for an actual ASMR. I think it would be ass if we got yet another Abber Demon stream with ASMR label. There is a reason it was a subathon goal, and not just a random stream thrown in as a filler content. I think it would be reasonable to assume this stream was supposed to be a new content?

i liked it, i wasnt really expecting abber demon but we still got some of her, i usually keep my expectations for this channel pretty low recently so i doubt there was a way for me to be disappointed by this stream, but it still was significantly better than i would have imagined, lots of funny moments

yeah, it wasn't anything special, I didn't expect it to be actual ASMR, with different voices for each ear, triggers etc
but Evil with softer, quieter voice already did pretty well

I liked it at most i was expecting a "Pirate theme" stream repeat where its the lowest of efforts. I found it very relaxing. The background noise being rainfall as well wasnt expecting. Yes my bar is so low

My two cents on this matter is that I expected, wanted, and would've preferred an abber stream (and I find it pretty disingenous to act like the people who felt that way were unreasonable considering that is the literal only precedent for an Evil ASMR stream)

BUT

The voice change was cool, and you can't really be too mad that the ASMR stream ended up being, you know, an ASMR stream. I think it'd be a cool toggle for Evil to have for her TTS going forward. I'm not personally interested in more ASMR only streams because it gives me the ick but I don't feel that strongly about it either way

as pointed out, the abber demon stream was not labeled as asmr, that was a joke perpetuated by the community, ergo I would argue saying it's a precedent is disingenuous, as it was never labeled that to begin with and essentially became an in joke

I think Abber Demon is dead, sadly, and has been for a while.

Abber appeared in the 2023 subathon and again a few months later with Goddess Neuro, but both times it wasn't quite the same. The scuff was much more watered down compared to the original Abber stream.

I'm not sure what changed and am not knowledgeable enough about the technology behind it to speculate. But I vaguely recall Vedal saying something about how Abber Demon would be trickier to do now, for some reason.

The irony is that the original Abber stream was arguably closer to actual ASMR than the Evil breathy voice stream.

This was a simple concept but I really enjoyed it -- the voice and the background sfx were nice and comfy -- and it made the yapping segment fun and fresh

it is simply a fact that being disappointed it wasn't an abber demon stream is being disappointed at your own imagination
