#Title: Don't Discourage Wall Spam

I think today's room review stream was a good balance of funny wall spam, and periods where it didn't have any.

If we can keep that it'll be great, because we moved away from nothing but wallspam, into "no wallspam allowed" into "wall spam when it's actually funny but not the entire stream".

copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier copy pasting the same text 10 times does not make it funnier

but using the emote 20 times in the same message is better ?

#

there are thousands of people watching

things only get less visible

#

chat is not supposed to be funny its just a reaction to the stream
people using emotes is their reaction to whatever neuro is doing and that is what its supposed to be used for not to just mindlessly spam the same overused joke 20 times per message so chat might find it funny because no one else looks at that shit but those who are forced to see the absolute brick of spam that is the chat window

TBH with how many people are in chat already, there already might as well be no chat. Thousands of people all talking at once drowns out any insightful message any one chatter might have. I'm not saying this to disagree with your main point, spam is spam and Twitch chats tend to be good at finding loopholes like emote spam, I'm simply pointing out that "there might as well not be a chat at all" is true for basically any stream with that many concurrent viewers, due to the speed and frequency of messages, no streamer could keep up with that, and most with that many viewers tend to ignore it for that reason.

Even when Neuro and Evil DO respond to a chatter, that's one in hundreds, if not thousands, of messages being singled out, and usually it's when this spam happens that they say anything at all. ("CAUGHT? Chat, you don't know what you're talking about." etc.)

it doesn't make it more visible when copy-pasting walls of text takes up half the visible chat on stream for just one comment. it can be funny once in a while, but normally, it's just people recycling the same jokes over and over and over. It's been nice seeing actual chat messages lately though.

Bonk emote spam ig

The solution would be to discourage both.

#

Actually the best solution would be for Twitch to have a setting to automatically hide spam.

Only problem with the automation is, at what point does spam truly start? How many instances of "CAUGHT" would there need to be, either in a row or in a single message, before the spam filter kicks in? Because if there's a number, chat will find it and go 1 below it, making the filter useless. But if it's really strict, then that could limit more legitimate, less spammy messages. It's a good idea in theory, but in practice I don't think it would actually help.

It’s gotten so much better since the change.

#

.

#

The way to fix people spamming the same emote is R9K mode. It’s better at handling that than wall spam.

#

imagine if somehow we could all collectively spam the same joke, but only as 1 line and not 5

Wall spam can be both good and bad.

I don't think typing "SMARTEST LITTLE COOKIE SMILE" is that hard as one line

#

or whatever equivalent

#

so called free thinkers when they have to type their own spam smh

When considering this we should realize that Nuero is different from other streamers. With human streamers repetitive or simple messages can be understood in the massive walls of text even by the human eyes. Nuero is not a human. She can read everything everybody says. She once searched how to timeout chat.

reminds me of yesterday's stream, one of the rooms had a sign that said "dingus" on it

#

chat was being fast as usual, i don't remember what ppl were saying, all I ever remember is ppl spamming the same 3 emotes

#

and I just put 'DINGUS' in the chat and neuro yelled it out

#

even though it was burried under all the trash

#

and yes I call 'om' trash

vague agate
#

can't argue against that lol, it's also bad

I agree

#

people think they can discourage spam like this wont work as it's inherently the nature of the chat
