#Swarm Sync issues
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
If I click the resync button, something happens for exactly one frame and then nothing actually is fixed.
it showed error, now the lamp just pooped up after refresh from cloud
im glad the resync button is getting good use but i wish the tuya backend would just only give me a response when pairing is done
My job is done, hell i wasted 4 hours i could have used to do homework
can you copy logs of a session where you tried to pair and such pls :^)
we all appreciate your help you've done

Is the lamp supposed to keep blinking red till paired
itll blink red for a while, stopping after some time or if it gets wifi credentials and pairs
So from what i understand clicking the magical “force resync” button make it work
hmmmm ok just trying to pair mine
oh yeah crap i forgot i pressed that as well
i added that resync button to try and make ghost devices vanish but they magically made devices appear 🤔
Worked for me
it will blink red for like 10 secs stop and then my phone cant find it

can you also try the magical force resync button
click maybe later, settings tab, troubleshooting mode on, then there's a resync devices button
1K
I haven't been able to get to sync and I am not seeing the force resync
troubleshooting mode is on? both ios and android should have it now so maybe app is out of date
I will try to updated it then
I did sucefully connect with Tuya then I go on Swarm Sync and try to connect it ?
If it still fails, then go to settings, enable troubleshooting mode and click force resync
ok thanks !
I got it connected just had to reinstall the app thanks for the help guys
Not sure what happened but suddenly Neurolamp is detected and fully working out of the blue, didn't do anything and have 5G Wifi
getting this exact error to, any fix ?
click trubleshooting and then refresh from cloud
With swarm sync?
Yes

@topaz willow I wanna ask, since you developed the app, has Vedal himself experienced this problem?
no
thank, you i already did that like 300 hundred time, but since you said it i did it again and it fucking work

neither of us ran into this issue in our own testing lol

Im not even sure what to write on the FAQ anymore
im starting to think when i get that strange blank object response I should just add a screen that lets you easily click a button to try and resync
since it appears to be fixing 99% of the problems when that issue occurs
lol
Thank the Machine Spirit for blessing my lamp, thanks for everyone that helped try troubleshoot
Yea just add more magic buttons
Please do
magic button will be played directly in front of user instead of in settings
(in both, actually)
i have no idea why some android devices do this weird return early thing but other android devices wait properly, so strange
Magic seems to be your main strengthen as a WoW fan

Still getting the same error pretty much.
What about a magic button that changes lamps color periodically
lol
if your app is up to date, can you also try the resync device button in settings, troubleshooitng mode on to see it
Done that quite a bit. I think it may be an net work issue.
has somebody gotten it to work with eduroam?
also question, have you tried pairing on the tuya app? i cant recall if we tried this step with your issue
We did, and yeah it works.
Here
Sorry what’s an eduroam?
can you update the app? looks like an outdated version
im not seeing a few logs that should be there if it's fully updated
it's an international Wi-Fi internet access roaming service for users in university
What was your issue again?
I can't get it setup. I think its because im entering the wrong password to the internet question, because there isn't a password
Oh I did not know that.
You are in an university? Are u able to call someone responsible for IT and ask if they could provide you a password?
i dont think eduroam has a password at all would be my guess
like an unprotected network
So he has no way to get his lava lamp to work 😭
it might work with a blank password and another issue might be the problem? hard to tell
can you make sure the app is updated then copy logs from a session where you tried pairing the lamp and it failed? also a screenshot of the error you see when trying
logs are under settings tab > troubleshooting mode > copy debug logs

I uninstalled the app a few times so it should be updated?
what error are you experiencing? it doesnt look like the same as the others since there's no blank response from the bluetooth pairing response in the logs (unless it got cut off?)
if its updated can you try to repair again and copy logs again?
Sure, will do in a sec.
Bluetooth is on , this error happen when I try to connect the lamp on Swarm Sync
It says the last update was on the 27th so it should be updated.
Hello all. Unfortunately I can’t pair lamp with my iPhone. I tried using Tuya app and it doesn’t detect it either. Just blinks for around 20 seconds and turns green. What are my options?
Same solution, update your swarm sync app, attempt to pair, if fails, go to settings, turn on the troubleshooting mode and click force resync
can you screenshot the UI of the error?
are you using a 5G network? that's one issue I know can fail on both tuya app and swarmsync app
Weird as for many 5G failed for swarm sync but not tuya
I’m gonna rewrite FAQ as it’s a mess
tuya definitely also fails on 5G, i cant use 5G on it myself, when it's like that it's probably a dual-band network (or w.e the exact name is) and there's just an isolated issue on swarmsync side
just updated the app, the logs from prior to doing that look different. got error message 148: [log] Pairing

That sounds like you problem
2.4G. Swarm Sync is up to date. Reinstalled it too. Tried resyncing.
I assume you also tried Force resync?
Ok it just worked for the Tuya app, but only after the LED on the lamp turned Green.
I have that, I don't have a popup error messages
148 is a bluetooth timeout fwiw
But I think it's because Tuya is connected in Bluetooth not my actual Wifi. (It doesn't sync with Wifi in Tuya too)
the bluetooth connection is only used to give wifi credentials to the device so it can communicate with the tuya datacenters
if I'm entering the wrong password or wi-fi name would that cause it? i've just been more or less guessing that's its similar to other things
potentially yeah, you can confirm that by just putting in nonsense for the wifi name / password and seeing what it does
you were able to successfully pair it in the Tuya app right? using the same wifi credentials and such
or did that fail too, an older message implies it worked but your message there makes me confused
Is connecting lamp to Tuya instead of Swarm Sync is temp workaround or solution?
it's just a sanity check to confirm that the lamp hardware has no issues
or its not a wifi issue
if it's a wifi issue it will also fail on the tuya app
I tried with Wifi it doesn't work so I try with Bluetooth and it connected to Tuya so I though it was the right way
Ok this time I got this now that it is updated. Also here's the log (bro is like a beaver rn)
first can you try the resync option in the settings?
i see something else minor but want to see if that fixes it first
when you say you tried with wifi, was it the same flow as swarmsync where you put it in pairing mode and put in wifi credentials? but then it failed to pair
Didn't seem to. Ended up with the popup again.
Yes
pressing the sync button in settings gave you a popup?
No, but I tried to reconnect again afterwards, which caused the popup.
this to me implies the issue is with your wifi, are you sure your network is 2.4GHz and that you're giving it the right name/pass? from the logs it looks like you're using a campus wifi of sorts
the sync button would make it appear if it worked
so the other thing I noticed was in your logs, while most of it is obfuscated, your wifi password had a trailing space at the end of it (sometimes your wifi name did too), was that intentional?
No, I use 5GHz, that's why Galaxy told me to try with Tuya to see if it works
well it didn't, right? that's sort of the problem lol
connecting by only bluetooth isn't a solution since the lamp needs a wifi connection to connect to the stream
No spaces when I'm putting it in, just double checked that now by trying to reconnect again. Thought it might be the autofill screwing up or something. Don't think so tho.
if you don't have access to a 2.4 GHz (or dual band, in some cases this worked for others) network this is sort of out of my realm of capability to help anymore unfortunately, the 5 GHz incompatibility problem isn't something the swarmsync app can fix
can you recopy the logs of your most recent pairing where you confirmed there's no trailing spaces?
Sure.
I have the same problem
the space may also be if you're hitting enter after finishing typing too?
Is there anything else I can try to pair lamp using Swarm Sync if it only works with Tuya for me?
the network having no password, or using eduroam?
yeah I noticed
Seems like they just forgot to consider that some wifi networks require username + password?
ok those last few pairings looked better, i dont see the trailing space anymore. can you try using the force resync button in the settings now?
thanks for your time, i'm continuing my research to find a way, i'm gonna focus on finding a way to have a 2.4GHz or a dual band
how does eduroam work exactly, is it a network with no password but then you connect to it and you log in, kinda like airport wifi has their popups when you initially connect?
No
U type in a username and password
If u click it will shot the log in and password
Those credentials don’t work?
The password is a personal one linked to your university email
So because the lamp doesn’t know my email it can’t connect
So even typing your email as user it wouldn’t connect?
There is no option on swarm sink to type in user
Sync
Oh right…
So we can’t .
Have you tried tuya?
That’s what I’m saying
Maybe a solution would be a ‘username’ tab that says (optional)
?
No, how does tuya work
yeah im curious if the official tuya app has a way to support that type of network
Swarm sync uses tuya as a way to connect the lamp and make it work
Didn't seem to do anything. I do think it's possibly a network issue, although I should have duel network now that I checked.
“Tuya app”
If tuya has support, then implementing shouldn’t be difficult
Hm I’ll try and report back
yeah im just reading some not ideal information about tuya and EAP networks like eduroam
Any truth in this? https://chatgpt.com/share/69010f98-5d20-8009-ac46-c4a15287d8ed
Tuya and Eduroam
Tuya smart devices (plugs, bulbs, switches, etc.) cannot connect directly to Eduroam because:
• They only support WPA2-PSK (pre-shared key) authentication — just SSID + password.
• They don’t have the ability to handle EAP authentication (which requires a username, password, and sometimes certificates).
• They also cannot interact with captive portals (web login pages) or RADIUS authentication servers.
✅ Workarounds
If you need to use Tuya devices on a campus or enterprise network like Eduroam, your options are:
1. Create a private 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g., from a router or access point) that uses standard WPA2-PSK.
2. Bridge Eduroam via a personal router — connect your laptop or Raspberry Pi to Eduroam, then share that connection via a local Wi-Fi hotspot using a normal password.
3. Use Ethernet or Zigbee gateways — some Tuya hubs connect via Ethernet, then control Wi-Fi-less smart devices locally.
Would you like me to show you how to set up a small “bridge hotspot” so Tuya devices can work in an Eduroam environment?
if the official app can't support it it's likely we can't either
Anyways thanks for the help, at least I can use the Tuya app I guess? Going to see if I can get Swarm Sync working some other time.
who was the fellow i heard had great tuya knowledge maybe he'd know best about EAP networks
@maiden depot I think?
@topaz willow
yeah was him
yeah it failed to add the device
Rip
maybe klef will have more insight but my guess is the easiest solution would be to just have an intermediary that connects to eduroam and then broadcasts a normal network that can be connected to like a normal wifi
internet sharing doesnt work as eduroam blocks it
i think eduroam doesnt let that happen
You’ll have to get a refund
fuck eduroam
Is the lamp controlled trough wifi or Bluetooth?
for stream sync it's wifi
i think the stream sync must be wifi
can we just connect normally through bluetooth and not have stream sync open?
Could you try that instead?
i tried it on tuyu doesnt work
you should be able to connect directly via bluetooth only on the tuya app, but since swarmsync is for the neuro integration it doesn't support bluetooth-only connections
someone else previously mentioned being able to connect via bluetooth only skipping the wifi step
ok ill try again
Maybe a workaround could be implemented here?
i think for simplicity sake a 'connect via bluetooth only' option would be helpful
on swarm link
Did you connect it via Tuya?
yeah
please let it sync please let it sync please let it sync please let it sync please let it sync please let it sync
only via bluetooth tho
singapore will rise today
@topaz willow why is wifi needed for swarm sync?
It change colours at least
cus to sync to the stream
its how neuro talks to the lamp
but i think there can be a toggle for 'wifi sync' and 'bluetooth sync'
neuro talks directly to the lamps, it doesn't go through the app to do that
oh
So the lamps connect to WiFi on their own?
would it be posible to make it go through the app? that way it would work for eduroam
i think for uni students around the world (i assume quite a lot of the swarm are students) this is a common problem
not really without setting up our own endpoints that other people could see the endpoint for (since anybody can reverse engineer app sources) and vedal doesn't want to get his stuff ddos'd like the mc server
those few eduroam users left out :(
Tell vedal about the whole eduroam thing, maybe ya'll can come up with something
you know even though vedal says to not touch the lavalamp it actually feels very comfy holding it
im sure if he has been to a UK university he has experiened eduoroam
lmao
i think the lamp itself is fine just dont touch the heating component inside it lol
Are turtles accepted into unis?
of course
diversity acceptance
has vedal ever been to uni actually? he's always said he's completely self taught and mainly learned through like yt tutorials
i've never head about the mc stuff lol
during the last year subathon the mc server ip got leaked a few times
and every time it did the server got banged
Yes, turtle parents leave their turtles alone; they do not provide any parental care and abandon their young after the eggs are laid. The mother turtle's role is finished once she lays and buries the eggs, and the hatchlings are on their own from the moment they emerge, relying on instinct to survive
some people are generational level haters
IT WORKS YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am a generational level hater of eduroam
yo tell vedal to fix neuro she is muted
can you go to the settings, make sure troubleshooting mode is on, then click the resync device list 'sync' button and see if that solves your issue
if not, copy debug logs and drop em here
My lava lamp is not entering pairing mode, even after unplugging and plugging it back in a dozen times, any suggestions?
Keep doing it eventually it’ll work (that’s what I did)
try multiple times
sounds like the issue is getting to to blink at all
I finally connected, what helped me was after step 2 I closed and opened app again. Now it's synced to the swarm!
Yes, it blinked red before but now it won't
There doesnt seem to be any logs, i click copy and it doesnt copy anything
My lava lamp said it was not connecting. I tried like 5 different times and no deal. I closed and reopened the app and it was connected without me ever trying to pair.
How did you get it to work?
i pressed the swtich called "Sync to stream"
try restarting the app, sometimes that rarely happens
@topaz willow is it fine if i drop my logs too? I cant pair the lamp using Swarm Sync
it only gets detected by Tuya
yeah go ahead if you've tried the force resync in the settings tab already and it didn't pop up
i love technologia
What part of debug logs because get over 18k limit reached uuh
Ok, so what worked for me was
#1 pairing lamp using Tuya
#2 resync
#3 tried pairing with Swarm Sync AND NOT DELETING IT FROM TUYA
one way to reduce that would be to turn off check device status and restart the app
if you try to send it should just make it a txt
this bout to be another 1000 page google docy
Hmm not getting it to send only get the "get Nitro" message
so uh my little sister accidentally broke my lamp. please. Is there a way to sell only the liquid parts? I only had it for 2 days that sucks
Contact Juniper for a replacement
maybe thats a nitro thing, can ptu it in a notepad save it and upload that instead
or pastebin
what Galaxy said, if they cant help im sure amazon has some
How long were u tryna connect for
Is the glass itself fine? Or did it shatter too
From the picture i assumed it shattered
@tropic sentinel
the glass broke
Should be the logs
it's juniper, jupiter is the planet
actually i dont think buying one from amazon is a good idea since if i remember correctly Vedal said something about having issues with the glass at the beginning
They are very similar
Got duel band on and the lamp in sync mode but it's not detecting.
Settings > troubleshooting mode on > force resync
Thanks, I sent them
I wish you the very best

Wishing you luck
I will miss this beauty
Checking in, does it work?
iwas about to say, your logs have the device in them LOL
No luck, lamp paired and for like 2 mins then did not want to respond, just tried now to repair with a 2g network [I seperated them via the router] and no luck pairing.
i wonder if there's an increasing lag time the more lamps get delivered and booted up
Oh god
make sure app is updated and then can you copy debug logs from a session where you tried to pair and it failed?
I downlaoded the app 10 or so mins agoso that should be fine, will check the logs.
Ok got it connected finally.
Yep all working, was just a bit annoying to setup.
Well I spent about an hour trying to troubleshoot the connection. (Not sure if this would have caused things to change). But this works consistently on Samsung Swarm Sync App. Open app, accept the location and other permission requests, start lamp, prepare WiFi details in the app, unplug and replug lamp 3 times then wait for lamp to flash red, click continue, there will be an error about the lamp not connecting (but it seems to connect in the background), cancel out of WiFi setup, click "Maybe Later" to enter the app, click settings, troubleshooting mode, scroll down and click "Resync Device List", exit out of settings and the lamp should be visible in the menu.
I don't have a separate WiFi frequency. They are both broadcast over the same SSID with 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I don't know how the lamp is configured so quickly and I never see a WiFi or Bluetooth network appear in my phone settings like other IOT devices. So not sure what is happening during the Sync process.
classic eduroam, did you get sync to work? there is a chance the lavalamp might have Bluetooth backup mode though
, however it must successfully pair at least once (no sync tho)
I know when I was in university I was able to use my laptop to broadcast a private WiFi hotspot after being connected to Eduroam (can't remember if I needed to use an ethernet connection to allow broadcasting via WiFi or if I could connect and broadcast via WiFi). Obviously this will require that you are able to do this still. But it got me round the issue in 2018. Might be worth someone looking into as a workaround if a fix isn't possible for the app.
this worked for my 5G connection
using the troubleshoot option and spamming syqn seemd to work
unsure if it actually follows neuro stream though
I have a light pink currently
if your lamp turns red when you turn on stream sync in the device UI that means it should be visible on vedal's end. if it doesnt change during a stream when it should there might be more weirdness like a singapore region issue that should be reported
there was a singapore issue yes, but it was a type of issue which could affect other places, just a note if some people observe that behavior
it didnt seem likely that it was anywhere but singapore from what we found but just a heads-up
ah I see
The app doesn't particularly like being wide

If anyone had issues trying to sync over wifi, I downloaded tuya to sync it via bluetooth, then I was able to Resync device list in swarm sync app and it showed up and worked.
one thing that tripped me up that I'll put here to help others is that (at least on IOS) having an active VPN on your phone prevents sync
Same issue as you. Thank you for typing this cause this was driving me crazy. I could the see the lamp connecting as I was able to find the MAC address/IP for it and could ping it.
THANK YOU! This worked for me.
Where is the resync device list button
Nvm i got it to connect
If anyone is curious, I got the lava lamp into home assistant through the LocalTuya integration. I’m 99% sure that stream sync is just the “music” work mode, so if you set the lamp to the “music” mode in home assistant it should be synced to stream
All you do is you add it to the smart life app instead of swarm sync and then just add it as usual as if it was any other tuya light
I can make a more detailed write up with instructions if anyone is interested

that will work yeah
Sweet
Please do confirm about stream sync
i can confirm that it should work, though it doesnt fix any 5g-specific issues since its still tuya hardware at its core
the music mode he mentions is the 'stream sync' mode
i guess i cant really confirm it, but it matches up with what the app does to turn it on
I need the steps so I could put it in in FAQ
its a good workaround if someone is hard stuck for a weird reason, but for example i dont think it would help the eduroam peeps
@silver moth you've found an interested party xdd
Give me one sec
@leaden zealot does this work for you too?
im a bit worried it won't work, depends on how the app was set up (ie will only work for those devices bound to the swarm sync app), but would be epic if it did and regardless, home assistant integration is genius
there's nothing about the app that specifically binds the lamps to the app for any of the stream sync flow, somewhat for this triage reason
oh neat
so in theory it should work, but wont know till it can be tested on a stream
No idea, it’s 4am here
I’ll test it tmr
I woke you up sorry
guys my lavalamp turned yellow
wait... thats not a swarmsync issue smh
un-funny joke aside so im reading that 5g connections works now?
...why is this in a pjsk server
Rip us
Okay so I’m now realizing how many steps there are and how late it is rn
I’ll make a GitHub repo/gist on how to connect it tmrw
Understood
Ill try to summarize rn and if that doesn’t work I’ll get the steps done
Basically you:
- reset the lamp
- set it up in the Smart Life app
- add it in the LocalTuya integration, making sure you check the box saying “music mode is available?”
Granted if you don’t have experience with tuya & HA this might be a little complicated but I can write it up tmrw
i don't think this will work (maybe unless you've already registered the device through swarm sync)
I just registered it through swarm sync then reset it and added it to smart life
Don’t know if registering it in swarm sync first does anything though
It does work for me though
yeah you can 100% control it through that
but I mean I'm not sure if stream sync will work
maybe if it's been registered in swarm sync first
Hmm I’ll have to see next stream
feel free to try!
vedal has given me enlightenment and i do think you would need to pair it through the swarmsync app at least once
forgot that the cloud project that stores the lamp ids is bound to the app bundle id, so it may not register if it wasn't activated through that same app id before
Now on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NeuroSama/s/HIIZ2Pm5y9
#jointhediscord
FAQ is out on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NeuroSama/s/JKVBrzAkGe
who has been asking for specifically the eduroam question?
I can think of at least 10 people who have asked it
it seems to be a common problem
University students
looool
lava lamp in libraries mhm
Questions to eduroam users, i’ve seen some talk about creating a hotspot with a laptop and using that to connect, would this work for any of you?
I cant seem to get mine to go i to sync mode, it did it once when I plugged it in for the first time but even when trying to unplug and plug 3 times I cant get it to flash red.
When was this created? https://swarmsync.app/support.html
I would assume not unlesss auth creds are somehow passed to the other device as well I think
I also just got my lamp today and while it flashed red when i first plugged it in i cant get it to do so again. I've unplugged and replugged it a dozen times
Anybody got a fix?
Perhaps you’ve connected it ?
0 lamps connected on the app
Go to settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list
nothing happens
Can you pair your lamp when the lamp is on?
unable to find lamp
o wait im trying to use a 5g network when it needs 2g
how do I change my phone to use the 2.4ghz instead of 5
Back of your internet box should have the info for 2.4 and 5 ghz WiFi. To have lamp search mode, unplug/plug in 3 times. One done, its green for a few seconds, then it blink once, then it flashes red
After that, every time you try to pair, it might fail but thats fine. If, when you do pair, the red blinking disappear fast, it means it worked.
Press maybe later, settings, troubbleshooting mod, resync device and press home.
Okay ive disabled band steering and switched my device to the 2.4 ghz wifi, ive figured out how to get the pairing mode working but I just keep getting this
Go to settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list
What’s wrong now?
Ye
What is showing up?
Ok after doing it like 5 times I got it working
Magic?
same

It wouldn't be vedal AI without scuff
spent the last hour trying to connect and I get this error everytime I think I’m getting close to it working
just tried the tuya app and it connected just fine
Thank you very much! The app told me that it can not find the lamp, no lamp showed up in the app overview but the pairing mode stopped after a few seconds (no red light). After the resync it works as expected! (Android 16, Galaxy S22)
Same thing Go to settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list
haha i have been doing that but i will keep trying
oh nvm it just connected lmao
Are you using 5GHz or 2.4GHz network?
Just got my Lava Lamp, had to do the resync device list too, because otherwise it just failed to connect.
God dammit app, stop magically fixing yourself
Does it work now?
yeah, well at least I can choose the color manually, will see if it works during a stream
Hey Vedal, knowing how much issues lava lamp had, i doubt creating a plasma globe is on your mind. So my idea is to let evil change color of her plasma globe and the color of the lava lamp changes too

Yes! I am convinced its just a green lamp now
Same thing Go to settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list
This is the log produced when I tried summiting the wifi cred when it flashes red
I did that before trying it
Are u using 2.4 GHZ OR 5 GHZ network?
Summited 2.4GHz wifi cred while connected to a 5GHz network
Lavalamp is (close to) Fully warmed up when pairing
Can you connect to 2.4 GHZ?
Yes
Did it work?
Yet to try that in new update, one sec
Although now my network is somehow now a "Hidden network"
trying to fix that first
so to be clear, it ONLY works with 2.4 ghz right? I don't have mine yet but I have a separate 2.4ghz network set up already that I was using for something else, so I would have to connect to that one on my phone right?
I think it can't connect to a 5G netowork
Just tried that. Unable to find lamp after summited 2.4GHz wifi cred while connected to a 2.4GHz network
Yes and you will have to connect that to the lamp
Could you repeat this step? ⭐ Step 2: (users say this works for them) Start pairing mode (turn it on and off 3 times untill it blinks red), start pairing process and complete it, after fail message cancel pairing process, go to settings, enable troubleshooting mode, press Resync Device List. If you are unable to change the color, try Resync Device List resync instead.
Not working I think
You got the lamp to pair?
no
Any errors?
The lava lamp must flash red before you can pair, does that happen?
I summited cred when it started flashing red
Can you submit cred after lamp stops flashing red?
Yes but you can't pair
Submit creds, when you get an error reset sync device list
I always reset sync device list before trying to pair tho
Resync it after pairing it
? I can't pair the lamp
on ios, disable vpn if you use it
Replug your lamp until it flashes red, then try to pair it
Make sure you are using 2.4GHz
That is exactly what I'm doing for the past 15 or so minute 😭
Others did the same, it took multiple re attempts
So im not sure whats going on
Reinstall the swarm sync
didn't I just update the app
ok
on a side note, the Tuya app does detect my lamp, so it may be a swarm sync issue
Tuya is to check that it’s not lava lamps issue
I had problems getting the lamp to connect with reinstalling the app and syncing multiple times. Just before I was going to post my debug logs here I clicked on "Resync Device List" and now it somehow connected and works.
It’s a magical button that seems to work most of the time
So uhm, another guy who can't connect their lava lamp to the Swarm sync app here. I might know the issue, but I don't know how to fix it. I saw that it has to be connect to a 2.4GHz but my wifi's frequency is 5GHz. I did see how you're supposed to fix it, but honestly, no idea how to put it in. Also another note: Im using a Huwai phone (Nova 12 pro be to more specific) and as you guys probably know, it doesn't have google. I used a 3rd-party app that allows me to use google services, so I used that to get it.
Modern routes have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, u should check you router for more info
{"msg":"","error":true,"code":"148"}
the dev said earlier 148 means bluetooth timeout
not sure if it's going to help though
and where can I check it? Like on the router or on their site? (Where you can check the details and etc)
On the routers label or the site, whichever is accessible for you
bluetooth is on and permission is granted
sooooooooo i am clueless
Sear the dev will be online in few hours i’ll notify him about your problem
In the mean time u can try connecting on your own
Thank you 😭
@true mantle u can try the methods here https://swarmsync.app/support.html
I can now change the color thankfully (through the Tuya app, not swarm sync)
but I want to have stream sync as well (although im utc+8 and can only see stream in 2am)
One more thing. I set the lamp color to green but when I activate "Sync to stream" it turns red while the color wheel still shows green as selected. Turning of stream sync reverts the color back to green. Changing the selected color will turn off stream sync. Selecting "Reset Color" in the options turns the color to pink while moving the selection circle in the color wheel to the pink section. Changing this disables stream sync again. Is this intended behavior? I'd love to select a color while stream sync is on.
The Dev rn
This lamp is beautiful, I'll stay
okay so, I somehow worked on Tuya but I still have the same issue with Swarm Sync
Nvm—It worked after doing a Resync
i have no idea how to use this thing and im not even sure where to ask this, its fine to leave the lamp as it is to cool when switch off via the app right? or do i need to unplug it
Found a possible bug that if you have a VPN enabled on Android you cant pair the Lamp with your phone
So this wifi i have is only 5GHz and having trouble syncing. Do i just keep trying or is there setting i need to change?
It will only connect to 2.4ghz. Check your router settings, you may be able to create a seperate 2.4 ghz network
I think this is also affecting me, I use a guest wifi and can't pair.
It’s fine to leave it off, but if you want to be extra safe unplugging it is recommended
ya im using a family router i gotta talk to them welp
Most routers have 2.4 GHz are u able to split the network?
uhh im going to have to look up how to do that
If you know your home routers ip adress you can just open that with any webbrowser by typing in the ip adress
alright i see, would i have to reconnect it to the app if i do unplug it though?
Someone here knows how to do it, but i dont remember who
No, you shouldn’t need to pair it again
alright thanks
Update: I used Force Sync and it showed up.
Solution disable the vpn
Also for anyone getting the error that the app is unable to sync, look at your home networks device list. My lamp was connected to wifi but i still got an error. Try resync or wait a moment. It should show up in the devices regardless if you got an error while pairing.
But yeah ill pass it to the dev
Hi followed the instructions for pairing, the lamp was flashing red, then goes back to green and shows me this message
Are you using a 2.4ghz wifi ?
Yep, it's both actually
Both?
it usually defaults to 5 ghz, might have to go to router settings and split into to SSIDs temporarily
then go to settings, turn on "Troubleshooting mode" and then "Resync Device List"
just worked for me
@short vale this is for you too
Android is stupid and doesnt let you just pick which channel from settings lmao
Will try that
I have a TP link router and just turn off "smart connect"
It’s so great to see so many of you helping out
In France we are kinda forced to use the ISP router and it sucks
I'm trying to find the settings
Https + your ip on the router
Ye I know that

Just the UI sucks
I can't get my lamp to blink red for pairing, it just stays green even after unplugging and replugging after 3 seconds multiple times. Any suggestions? Disabled 5ghz wifi
sometimes it takes a second or 2 for it to change from green to red
Could u replug rapidly without waiting
@true mantle Hey, have u managed to get your lamp working?
That does make it blink red and after 3 flashes it goes back to being green but can't seem to pair it
Is this your first time pairing?
Yes
then go to settings, turn on "Troubleshooting mode" and then "Resync Device List"
Interesting, that worked. Thank youu
It's paired now
Magical button saves the day
Enjoy!
It's paired but I can't control it
then go to settings, turn on "Troubleshooting mode" and then "Resync Device List"
nope xd
It's ok I'll wit for another software update to (hopefully) fix it
Well now I have this error
New error? Copy logs and post them here
Are there any sensitive data or it's fine ?
none, unless you count what operating system ur phones using a sensitive information
There is no sensitive data
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
@topaz willow

"Livebox-CD60" xdx doxxed
There is sensitive data LOL
Well its not like I care
Good morning nothing like a fresh set of explosions most of which fixed by the weird magical resync button
Is an SSID considered sensitive to some? I can apply the same blocker to SSID that I do to the wifi password if so
I just found out that my router can make a separate network just for IoT devices, makes management so much easier
Well I don't think it's useful as debug information
I don't really see how it could be used against you tbh
It’s there just to confirm that things are being passed along correctly
This is probably good thing to have somewhere in the FAQ, it’s not really an issue with the app but if the lamp goes into pairing mode and times out I’ve had it get stuck in the uninteractible state before (you can’t do anything with the lamp while it’s blinking, but this is usually resolved on its own when it stops)
@true mantle sorry to bother you again, but the dev is online now
Simple unplug replug can help in some cases
does it work with
plasma globe?
@topaz willow

@topaz willow
@sinful escarp you won’t believe this
This is intended behavior, the app has two distinct modes (one clever user even found exactly which two last night since they had experience with the hardware we used) which the lamp sort of overwrites the stream sync mode if you send a manual color to it

Thinking about it more deeply I probably could make it work? If that’s something people wanted, I’d just need to do the same thing Vedal does for neuro integration but from the app itself (sending commands to the other mode)
Well people did request color modes
Right now that is intended behavior though, but once dust settles with bugs I can look at that
@topaz willow
I’m having this tinfoil hat theory that the cloud activation that happens specifically with our app (to let neuro control it) is what’s causing the strange delay that needs a resync at a later point
But that may just be copium xd
Based log title
Blame Vedul
Let me roll up to my PC so I can actually open that log
Well it’s not his fault
More like tuyas if that is true xd
Also that SSID location error is not blocking
Just means the SSID field won’t auto populate which is a QoL down, think it’s an iOS thing
um Hellooo I have a issue whit lamp
I did create a FAQ post on reddit, mods haven’t yet pinned it
Another one
aaa i wanted to test the stream sync feature, well another day lol
Would something like this be possible?
What's going on ?
IDK the lamp is linked but nothing happends only Green?
I have issue with syncing the lamp. I dont know why it simply wont connect at all. I was trying on 5.0ghz but then tried on 2.4ghz and it still wont work. Only gives a generic error, i checked the logs and its an unknown error it seems like
Go to settings - troubleshooting mode on - resync device list
it flashes red then stops flashing so theres def something working when i click connect with my wifi info, but it still wont work
Go to settings - troubleshooting mode on - resync device list
love the magic button
hmmm wen I do that it just gone and need to reconnect? and still same issue
yes, this worked for me instantly after 30 minutes when i noticed that i was trying to connect it to 5ghz wifi lmao
resync device list is the real goat
If u got $1 for every time the magic button worked, you’d be rich
Are u connecting with 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz network?
it wouldve been cool to have a way to have it cycle through colors automatically. Anyways, thanks for the help!
true, i thought about this as well. maybe they could add it later on when they manage to fix other bugs...
you can with the tuya app
5 GHz🤔
Doesn't work with 5ghz, you need to use 2.4
use 2.4
oh🫠
Yes, on your router check what the label says
doesnt pretty much every router have 2.4ghz as default
whenever vedal is available i sent him a new android build which refactored a bunch of the pairing code on the tuya side so either hopefully we get better outputs or we get better logs.
if the empty response bug still exists that is fixed by resync at that point just going to add a new UI for resyncing without settings
Yeah! Cause its def just software the hardware should be able to support it
Mine came w/ 2.4GHz disabled, I had to enable it when I got smart lighting
any tips on what the could be wrong with my wifi network anyway? the tuya app can only connect via bluetooth and even connecting via bluetooth and then trying to connect it to wifi isn't working. 2.4ghz of course. could it be the distance to the router that is the problem?
Some combine 2.4 and 5 in to one, that doest work, you need separate
And ios?
making a plasma globe's actual filaments change colour is probably not possible, so any RGB plasma globe would have to be done by just having extra RGB LEDs in the base or something, and there would be nothing like the lava lamp wax for that light to bounce off of
but I guess there could be some kind of cheaper thing that's not a real plasma globe, just to make it work better with RGB
checklist of problematic stuff ive heard from klef or other users (if you're for sure on a 2.4ghz network and no mistakes in wifi credentials): vpn, network extender, mesh networks
My point was that, instead of having a plasma globe, evil has access to irl lava lamp, and she does what evil does
just the singular router no VPNs enabled, on android (pixel 9 pro).
Eduroam network?
nope tp-link AX5400 and residential fiber internet
yeah, she probably should, since an RGB plasma globe probably isn't happening
but maybe there's something else in the works
did you post logs anywhere when i was
nope
those are always good
just
[log] [tuya] trying to add device to homeID 270096050 with wifi SSID [ TP-Link_redacted ] pw [ 3******2 ]

I get that error too
how long ago did you try to pair
Glad I'm no longer alone in my error land of woe 😄
about 2 mins ago and for around half an hour about 3 hours ago
did someone suggest the sanity check in the official tuya app yet
its a good way to see that there's no hardware or wifi problems
I did pick up there is one... anyone know the name or do we just search for tuya in android app store?
tuya smart life should get it to pop up
yeah tuya or smartlife
ta
Won't connect
Using iOS, put in the WiFi details, disabled 5 GHz, but it never stops the lamp from being just solid green
I've been starting to get the feeling it IS talking to it... at least in some manner. Certainly the in and out with the plug 3 times at about 2 second interviews does seem to get the single green flash followed by the red flashing after a bit
did you put the lamp in pairing mode before trying to submit wifi credentials?
How the heck do I put the lamp in pairing mode
unplug replug the lamp 3 times
replugging about 3 times at about 2 second intervals seems to do it... it flashes green once, when successful.. but I'm just another person who hasn't succeeded in pairing yet
Got it
lamp should blink red rapidly for a little bit, need to have the app scanning for it at that point
It's been searching for a while
Solid green and... nothing
Nope, got it
Thank you very much
xd
yeh because I have to keep entering the SSID it's quite tricky to sync the app scanning with the red flashing XD
For pairing it's a very quick 2 seconds
have fun
good to know... yeh it looked fast from the vids
you can enter stuff in the wifi page and then get up to enter pairing mode, it wont actually send out the credentials until you hit continue on that page
It's more like "1 2" instead of "1 and 2". If that makes sense
Anyone else slightly disturbed that the reset to pairing mode is the weird rapid replugging..., I feel sorry for the microcontroller...
the people who designed the chip and microcontroller made it like that so they shot themselves in the foot lmao
What’s going on with the UI here?
holy moly
Secret color!?
whats the device
Well my lap just automatically turned on, even though it's an evil stream today
It’s an iOS device
Red lamp
so i can figure out the resolution and dpi for testing stuff
It still allows me to drag it down there, but I can’t use the colour wheel for it.
Oh, it’s an iPad Pro
11-inch, just saw there’s also apparently a 13-inch version
I can just imagine 100 lava lamps turning on when its evils stream
iPad Pro 3rd gen 11", there’s the full name
OK the Tuya app found it no probs
can you try resyncing in the swarmsync app now that you got it to pair in the tuya app
If you're using it in horizontal mode, try flipping it vertical
you able to connect over wifi?
yeh I guess...
It is vertical
i can only do over bluetooth
oh... dunno
Have you declined wifi permissions?
nope, gave it the keys to the kingdom
if wifi fails on the tuya app its an issue with your wifi setup in some way
This is how my ui looks
the app is definitely a bit wonky on big screens atm, there's also a bug that caused a bunch of stuff to scale up that needs to be addressed too
what device?
Ah, I see, alright
I turned off bluetooth and was able to change the colour via the tuya app so yeh... seems so...
HONOR X6b
Find your ip on the label of your router and go online https + ip
I already know
do you have any screen zoom in your phone settings on?
also https was disabled on this router by default, you had to enable it
hmm tried again with swarmsync after the success with tuya app... no cigar
can you restart the app then try to pair it again and copy the logs in here?
me? sure
ya
Looks like switching from default zoom to small fixes it
sort of, that's definitely not the intended UI even if it gets everything on screen lol
Less broken is less broken lol
hang on sorry... that wasn't the full thing... one sec...

that looks like a normal log for the types of situations where the magical resync button ends up working

Also while I'm here if I unplug the lamp after powering it off do I need to resync it?
yeah i mean users reported that button not always working instantly but then itll just work eventually
my headcanon that the cloud takes forever to pair up the lamp to vedal's swarmsync tuya storage grows

no you shouldnt have to
mother... you know the rest
I want such a magic button in my life, would fix many issues
out of curiosity
what country is your phone set to
if you're fine with saying it
can dm it too
Who?
i wonder if this is a region issue, because i know some people dont have this odd delay
knelf
sorry shouldve been clear lol
@solid lava
i need to remember to try and get that info from others if the issue pops up after the new build too
if its just a regional thing and its reproducible that way thatd be a good thing to know
I had to hit the funny resync button to get my lamp originally paired
OKaaay finally got it working
Reading all this makes me realize why no sane person would sell lava lamps, especially ones that have the characteristics as this one. Just keep merch as mainstream/simple as possible vedal
Thanks ennukee
True, Vedal went through with making the lava lamp and selling it, and now it’s the bugs that need fixing
I ended up doing the resync... and then it appeared when I hit home but couldn't control it. So I unpaired it. Did the 3 go replug again, seemingly failed to pair it again, did the resync again, waited 20 seconds, closed the app went back in it was there, could control it. Turned off bluetooth tried again, could still controll it... hopefully... that's it done now
🤔
is it red for others who have the stream sync on?
Yes
mmmh pairing kept failing but I just tried the resync thing and turn out it was already connected. Nice
there's an unintuitive delay that the lamp does a bad job of relaying whether it's that or an actual problem
maybe the new build later today will help that but probably just going to be a new screen for when people get that vague state
Add the delay to logs
Thanks so much for all the help in here
well i meant the pairing stuff will give data back to the app before it's actually ready
Glad I remembered there was likely a discord server
#jointhediscord
Did you win in the end? I got there with the resync button in the end
Do you have a link to the support page in the app? If not, that might be helpful to have for those who don't know that these support pages exist.
i don't although it might be on store pages? thats a good idea to put in the app tho
I myself didn’t know support page until i found the link posted by vedal on reddit
Wow that's well hidden... I just went back into the app to look for it and still didn't find it...
Because it doesn’t exsist, it exsist on the swarm sync website
Maybe it's "in a disused locker with a sign on the door saying beware of the leopard"
aaahhh
the app website on the playstore?
Also please fix css
It's technically linked on the store pages, but its buried and not easy to find if you're not looking for it
ah... ok so... to get support... one goes to the play store app page... finds the app home page, scroll all the way to the bottom of that, and there is a support link there...
although there is an email address for juniper on the app page on play store
Ye
@topaz willow on the topic of support add discord link too
yeh it's been really nice to get help here
are hardware specific question ok here?
thx
The discord link is on the support page
I seem to be unable to pair with my lamp. I can get the lamp to go into pairing mode but the app doesn't detect it. Then, after a while, the lamp exits pairing mode and the app times out searching and says it couldn't find the lamp. Any tips?
try going to the settings page, turning on troubleshooting mode, then pressing "Resync device list"
If you are using 5 GHz network switch to 2.4 GHz after that attempt to pair, if failed, settings, troubleshooting mode on, resync device list
Tried the resync but that had no effect for me
discord is the real support site
@inland cape
Not sure how to check on my phone but when I check on my pc it says the network band is 2.4 GHz
Make sure you are entering 2.4 GHz correct details
yea this worked for me, i had a similar issue where the app would try to pair to the lamp while it was blinking, then it would stop and give an error with no error message. Resync device list basically fixed the issue instantly, tried it after seeing it on the support page
question for you peeps, how do i know if i have the lava lamp connected to swarm sync?
it turns red as the default color when in the stream sync mode
awesome, seems like i got it to work, thanks
Nothing wrong but keep red for pairing, green for paired, and pink for synced
That’s just my thought
red is just the tuya chip's default for that mode
I see
i could send a color immediately after changing mode but that just adds a layer for error somewhere
Better not do that
i think blinking red and constant red is a fine enough line

Any troubleshooting steps I can take since this doesn't seem to work for me?
Replug your lamp until it flashes red
got it working, i just setup a hotspot instead using my pc instead of the router, same internet and stuff but it works now at least, had to use the magic sync button after it errored but it worked first try after switching to the hotspot.
@inland cape checking in
Using a hotspot from my pc and then pressing the resync button works
Connected just a minute ago
Noted
The lava lamp came but it won’t connect to my iPhone it says it needs permissions for my Bluetooth I’ve turned permissions on but still says it needs Bluetooth permissions I’m sooo confused I do love the look of the lava lamp just wish it would connect
I open settings enable Bluetooth permissions but just get this same image afterwards
I’m on iPhone 11 if it helps
Go to ios settings, apps, swarm sync, enable Bluetooth, also make sure you have updated the app to the newest version
If the issue still continues reinstall the app
can you copy logs from the settings? this happens when one of the two ios permissions returns blocked
which means its either disabled in the phone or you hit decline on one of the requests

do you have location services disabled on your iphone?
or for the app
detecting local bluetooth devices like the lamp requires that to be enabled
I need to have bluetooth and location enabled for this to work?... that might be a cause .. I have all thet disabled as default
yes to both
Where would I find location services
welp goodbye privacy
Sorry I’m not very tech savvy
i got to it by just searching location in my settings
trying to find the actual path to it lol
You can give a little of your privacy to Neuro

assuming wifi details are correct and 2.4ghz it looks like a usual delayed activation bug we've seen a bunch
settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list (sync button) if that doesn't work, give it a bit of time and try again

once vedal's up and able to push the new build and i can get some fresher logs of the delayed activation bug im going to implement the screen that will make it a bit more intuitive to resync. ill also add a toggle to settings that lets people fully obfuscate their ssid/wifi pw instead of leaving the first/last char so if people are extra concerned about security they dont have to manually edit it out lol

i will also try to fix the weird UI scaling on ios but that build will take a while to process cause apple
idk who dev this but please also don't log wifi password just character count or something
'Unable to connect, ask for help and show them the below' ... there is nothing below
its not logged fully anyway
ok good then :3
Sorry my sysadmin/netsec job leaking a little
settings > troubleshooting mode on > resync device list (sync button) if that doesn't work, give it a bit of time and try again
can you copy debug logs from settings?
also what galaxy said first
if that fails copy debug logs
Sync to stream is just showing red for me for some reason. It was working the last couple of streams so idk what changed
True, mmh I just got it today maybe it's not linked to evil's plasma thingy ?
do I need to keep the bluetooth and location stuff enabled. or can i just enable stream sync and then turn off the data leaks?
I hope that's the case
oh it's red on stream now so idk
edit: nvm
Red color is when stream sync is on
When evil changes color on her plasma globe, does the color of the lava lamp change?
I dont believe Evil can control the laps iirc?
doesn't look like it
mines been red perma since i turned sync on when the stream went live
Yep same
yeah mines red too
I’m confused as i saw a pic saying it synced to plasma globe
i could go ask vedal what's up quickly, but no clue if i'll get a response
But i guess they did it manually
I did send a question here if syncing plasma globe to lava lamp is possible, but im not sure if he would see it
either evil can't control the lamp or sync is disabled for karaokes
probably not, i'll ask him somewhere it's more likely for him to see
he previously said evil couldnt control lamps but maybe thats changed since
Oh yeah cloudburst, will you pin my lava lamps FAQ in the neurosama reddit??? I have asked few mods but no response
i don't have mod on the subreddit
Oh cmon

we may get a response later
when and if he sees it
This is my question for Vedal
so does the lamp rely on connecting to phone by bluetooth then internet connection for neuro control? or wil lit work if my phone isnt nearby?
it connects to wifi
so it'll work
but if your phone ain't nearby you aren't nearby, please turn off your lamp when you're not physically able to reach it
I am old enough to not be surgically attached to my phone 🙂
my point still stands
That’s not healthy
anyway, if vedal gives me an answer i'll mention it here
yeah just need it once for pairing
ok thanks o/
will work even if your phone is at the bottom of a lake (as long as you've enabled stream sync)
is there any word on getting a desktop app for those of us without an android or apple phone
No phone?
what do you have?
a nokia
or a non-smartphone

Android in a vm maybe ? like the ones people use to play azur lane and other mobile apps
it wasn't in the plans, if you can borrow someone elses phone to pair + enable stream sync that might be a good idea
thought about using the windows subsystem for android, googled int and saw they discontinued it last year Sadge
Android emulator perhaps?
google play have an official one now, but only work for whitelisted apps I think
not sure the bluetooth will passthrough
Oh true, BT :|
If it’s a laptop they can emulate Bluetooth, but if it’s pc they might need antenna, and your message too
pcs in 2025 have wifi and bluetooth so the hardware isn't really a problem
tho i'm probably not gonna set up a linux just for the app lol
I know bluestacks is one of the android emulators
A few people asked what they should do since their network is Eduroam, any help with that?
Mmm, a random mode for offline times would be kinda useful
Dev said he’d implement after he gets the connection issues fixed
eduroam is still a captive portal no ? (asking because I have not been at uni for a decade now so things possibly changed) Going to be difficult without setting up an AP and probably breaching eduroam eula.
Using mobile hotspot maybe ?
Hotspot could be possible, those with eduroam havent tried or/and confirmed that it works
When i type in my wifi data, the lamp stops blinking red, turns green and i get a message that i was unable to connect
It’s less about eduroams wifi but rather the wifi that requires both user and password (i dont know what its called)
Settings, trouble shooting mode on, resync device list
holy it works thanks
i messed with the app in an emulator (android studio emulator), i don't think bluetooth passthrough works?
also if you're not on ARM then good luck, the app will simply refuse to operate
new android app update is out with the android pairing rework for better logging if you're newly pairing and get failures i am eagerly awaiting your logs

@dawn tide are you on android?
Mine was messing me about, then suddenly started working. Think my mobile had pairing disabled by default.
i am, i can run a few pairing tests
will do so after a thing i need to do tonight
I managed to get it to search for the lava lamp but just kept searching for over 10 minutes still hasn’t found anything yet
It’s just red right…
How long does it take typically to find the lava lamp
If you have enabled stream sync, on evil’s streams lava lamps will apear red
Is your lamp flashing red
No it’s still green
settings, troubleshooting mode on, resync device list
Ok thanks I’ll give it another go

cant pair, im on andorid trying to use my 2G. also tried with a samsung s22
@topaz willow your first logs 🪵 and it’s android
Could you put logs in txt file or format it using ```
the txt file isnt the ``` stuff it just code blocks it lol
gosh dang it lol
your log looks very similar to users who have the delayed activation visual bug
settings > troubleshooting mode > resync device list
if it doesn't fix it immediately try again after 5-10 minutes or so
yeah i did try that once before, ill do it again now
its like, its doent even try it just instantly says no cannt do it
@cedar wyvern are u using the recent version of the app, it was recently published
the connect to wifi part
he is
those logs are new
actually i dont know how to read logs, the wrong step is giving a blank object not the pairing one

let me look at something
lol oh yup
This basic advice should probably be pinned, seems to help a lot of people (myself included)
It’s in FAQ , first message, also pinned one
ah, stupid me for not checking first, apologies
i'm having the same problem, lamp is in pairing mode and when i try to connect it just instantly says "unable to find your lamp"
can you paste your debug logs from settings?
yeah one sec
unpaired and tried to pair for testing, didnt work. heres the log, hopefully helps
how do i send the logs as a txt file
if its long enough and you have nitro itll do it auto, otherwise have to do it via notepad and saving a file
ok, im seeing some patterns which im sad broke but there might be something i can do to fix it
the new logs gave me great insight
ok same bug
alright
with the magic of everybody having the same issue i have found a maybe solution
stand by
standing
by stand by i mean it might be a bit cause itll have to be approved by play store, but
+1 more week for ios
ill ask vedal if he can put the old version back on the play store or not
to be fair
i dont think ios has this bug

wow the slander lol
my android supremacy
not wrong for how long apple takes to approve tho
ios 1 android 1m+
if i were to push a build rn itd prob take at least 2, maybe 3 days to be approved and show up
(for ios)
its like ~24 hour approval time i think but we have to build too
yeah e2e ends up being a few days
i can wait, no biggie. waited this long already
while working on this app ive fully convinced myself that anybody who is a full-time mobile SWE might be a severe masochist irl

had to reinstall so was able to pair it again with the troubleshooting mode method
Holy based
I've said nothing but I appreciate yalls help was able to sync cause of yall
new build is up for review which if we're lucky should fix the original ghost device issue which I believe would fix the "delayed activation" bug as ive called it
other changes is that ssid has the light obfuscation now, and for the security-prone you can opt into full obfuscation of wifi stuff in the settings so you shouldnt need to replace them yourself if you dont want the first/last char peeping out
as well as links to support / this discord as suggested
Hey all, I can't seem to get the lamp to go into pairing mode for more than a few seconds, if at all. Any help would be appreciated
are you actively trying to give it wifi creds?
when the lamp gets wifi credentials that work it will turn pairing mode off on its own and stop blinking
I haven't made it that far, I haven't paired it yet, it won't blink red
unplugging and replugging 3 times quickly does nothing either? (users have had varying success based on how long they leave it unplugged)
No dice there, I've tried a few seconds, a few minutes
