while one expect all fingers to close at the same rate, we arent wearing mitts
fingers close at different rates and often arent even unless held straight or when the are balled up

if you hold out your own hand in a neutral position youll notice this

like in your current image there i would bend in the thumb and the pinky a bit, since they arent directly being weighed down by vedal

Thanks for everyone voting, This did help with a bit of tunnel vision I had. The result I'm gonna use is going to be half way. (Without fumo corruption I personally checked)

The goal of that over the top filter was to deal with sensor noise a bit, seems like I over committed to it. Luckily I did way too much and already made it variable so I just reduced the effect.

im probably the wrong person to say this but i guess ideally you dont want to "Chicken Scratch" or put down tons of tiny lines to form the main line, so overall try to do one line and you can always chicken scratch to sketch it out and then draw proper line art over it.

and then when you get to the lineart, it your device has pressure sensitivity, try to make lines that would be further away smaller whereas closest lines bigger

and i want to preface, i love the drawing and i dont mean any hate or anything, just trying to give the criticism you asked for

I repeated that mistake so many time because I was ,and kinda still, a bit indecisive on planning a sketch.
Try sketching/drawing in long single line is much better because it avoid a confusion when you try to draw the actual line and determent the depth and dimension of the drawing better.

No, using someones art as reference is actually good, in case if you learning in process and not just mindless tracing, and I wouldn't recommend using the AI art, or you'll copy their mistakes. "Good artists copy, great artists steal."

I follow some NSFW artists, they train a Lora on their own art to speed up some parts of their process

this one artist uses it for first approximations for shade lines

It's ok to use someone works as reference as long as you can make your work distinct and not appear like blatant copy.
Heck, you can use irl pose as reference too if you want to.

yeah, some artist using AI for some parts of painting, and i actually cant blame them, unlike most AI "artists" they understand what they are doing and use it as a tool, not a robot doing all the work for them

nobody worked hard on the AI slop. I can more in clear consciousness copy poses from that, substituting wonky anatomy with my own understandings of anatomy. Nobody made that art, so I feel less bad.

I mean it's fine if you think like that. Sometime people can be hesitance on how to make their work transformative enough from the ref you use.
But here's a thing, you cannot draw something that you have not see yet. It's impossible to draw a wacky idea without learning on how they suppose to work and how they suppose to look like.

Hmm... maybe try using cartoon-ish model as a reference, sketch the ref, then sketch the sketch of the ref before but adding/subtracting exaggerate feature until you think it's fitting. That might work.

I feel you on this but also I've come to realize that accidentally copying a pose/drawing 1-to-1 is actually...quite hard?

Like, at some point of being an artist, it takes more effort to consciously copy things than it does to make them yourself, and as such, your reference images and final products tend to be unrecognizably different.

I find that typically when looking for a pose to reference, there's already certain aspects that I'm specifically looking for help with (maybe the torso needs to twist in a weird way, maybe the head is at a difficult angle.) Once I get that sorted via ref, the rest follows easily. It's not always perfect, but it's certainly not "cheating." Sometimes you just push and pull a pose around in your brain for a bit to understand it
