estimate how many actively working hours it would likely be by experience and then multiply it with 30 or something if dollars or euros... then divide it by three or something as in reality most artists have to underprice their work if they want people to pay

to be honest this calculation is likely generous and when it comes to clients they range from pleasant experiences to people that you wouldn't want to interact with expect they have already paid you... assuming you expect money in advance which is also quite an ask to many artists

It’s literally what is taught at art schools. Taking someone else’s work and copying has always been bad if you’re selling something or not disclosing that it’s a copy when showing your work. Artists have been doing that long before AI. Taking inspiration from multiple references and molding it into your own creative work has always been fine, whether it’s an artist or AI, artists have been doing that forever. There is nuance, and the problem is with direct and uncreative use.

Yeah it is weird. Direct use and uncreative use is a real issue and it’s really sad that there are people who just lazily throw slop like that out into the internet.

That whole ghibli thing was sad, but hopefully stuff like that will die down as the hype does and it’ll just be commonly understood as illegible and poor practice.
