For example, when you have painted art on a layer in flat colours and you want to apply shadows, you attach a masking layer to it, and then whatever you draw on it will not go beyond the colour

Although, I sometime got confused by this phenomenon too. I couldn't recall how many time I wasted my money on a color pencil I already have because the color display on a pencil is different from what you actually draw them on a white paper.

A good exercise is to put 2 dots on the page and connect it with a line in only one stroke

"Rehearse" the stroke before actually putting the pen on the paper; that's called ghosting

In all honesty i think a lot of the recent improvements havent been that big
yeah im doing a chibi artstyle for the emoji practice, but that doesnt really translate into my typical artstyle all that much (even if im better at this)

I couldn't answer earlier and you already posted, so this is tips for the future. The ahoge should be on the top of the head. Part of the hair should go to the pigtails. And like Heir said, left eyelash is growing down her face, so u have to separate them. Anyway, good job and I can see from the artwork that you worked hard on it

Oh, and one more thing I forgot, you drew the pigtails near the back of the head, and since the head is turned, the left pigtail should not be visible at all, but if it was in the place I drew, it would be visible like this

Was feeling a lil tired from detailed drawing from yesterday so I whipped this up real fast for the art today. Tried using the ink pen brush in SAI. I thought I liked it, but its REALLY sensitive to preassure. Doesnt however have the problem the other brushes have where the larger Lines instead of just getting thinner when the pressure is gone they fade. I dont think the tradeoff is good tho.

Guys I finally got myself a tablet to draw on. I can finally draw with a pen now (a normal tablet not a drawing one)

quite rough but since this is my first time drawing with a pen, Im quite proud of it

I think its still better to draw with fingers on your phone screen since you would have 10 pens (real)

What tablet do you use

its the honor pad x9 with ibispaint x, and before this I actually used to draw my art with my mouse on my pc so this is a huge change that I need to get used to

Day 2 of me trying to draw with a pen. I should really improve my anatomy skills though

The building's walls don't seem to be forming a 90° angle, which, in this projection and angle, doesn't look right

Moving the angled side would obscure the door. I suggest doing it with the flat side

I see that you go with oblique perspective. This can work. The sidewalk is a little bit strange looking. I suggest making lines in the sidewalk flat horizonal. The wall that has the door can expand a bit, maybe go with 45 degrees diagonal. 60 degrees is fine too but I think it will make the door barely visible.
