“Bring me the Platinum Cookie!”
You should
The story is genuinely interesting
What should I draw today during lunch
nah im good
i dont think i can afford another gacha
draw me nodnod, how's that
Evil neuro
Mm can I drop my link to my wattpad stories here?
I think so... this place is also for writers
Probably as long as it follows server rules
💔
I’m just gonna drop my favorite personal story
Please DM me if you want to give me ideas or suggestions
If my memory serves she was more angry about the new haircut but I thought embarrassed might be cute
I made around 30 projects this year annnd im feeling strangely accomplished like, im in a chilling phase
Kinda feel guilty for not being productive tho
sounds like mixed feelings... I think it's good that you are avoiding burnout... taking breaks isn't being lazy blah blah blah XD
Definitely should draw more before the end of the year
Mostly wanting to just draw Azu in different outfits and forms though

Yes, anyways let me do 4 projects at the end of the year
Jk
I got a ton of ideas for Christmas but i won't be able to make them all
So its just one maybe
been drawing evil neuro and sometimes neuro-sama mainly quite a while so it's like... trying to figure out what else to draw that still is liked by twitter algorithm... might draw some gender bend characters because that's kind of fun I suppose XD
im..done
woah XD
it's so hard to explain but there is this sense to "know" when art "feels" done enough... like one could just keep rendering and stuff... then turn what already looks good another mess to give it different look instead
I try to get at least one artwork done per week so... I'm on track for that XD some weeks I do more, it's just that I also like play video games and stuff
gotta draw something christmas themed but I find halloween much easier to get inspired by
Christmas outfit… something with a lot of fur trim or puffballs at least probably
Also I want to try more situational art but I can never think of anything specific for some reason
I tried a new pen for inking and it's so much harder
Kinda fumbled I think but I'm gonna finish it
Just a little personality on this one

I will now attempt to draw a cyclops girl. Wish me luck
you got this!
Okay, here is what I have so far.
comically small giraffe head
Fixed her legs and gave her pockets
chrchie tarot. still thinking about minor changes atm, but i think im satisfied for the most part
thanks ramen
Feels weird repeating the same pose for the third time but I gotta learn how to use traditional tools

I wanna share my neuro doodles here too, but I couldn't upload files tho. Is there a reason?
they have embed perms role
Oh, okay thanks!
your artstyle just became my new obsession
Update: her name is now Maple
I drew Connor from detriot become human cuz I wanted to practice facial anatomy idk what I should work on apart from making the eyes actually match and eyebrow and everything actually- hes kinda chopped 😭🙏
Woah
the queen requested this one in color so i had to do this quickly in csp
AWW thats so cutee!
oh... evil neuro reacted to one of my artworks during stream... oh it was before I noticed stream was going on
never seen spambots on pixiv
seems to be some bs about verifying my account
obvious scam
be careful i guess

im not terribly big on there so i cant imagine why im a target
i was like, that's clord
I first thought I fell a sleep or something during that par but she just reviewed art really early... anyway she thought it was about neuro serving poisoned food... sometimes image recognition system struggles with art

they seem to be especially confused when it comes to differentiate if it's evil or neuro, idk why though
maybe they are not aware of their model ?
it's probably a system that tries to recognize what's on screen, image, etc... then that system provides her a text based description about it...
so yeah, trained system like that requires of course a lot of training data to be more accurate especially detecting art about them that doesn't use their official designs... if vedal is training his own system for image recognition then that's quite expensive lol XD
after adding some base colors the artwork already looks so much better https://puu.sh/KEW7r/69d5cf78bd.png
Cute
shading woo
Wip, it's something for an exhibit, medium: watercolor
First time using markers, will definitely not be last. I have never enjoyed shading as much as I did on this
Cute

okay... I gotta focus to get the artwork done lol...
Medusa is one of the monsters you can tame in Aethermancer! Check Aethermancer out here: https://aethermancer.gg/
This is A AMAZING take on medusa
Someone should recreate this masterpiece

i love so much your art style
thank you
It's not symmetrical but thats fine
I gonna open my commission soon
, planning to use paypal since it the most popular but I also hear many bad thing about it, should I use it and what you guy using?
PayPal is the standard but if you use personal it will reveal your real name
If you use business they will take a cut to the sale
I think is around 5%
ic ic
Hence the meme:
well it not so bad wwww
Replying to a message that long ago😭🙏
setting up a business paypal wasnt that horrible
then you can make invoices that you can take your name out of
although ive never used it

i still see my client name on the email through vgen
vgen use paypal after al
but idk if they see mine
i had one client from kofi and they can see it
(not like im hiding my name anyway lmao)
somebody do the Rick and Morty "what is my purpose/to pass the butter" meme but it's filian, neuro and "to find iron"
yes
yeah i can change it
yeah, its like the smallest heart shape you can actually obtain but il what u mean, it is large
kk, it didnt take that long to make, Nimi Nightmares skin was more difficult

i even made mine, im cube now
Guys planet Minecraft is down for maintenance, ill have to upload it on skindex
.
#gaming message
for more of my skins (does vedal look at this chat?)
I barely have any OCs, I just made a few to test different shading styles for hair
otherwise I just make skins from other peoples arts or models
neat
i wanna see your oc sometimes
[does this work better btw]
uh sure lemme get links
https://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/oc-6620685/
OC 2 is a swumsuit so no post
https://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/oc-3-6640341/
my first OC, idk what to name it experimental hair style Edit missing some leg shading on one side Download skin now!

oh yeah here's the link for this one

i like the way I made the dress, it ended up working out

Neuro needed that Mining Cap and Vedal loves his sticks

Mines been on for weeks 😭
hi everyone, trying to make neuro with lava lamp legs and just want to ask what do you think about it so far?
i would personally make metal parts brighter, they seem a bit too dark for her outfit - attracting more attention than the lava lamps themselves
besides that, i think its really cool
mecha neuro
not the lava lamp sama
Are lava lamps producing any heat?
ganggang
ganggang
holy cow! XD
learning rigging for the first time. want to animate something with neuro in the future. its so fun.
I envy you artist…always got to draw something so beautiful and unique
I might be able to write good stories. But not a lot of people understand them
But as a writer
We do go hand on hand
We need artists for actual books and stuff after all
i mean i can't draw exactly but I get it sort of, people do like their visual media... i think what matters (for me specifically) is the quality, if people can read it and just go, "its good" im happy
you never know tho, i used to be a writer up untill 3 years ago, then i started drawing
look at comic/manga artsts, writer and artist in one
I have horrible drawing so I could never inflict that upon the world
oh... I can relate to this... a few years ago I started to practice to draw better than stick figures and writing took kind of backseat... so I have been giving descriptions for my drawings about them while a few people bother to do that
same thing
i wanna show my manga but no self advertising in neurocord
i mostly want critique on how i could improve my writing
i dont make money off it or anything, so idk if i can share my manga
Ig u could ask a mod if its possible to share, I don’t see why not
yeah i mean people share fanart of other stuff and also writing
dont see why manga specifically be seen as self advertising
I read ur manga and it's really great and is pretty relatable
Really like the main character's deformations
ty! i don't think i can share it here unfortunately, its too gory
Happens
I liked the gory parts and what they served naratively
If ur manga was on one Russian site where i usually read manga I would have definitely listed it as favorites
tyty
tbh i was pretty confident about it
but i lost the kyoto manga contest with it

that did a big blow to my soul ngl
Unfortunate
But even like that u still did a really great job
The visuals are great, it's pretty easy to read (for me at least), and the story itself is pretty charming
idek if it made it to the editors to be reviewed in the first place
there's a chance it failed out the gate just because its r rated
but on the occasion that it did i loose anyway
I personally never took any contests like that seriously
a lesson learn
i seriously gambled on it so hard
that when it failed im so heartbroken
I obviously haven't really faced what u have with this contest
But if I were to fail in some competition like that I wish to know why did I lose
But then I'm thinking about what if I'll disagree with the judges and so that's why I don't care really
yea sadly i wasnt provided with any comments on why i failed and what i should improve
Yeah this sucks
anyway, ty for reading, i really appreciate it
I don't really know what I didn't like about reading ur manga so i can't really give a critique outside of praising
oh ur friend with nico 😮
Nico was the one who showed ur manga to me
Really like what ur doing
Hope ull move on from that to continue doing great things like this

okay... what to draw? that's the question XD
Welp, I don't do Chibis that often, but I did my best this time
https://x.com/Chadpiece1/status/1998080013787337102?t=jakrAZFk0nzoZp2vzy4jkQ&s=19
I think you did well
Don't know why the embed doesn't work for me
Gun practice
I would prefer something thick and rough like water color paper but smooth paper work too
Something art I guess
Very nice graffiti-esque text

I'm glad you put it in a readable font next to it
I'm try to something new www, though graffiti text is really hard to come up with
proot :D
proot :3
am i cooking? (this is a work in progress)
it's been a second since I got back into drawing for the fun of it, did some Neuros on scratch between other projects
True and real https://fixupx.com/tentenchan2525/status/1997990175402824143?t=mC-8-qItKp8tKCekAyboPw&s=19
I flip my canvas so much and so fast that it exists in a superpositioned state
Schrodinger's canvas
Schrodinger's canvas is just a thought experiment, just like me with art during art block 😭 🥀
I've just found out I'm shadowbanned on twitter
If you open my profile on incognito it shows no posts at all
teto sv2
it seem like everyone is like that, probably because you not log in
it's just so this community doesn't get flooded with spam... once you post enough a bot automatically gives you emblem perms
just chat a little more
I'm getting better with markers, maybe soon I'll be able to draw people with them too
A set of gray markers with 6 shades from very light to basically black, and pens when I need something sharper and fully black
I just bought the cheapest monochrome set I could find at the bookstore and they work great
if thing go well my cms will open in two or three day thank you guy for answer my question all this time wwww
oh, i have exactly the same
fellow tradition artist wwww
do u have any advice ? that looks really great
I flip flop between traditional and digital depending on how I feel
I do both I like lineart in tradition and color in digital
I sketched all major shapes with the lightest gray I had and then just started adding darker tones to places that needed that. I made sure to not touch areas that were in the brightest light because the paper is the whitest I can go. I also tried not to draw details, as you can see all the small trees are just a bunch of pen marks
going from lightest to darkest is good because that reduces the risk of accidentally making an area darker than it's supposed to be
I can't really give advice on how to shade because I don't even know how I got it to look that good
bro thats so good
wwww background is really hard to do for me too
with complex stuff it's easy to get lost in trying to draw the actual things in the image and end up with something messy and hard to read. It's better to draw the general effect different things have in the image, I don't know how to explain it well
I think getting the general shapes right with light that makes sense will give a better result than trying to get all details right with a pen
if a drawing doesn't look good from a distance, something is wrong
I think it's a good approach, you can always add details too but if you start from the details the drawing can easily become too busy- or messy-feeling
and for example if you draw a forest or a tree, there's no way to actually draw everything in the picture
tens of thousands of leaves and a million blades of grass
Literally have nothing to do at work so uhhh might as well sketch stuff
Very nice. I’m the opposite honestly. It’s much harder for me to make landscapes than people.
Same tbh.
I can draw people with pencils, but a face is a lot harder for me to simplify into something doable with markers than for example a forest. Trees can be whatever and they still look like decent trees, a face not so much
For me a face is much more predictable than a landscape. It’s easier for me to break down a face into basic shapes and planes because even if people’s faces are slightly different it’s all roughly the same structures. A landscape just looks like a chaotic mass that overwhelms me.
you do have a point here

wet
doodles
this took too long to make but it was so fun
anyone have any reference for the outfit the twins have on the NEVER video?
thats amazing
Heyoo o/, I’m looking to comission an artist who can make a background that can be used for an osu! map. Timespan for this is really short(1week only). If you know anybody who can do that pls dm me.

cough I can do illustration cough

You have some examples?
Maybe we have 2 weeks if I can stall
Can't upload here unfortunately. I got a vgen if you want to check
Could do two art styles
Character outfit design makes me want to bang my head
duude what's the best way to protect my digital tablet
because i have to replace paper everytime i tear a hole through it
Feet
This is really cool, I have a really hard time drawing feet and shoes
it feels good to pick base colors https://puu.sh/KFePz/deda193342.png
WIP
horse girls
random trivia... centuries old art depicting horses going fast looks so odd because they had hard time to visualize what it looks like due the motion is so fast... so they depicted horses running like they are almost stomach planting
Not an artist by any means but I keep seeing so much cool art on instagram and it made me WANT to be one so I impulse-bought a drawing tablet 👍 tips are appreciated, I literally have no clue what i'm doing LOL
that's insanely good then XD
my recommendation would be to just go at it and get a good feel for the tablet first
thank you so much!!! I literally got my tablet last night and this is the first thing I drew lol
yeah it's a bit disorienting drawing something on the table while looking up at the screen lol but i'm getting the hang of it I think
Once you learn the hang of it, it's an indispensable skill
That's really the only learning curve
The benefits of better posture and your hand not blocking your process is soo good
yes I really love being able to see completely it's super nice
if you want help from us its better to ask specific questions, teaching is a skill in itself so we might struggle with how to help unless youre asking about something quite specific
also youll probably end up looking up and or seeing tutorials on the internet and i wanna tell you to take those with a big heaping of salt
ah very true. I probably just need to watch some tutorials, i'm ok at drawing stuff by looking at it but I can't draw anything from imagination (yet). I guess starting with drawing 3d boxes and stuff is probably a good first step?
Drawing from complete imagination is a lie 🥀🥀🥀 it's all reference upon reference
I joke
it doesn't help that the last time I held a pencil/pen for more than 10 minutes was back in highschool 😭 my hand was hurting after drawing that
You need muscle training
Which means just drawing anyways
Are you a complete beginner?
so often i see posts on like twitter where its "how to draw X", and its just their own drawing process with not a bit of actual teaching.
Lol
yep. I mean I used to doodle stuff occasionally when I was a teen, but i'm 30 now and have not drawn a single thing since...
never too late
that's my mindset!!
You can trace to start with with mindfully questions why the artist did that
Breakdown a piece by drawing simple shapes over them and get a feel
i think for a complete beginner they gotta take it a few steps back im not gonna lie
like the box exercise
A piece of art looks better if the entire thing looks bad and complete rather a single piece is complete and the rest is bad
or like literally just practicing straight lines
Yeah that too
its harder than you might imagine
That's a better idea
I think another important thing is really learning the software i'm using too, I am using krita (i'm on linux) and outside of like the occasional edit when gimp wouldn't suffice, I haven't touched it at all... half my drawing was fighting with the keybindings and getting stuff to switch lol
Ah krita is a learning process in itself
i neglected the boxes for several years and when i finally got around to doing it
my whole world changed
I wanna focus on easy stuff like that if possible becausee the neuro drawing took me like... 3 hours
Yeah especially when you tried to use single shaky lines strokes
its a time consuming hobby
the undo button was my friend
dont feel a need to rush
A lot of beginners try to compensate by drawing multiple lines and strokes over each other
that's mostly why i'm wanting to try to focus on smaller stuff (like boxes) right now as I definitely don't have 3 hours of free time to draw every day 😭
The more sketchy feel and have the brain complete the drawing rather than training their hand for a strong stroke
i think the most important thing youll need though is patience
💯
cuz you will almost certainly feel like youre progressing at a snails pace and feel like quitting
a lot
this is definitely something i'm struggling with
and thats exactlty where the patience comes in
youre not gonna develop line confidence in a week or even a month
yeah I know it's gonna take a long time, i'm making sure I keep myself grounded.
plus I don't have my goals set all that high, when I see an artist's "sketch" I think "ok that's my goal, i'm fine with that as the final output" lol
I really love scratchy "unfinished" art so I consider it a win for me
There are artists who definitely make that style work
But remember they still have a lot of skills under their belt to do that
yeah, the issue is making it both sketched AND not a mess lol
I have no delusion of being able to reach that level any time soon. I'm also learning to play the piano so i'm already used to progressing at the speed of a dead slug... lol
A friend of mine decided to do that and it took him some time to get that done
art is kinda deceptive in how difficult simple looking stuff is
He still was an artist for 5 years + tho with great line confidence before attempting to change his style
I don't even know what kind of pens/pencils they use to get that look, i've looked through krita's and couldn't find anything similar...
can you send some of it
like art examples? yeah i'd have to go hunting on my instagram

I see it a lot with vocaloid artists, for some reason
At this stage I wouldn't worry with what kind of brushes/pens artist use, just stick to the basics
yea i was about to say
Idk if krita comes with the basic ones tho
brushes are pretty hard to use honestly
Hard brush, hard brush with opacity
ought to stick to the hard round
Yeah
yeah that's what I drew neuro with
it does have ones with pressure-sensitivity
but i'm not good at that yet lol
id maybe put the pressure sensitivity on to get a feel for it
if you dont like it you can turn it off though
Besides that's how it is irl and traditional tools
no need to force it at this stage
ok found a decent example of the kind of art I mean (I do hope the text doesn't say anything bad, can't read it) artist is Waimoniku
yea im pretty sure thats just the g pen
which is just a hard round with pressure sensitivity
ah see I think my issue is the pen I was using with pressure sensitivity didn't change the size when pushed, just the opacity
From what I can see there's still skill here, there's more lines in the darker areas/ areas on shadow
at least when you practice drawing straight lines keep the pressure sensitivity on
and try to control the line thickness as you draw it
oh yeah definitely, I just meant that a lot of people would have this as a "before the final draft" whereas this is my goal
i'll definitely try that, my biggest struggle right now is drawing continuous lines
drawing neuro's hair was a nightmare
speed is very key in getting clean continuous lines
otherwise they turn out wobbly
that or you can crank stabilisation to max
but i personally dont like the look of it
I'd vote against that lol
Especially if you like the more messy sketchy look, stabilization can turn against that
Plus it trains your hand
i've watched a few people draw on streams before and i've noticed when they're drawing long lines they like draw x undo like 50 times to get it "perfect"
Undo is big
sometimes it be like that
undo is the one single button I have mapped on my tablet so far lol
I also really struggle with straight horizontal lines as well
I forgot the specific one for krita
it's annoying because naturally when i'm trying to draw something horizontal I wanna rotate the "paper" so I can do it vertically instead but I can't do that unless I rotate the canvas lol
guess I should probably just get better at drawing from all directions
well rotating the canvas is pretty useful id do that
I also need to figure out how to manage zooming, having to move to my mouse to zoom in and out was such a massive pain...
I keep getting advertised that little box thing on instagram that has like a dial and joystick and stuff lol
Yeah lol
i think you can set it up so you can like hold some key and then drag with your pen to zoom
i did that when i still had a screenless tab
hmm I might do that then, i'd like to not touch my mouse at all when drawing if possible
granted i'm left handed so it's not too inconvenient to do but
250 usd
jesus
Yeah thats what I used to do
oh in that case i'd actually invest in some controller
I do have a ps4 controller, time to map that I guess lol
A game controller is fine
thats just the priciest one though
Yeah lol
the lite is 70 bucks at the moment
The PS4 controller should suffice tho
i'm very broke so anything cheap would help lol. the tablet I bought by the way is the Huion Inspiroy 2 M
you can ctrl + enter to search for shortcut if that help
If your starting out, use what you have untill you get pissed off a lot it hinders your progress
Youre
Then make some bad financial decisions
well my issue mainly was the fact that my mouse only sorta worked if I had my pen near the tablet so in order to zoom in/out with the mouse I had to move my pen AWAY from the tablet, then zoom, then put it back down lol
insane
so you can make it work without splurging a ton
i personally use a razer tartarus
its one of those mini gaming keyboards
Oof I looked at those digital drawing controller things once, doesn't seem worth unless you're deep into professional level work.
one could say buying a tablet in the first place was a bad financial decision when I own a pencil and paper... lol but undo is so nice to have, I hate erasing
use ur keyboard like ctrl + space to rotate and ctrl + shift to zoom
Depends, what tablet did you buy
i skipped traditional and dove straight into digital too if it makes you feel any better

.
I like keyboard shortcuts, I just mapped mine to wasd and around that because I'm already so used to using everything there for games.
It's very much worth if you have the money to spare
been using keyboard for the longest time and it still fine
it was only like 70 total so i'm happy with it
I started out with an OSU tablet that was like 20 bucks
I wonder if a tourbox would work well with an iPad (if at all…)
I mainly just cared about getting a tablet that worked well on linux (kinda failed on this part cuz the scroll wheel doesn't work but oh well...)
Depends on which one you buy
i'll have to watch how much I draw though because I have some wrist problems and i'd have to aggravate it by drawing too much
Learn to use your shoulder
draw with your feet
noted, will focus on that
Which one????
oh draw WITH your feet...
To each their own, I've never tried one. I'm relatively comfortable with keyboard on the side so it's not for me.
Comes to it, the best option is whatever feels most natural and you don't have to get distracted thinking about when working.
also another issue is I need to get a glove or something cuz my hand is a bit too grippy for the tablet sometimes
I resorted to putting receipt paper under my hand while I drew neuro lmao
worked well enough
My personal thing is that it's worth if you use it more than you paid for it in hours, which I definitely have
Glove is much needed but you can make do with a sock
you could cut up a like a mitten to make a budget drawing glove
ah didn't think of that
Finished the other one
like take one of these and chop off all but the pinky and ring fingers
True
Ahhh, memories. That is exactly what my first drawing glove was, worked out alright, bit warm tho.
sadly I own no mittens, I think a drawing glove is actually about the same price as a pair of mittens lol
i only got the separate keyboard because i hated using my drawing monitors side buttons
Sock
gotta find a spare sock that I don't mind ruining first 😭
Check your dryer's insides
at this point i'd rather slap down like 8 bucks on a glove lmao
Lube ur tablet is also a way to do wwww
TRUE
im sure you have like one pair of socks where the other one is somwhere in the backrooms
industrial grease on my drawing monitor
that crazy
I personally use peanut butter
It buffs out the scratches in the middle
anyways I will continue practicing, i'll switch to a pressure-sensitive pen on krita when I eventually find one and will draw epic 3d boxes
No gloves is okey just get used to it www
I have callused that part of my hand so it glides easily
well it was mainly from my hand getting slightly sweaty
Is it setup posting time?
otherwise it was fine

probably because you are not used to the digital drawing, it alway fell to smoth when I first switch to it
I got a Dokiglove, can’t draw on any tablets without it now lol
I actually really enjoyed the smoothness, it was when my hand was catching that I was struggling lol
my hand kinda drags on it too and i found that annoying
glove solves that
btw remember to wash your gloves
are you telling me the stank won't give me extra drawing powers?
I used whatever my drawing tablet came with or something
Or some cheap one from Amazon
smooth hand supremacy www
trust me youll see why when you do
this is what i'm doing right now
Youre supposed to wash them 💀
key word "supposed to"
you dont gotta like wash them after every use
just on the occasion
just some water in the sink and let it dry works in my experience
My man hands to rough
frankly all these issues is still 100x better than having lead smeared on the side of my hand
I should draw soemthign, shitty or else my skills will actually be lost 😭
Art block is rough
Same
My tablet is so fuck I'm not even care anymore www
Just have something to default to www
im a carpenter my hands get fucked up this trade
Need like
A cute outfit to put my vtuber in
Oh I can't compare to that, nvm about me
when I was younger I just enjoyed drawing random objects around my house
It's my mental thing tho
somewhere deep in my old stuff is the world's most detailed drawing of a honey mustard bottle
I don't want something too easy or too difficult
I can see where you like to draw
i gotta draw too but ive really been too tired
theres a horse racing club near me that i attend on wednesdays
we get to like take care of the horses but its pretty physical
Started a new job and my schedule has been busy and have me pooped
it like fully cover the midle part so wwwwww
Playing Minecraft has been saving grace
i started my civilian service this week too
Life 😔
think im gonna start gow ragnarok and play that while im getting used to it
Life by Neuro 😲
i actually like my service place though
its the trade school i went to and i really like that place
glove purchased 🙏 anyways, thank you all for the help!

been try to drop out lately I realize I dont really enjoy studied at collage after 3 year....
college stinks but i'm going because I know if I don't then i'm at a disadvantage
Depends on the major
Dang 30 at college, respect
yep dropped out when I went right after highschool, decided I had to go back - if not now then when? lol
More respect
well fellow cs drop out
Had a few older classmates, good peeps
plus unless you got connections it's really hard right now so I figure a degree will at least help me a bit
Usually degree plus successful personal projects help
so I suffer through stupid courses I couldn't care less about while I juggle learning multiple hobbies that take 10+ years to perfect
it drive kinda drive me mad lately like I just want to draw in peace wwww
very understandable. I put off one of my classes for an entire month because I couldn't will myself to open my stupid school portal lol
I need to be time limited and deadlined or else I won't be able to draw at all
trueeeee
I struggle with drawing too though, if I don't force myself to sit down and just DRAW then it's never happening
it's so easy to just go "wow I spent hours on this and it is pretty mid, time to go do something i'm already good at" LOL
not that drawing is unique at all in this regard
I'll become depress if I dont draw for a long time
very understandable
although i've never spent much time drawing so it was never a big draw for me. Then again I really struggle with doing things that take a long time to get good at
I do have a good spawn point lol, so maybe doing cms for a living is viable
Spawn point lmao
trigger word for vedal, filian, and crelly
also what program/s does everyone here use for drawing?
clip studio paint
krita
wow it has built in 3d figures?? that's neat
Clip studio paint since forever myself
csp has helped my personal work flow a lot
but ive used photoshop, krita, ibis, medibang, and other stuff
the files are lightweight compared to photoshop
I have a friend that always used painttool sai and I don't know what her reasoning was
Is it free?
krita
no
Likely just used to it then
nice to see fellow.... kritters?
i guess ?
the only benefit I can see is 1st-class japanese lang support? but she's american so... lol
Swapping a program is probably super hard even if the other is better
very true
hope krita is good enough for my use case
mainly because there aren't much other options for linux lmao
it's a really good alternative imo
my first is medibang but I switch to krita when I do digital more www
I mean all you really need is the hard round pen and the airbrush
Skill can make up for the rest
surely krita also has support for extra brushes so
i'm sure I could find some, the joys of open-source software
Make your own art program
SURELY I can vibecode a program to match krita, nothing will go wrong
it's fine for smaller programs but no way in hell are you gonna make something as comprehensive as krita with only it haha
I made a points system for my bot that didn't have any checks for negative numbers
Someone put me 300 million in debt
beautiful
I should make a banking app
to be fair even without vibecoding it's easy to make mistakes like that if you don't have tests
gets the best of us... anyways back to art, time to doodle some boxes

fell like art is really hard in the coming up with idea part often take really long
Felt
Not uncommon for me to spend a good few hours just sitting there trying to come up with something
if I can imagine something in my brain and then proceed to draw it, I will finally be able to consider myself at the level I want to be at
I am going to try so hard to not give up, I need to display my tablet somewhere in my room so I start feeling guilty if I don't use it...
you can add extra brushes yes
felt like you dont need that much brush like I just need the pencil and the round brush and the dry roller to color
me trying hard to learn how to replicate stuff some use fancy brushes to achieve XD it's quite fun to observe and then mentally figure out how to achieve something similar ^^
another question, anyone have any recommended resolutions/canvas size they use for drawing? I was having issues with my drawing getting a bit too pixely when zooming in (which can obviously be fixed by making a bigger canvas and using bigger brush sizes) but I wanted other peoples personal usecases
mines like up in the 3000 to 5000
how beefy ur computer is also affects it i think
pesonally I use 5625x4500 but anything more than 2000 is enough
I think I probably just drew too small as well... my canvas was 1440p size but my actual drawing was small in the middle lol I don't know why I did that...
at one point I was drawing with a 1px width pen
terrible
I will remember this for later
learn to zoom out man www
yeah lol you have the whole canvas to work with
make sure you have a window that shows your entire drawing
common mistake is too zoomed in
and the entire piece is unbalanced
justy resize your sketch to fit the canvas www
the issue is I was just drawing neuro based on her size in the stream I was watching, I was drawing a bit smaller at first because it was helping me gauge how big I needed to make things but by the time i'd realized that I was zoomed in too much it was too late lol
then you gotta deal with anti aliasing and imperfect scaling lol
it a sketch so no problem
my raw drawing looks pretty messy up close lol my screenshot is zoomed out pretty far so my mistakes are less visible 👌
oh you mean sketch lol
and use high dpi like 300 or more
i'll just have to remember to not zoom in next time, I genuinely don't know why I was thinking "oh my pen is tiny, time to zoom in!" instead of "make the pen size bigger" lmao
we believe in you
ur neuro drawing is tons better than my first one when i started lol
drawing things by looking at them is my biggest strength, and well only strength lol
was doodling around drawing something before I started working on neuro and it looked like a 6 year old's kindergarten project...
I can look at things or draw stick figures, no in between
still WIP
me after taking my vitamin c

gachiakuta characters are so hard to draw
They got sick style
escape from tarkov™
how do artists do art studies im so lost
depends on what you're studying
Essentially its just a bunch of experimental sketches to either practice specific things or play around with your style or other styles
So you really could consider a bunch of random doodles a “study”, as long as it benefits your art skill
figured it out
@untold badge #1333011509684731924 message this one?
This isn’t Neuro related but I want to show off this WIP because I am really proud of this texturing
Recipient will be MasaeVT
Older shot but this is what the full picture will look like. The computer is showing stuff from her previous branding and the figurines on the desk are characters she plays in DND
YEAAAAAHHHB
thank u bunches
Hey artist alley, where do you get your references?
the reference store
typically i just google and dodge the ai pics
but i also have a big pureref board with tons of official hoyo art
its professional art and they post it at a pretty good res so it makes for really great general reference
idk, google and artstation i guess ?
pinterest and google lul
horse!
What's that soccer anime running scene uma musume gets compared to? Blue lock?
maybe blue lock havent watch ss2 so idk wwww
It was like a slideshow PowerPoint
frame lock www
LOOOOOOL
looool
I have currated my Twitter to be about artist and pages who posts alot of art studies and art tutorials, I get references just from scrolling and then put them into appropriate folders for future use

True
^^
pinterest is enuff, but mostly i just pose in the mirror and use it as ref
Rice shower my beloved ^^
Very often I can't find the specific pose I need 😭
that's when you take photo of yourself doing the pose you need
My flesh can't fulfill the mechanisms of my inner mind
your flesh is a prison that contains your potential, break free from the chains that bind you. ascend and fulfill whatever your mind so desires
or you can use a 3d model you can move around for reference
That's what I've been doing so far but I've been wanting more realistic stuff
The 3d models in csp isn't cutting it for me
then do what i do, use yourself as model, it's why i draw myself a lot than any other characters
That’s beautiful. I love the crystalline aesthetic you’ve done with it. It looks really nice.

that face is real
first time ive painted a figure like this, noit entierly happy with the face, eyes are hard!
Not interested in drawing myself nor would myself be an anatomically accurate lol
Plus I tend to want the camera to be somewhere else or at a weird angle
I'm just a big dude who wants to draw cute anime girls 🥀
me too...
Time to go gym
I wish I could be as buff as that guy
lullll
Best grammer of my life

FINISHED IT
sketchingggg
Lulll
But I'm being for real though
Feliz Navidad 🤶
Feliz Navidad!
the holiday laziness kick in don't know if I can do the rendering www
I know you are and that makes it worse 😭
it just a habit since I do a lot of tradition art ^^
I'm just a digital poser 🥀
mood
You are like clean with it. It shows that you've been doing this for a long time non-stop.
been doing this 8 year man
Wow... impressive, m8
it really hard to get better when you this deep
, try to improve my render something
I am only now drawing bc I have a full time job now, not when I had like 6 months of free time
Have you tried rendering using only one tool
my wish is that I can draw all day and try to make it become real www
hmm, that would be really to break your comfortable zone. I feel ya.
I usually using dry roller and maybe air brush and my trusty pencil www
Just use a 0.3 mechanical pencil for everything
lul that like hell
Mine is pretty much opposite. I have part-time shift (somewhat) and college, so most of time I just go to my room to rest and never really do anything else.
My creative juices don't flow unless I got deadlines unfortunately
you can tell I'm a line art guy so render is so hard to do
Makes sense
.
I don't think I can draw more and coherently as much as I was before. I'm extremely rusted right now; And my focus kinda went all over the place.
how you find time to do anything, felt like collage eat all my time so I'm tryna drop out and I don't really like my major
Not to scare ya but having a job entails the same thing, so you really gotta schedule it
A friend also mentioned that since I've improved as time goes by, the time I need to sink into a piece is more than the shitty pieces I used to do
but school really suck up more time like you can go to work and go home but collage there homework assignment and many more random thing
True at times yeah
But the physicality of it too, after long lectures and homework, I could still have the energy to draw and play games
yeah and it drive me crazy ngl
yeah so i'm try find a way to do art as a job maybe I should make a portfolio and apply for some job if this cms thing not work out www
Obviously cuz you developed skills to spot the mistake and make your works looks closer to your ideal outcomes.
my art got comment with "you're welcome" instead "your welcome"... it truly is christmas season XD
After an hours work... Right 😭
Need for money and determination. Since I can't really change to another major again.
you can do it!
felt really frustrated every time I go to school, felt like life is so meaningless doing it
How rusted are you?
5.3/10
that rough ^^
See earlier reze
You can consider yourself successful if you manage to earn on comms as much money as McDonalds employee (and somehow dodge artblocks and burnouts) 🥀
Creative jobs are time consuming and need a source of income, either through built platform business or through jobs
Usually higher level jobs give you the time and money for someone to pursue something else
It does matter, even if you hated it.
Study to get a degree to get a stable job, art com is more of a side-job, so it's pretty unstable if that's your only way of gaining income.
yeah you guy are right ill try to become a graduated student ^^
God speed.
By no means focusing on education would mean dropping art, you kind have to focus on them both
Rn is the best time to do the portfolio thing you talked about
Setup now and work on it while in college
I don't think I can man wwwww
I just lost the passion for the subject I learn a long time ago
In the US it's common for people to switch majors around to figure stuff out, it's what college is for, idk if you are in US so idk if it applies to you
It's not common in other places I've been told
rgrk
not in the us so....
https://x.com/karasu_100/status/2000056160830046425 super clean art i saw today and perfect for the joke
In Thailand, it's common for first year to change their major if they found that past major is not for them.
Good god, what the hell????
My Japanese friend asked " you can do that??" When I told him about college here
learn that out too late like I can do it but not enjoy it wwww
If that's the case, you really have to endure it.
Idk the full story so eh
What's the major in question?
yeah I'm cook
cs something
Computer science?
close to it
Isn't that a field with a lot of options?
yeah it killing me though
Wdym
I forgot a word
is it like cs electrical engineering
what?
ur major
i don't understand the question man

What major (like Architect, Liberal Art, Art, etc.) did you choose?
I think that exists in extreme sport category somewhere.
If I not wrong it computer science?
wwww?
There ya go.
I don't think I can keep my mental healthy juggling between school and art, the school work is really hard ngl
I really try for almost three year and I don't think it working ^^
Oh... well then.
I have this month to figure thing out so
What do you need to graduate?
2 more year of study
used to do two job related to this major and it really boring should have drop out at that point
You can't switch majors where you are?
They told me in my field at least to stay in it and try to find something along with it
I don't think so it different here
well I don't think ill work in this major even if I graduated so it quite bad
What's ur plan for a a stable income?
well I can apply for some pc store or something coding related if I graduated
if I drop out like I can be a kombini worker or grab driver or some random job
oh dear, think fast about your future job as early as possible.
not really been thinking for long ass time wwww
Think now best
like I dont really have to pay rent and stuff so I dont really need that much money
Imo dropping out doesn't seem to be good outcome
Maybe so but better to have money when you don't need it
Rather than not have it when you need it
I dont think I need money that much like life here is cheap and I dont plan to have a girlfriend or even make a family any time soon so the ungrad is still score enough money
No, no, no, no. That kind of thinking is not good m8 :(
I think this is one of the situations where people say don't settle for less
You can plan all you want but life has their own plans
For example Covid
Well that just something you can control so like how much money is enough right
??
Like you can not prepared for everything
Doesn't mean you prepare less
