Just find some eyes and draw over them so you can allow your muscles memory and brain to understand how to draw them. then try to redraw them. Do that alot and it should help.

Instead of focusing on anime eyes, try to find tutorials that teach you about general rules of anatomy.

Anime, with all its exaggerations, is still based on the basic rules.

But, if you want a place to start, eyes are kind of like squashed hexagons with a square in the middle. If you can draw that in proportion to the head and correctly place it on the face, taking into account the perspective, it's easy from there.

this might work for some... I read recently that one way to learn art is to what you perceive as unfun learning due method by thinking how to apply it to what you find fun... like pay off is doing your artwork and seeing results of your learning which can be quite fun

Doesn't have to be their entire style. Just something specific that caught your attention. Do that with multiple artists on different things.

Sprinkle some of your own style and that should get you going.

Well it might seem like there's nothing wrong but you need to understand the general proportion and position of that part with the rest of the body. You can practice a single part but shouldn't only practice that part alone. For example don't practice eyes without the rest of the face cause you won't be able to proportion the eyes correctly when you draw the face.

Personally, for painting I would recommend Photoshop, for drawing Clip Studio Paint

Its a really nice allrounder especially if you wanna start (its quite intuitive as well) and it can go really far unless you wanna specialize into some areas where CSP or Photoshop are the better choice

Plus ist quite affordable, runs on a potato and its fairly easy to find uhhhh versions that dont need a license if you know what i mean

i started with GIMP back in the days. Horrible. Its better Now. If you need Free stuff Use KRITA. Not fun to learn. Horrible UI but it can do a lot. If you like ur sanity choose smth else

Switched to Photoshop, corrupted multible files. Can do a lot but increadebly uncomfortable to use (its not a drawing software and you feel it.) And i ended up not needing most of the Functionalities it brought me.

Switched back to SAI 2

Switched to Clip studio Paint for a long time. Its a one trick Pony. The closer what you are doing is to Web comic creation the more suited it is for you.

Switched back to using SAI2 because it just feels so much better and CSP occasionally if i need smth specific

Honestly, it took me by surprise how much the song reminds me of Frontiers' soundtrack, especially Rhea Island, the climax of the game.

The lyrics of NEVER, at least to me, tell a story of the twins bickering about whatever happened that got humanity (and their creator/father, by proxy) killed, while the context of Rhea Island is a desperate person doing everything they can to save their friend, even if it means losing themselves and accidentally summoning an eldritch god into their universe.
They both are related with short-sightedness, and both the twins and the person were missing the forest for the trees.

I just use MP3 for my exports here because often the source files I use are themselves MP3s, meaning I get no extra quality enhancement compared to just exporting MP3.

try them all. Get used to the UI. I use photoshop Cs6 cause I "know" it really well. Obviously, learning a new UI has its 'time' and downfalls with the time it takes, but, asking which one to use is like asking, "Whats the best paper" or "Whats the best pen?" Its never about the program or medium being a master, but rather you mastering the medium.
Recommendations and reason and what each program is good for is helpful, but to be honest, you can do most work in all the programs. Some just do things better than others.

ballpoint pen and cheep printer paper can be mastered. "bobby rebholz" the king of Creature design, he basically uses this most times. Imo, the 'real' trick at getting good, is the practice you put in.
Memorizing the fine muscle movements of your hand, being able to make the 'lines' exactly how your brain is wishing it to be made. This (i believe) is the most important part of "Getting good".

for the final look, thats up to whatever meduim you've mastered, or on your way to mastering.

think of it as working out

what gym is the best gym? Which 'pushup' works best? Motivation to keep pushing yourself, not for instant results and gratification, but the ability to grow muscles over time to produce a stronger movement, or action.

I have one - you can't apply filters and effects to layer folders / multiple layers at the same time

I love Ibis cause it works great on my tablet, (unlike CSP and Infinite Painter) but that's one thing that bothers me a lot

I can, but that's tedious and also you're left with a copy of a layer before the filters were applied, so if you want to change something you'd have to work on version without filters / effects applied, then merge them again and appy filters again.

I draw on my PC in 4K resolution... like 3840 x 2160 canvas usually... and I know some artists go higher than that and then downsample... and yeah considering how demanding it's on PC hardware not surprised phones would struggle with it

i gotta be honest with you, i never studied anatomy, what i did was simplify parts into basic shapes, understanding the structures improves a lot on your art, and it's super useful, famous method is the loomis method, understanding realism would serve a huge points too, you dont have to spend your time on anatomy cuz realistically nobody wants that xd it's boring
