I really like how this drawing is turning out
I just saw a very good music video with Gawr Gura.
Devious smile. Feel free to copy
finally done with lineart, time to add everything else
looking good. I like the wall detail
Base color
cool ^^ I find a lot of vtuber music videos are quite good
I'm beat... gawr gura drawn
Random cat
Is that like…a vtuber model or sth?
issue with pay once models was that pricing was ridiculous back in the day... like years worth of subscription
but I get the sentiment
took seven or something hours drawing as I considered details https://x.com/Clord124/status/1914742521218978041
Aw guys look! She smiles just like her dad! 🥰
Once this stream ends I think I’m going to try making a rendition of the twins + nere
I want to reference all the various forms too
Cerber art
Gleep Glorp Sama
day 3 of trying to make a vtuber in a day without any modeling or rigging experience, scrapped about 70% of the progress i made in the last two days, currently remodeling for better rigging capability
cool art... btw it looks like her mouth is full or something... like she's hiding snacks like a squirrel XD I just found it funny ^^

working on tarot card sketch idea for ellie and wondering if front view or facing bottom right view is better
it's hard to understand what's going on on the second one
ah yeah messy sketch 😅. its a top down angle and shes just holding banjo while landing on the ground with one foot. dress is flowing behind her. the background stuff is just gears and random background elements.
yay
ill work on that one then
thx

hey i drew neuro :)
cutee
Should I post here? Idk if this is for fan only?
" Not exclusive to Neuroverse art." ^
Probably my half-effort on the blush lol
it's also due way you drew the jawline it just makes it seem like her face is so wide lol... but yeah it's well drawn
Oh is that so? Well Evil's small so I tried to go for a rounder face.
I'll try to make the faces sharper then.
tip:
go with a simpler design/art style because you will inevitably have to redo a bunch of stuff
there are also head/mouth charts that are super helpful for rigging angles
I think the jaw looks okay, but maybe give her more forehead because anime art style calls for huge heads. i think its the proportions that make the face look wide, but the jaw itself is okay
is this komi-san :o
No
But I do see it 😂
oh lmao
really nice value work on the clouds and mountains
Thanks 🙌✨
( if only I didn't get lazy on it 🐸)
I started to draw again
this the type of drawing that boils your brains if you look at it too long like in uzumaki
very neat
I like it

thanks for the tip! greatly appreciated
I have no idea what I'm doing lol
having "edges" of visible jawline to kind of curve, be it hair or something so it's less "L" shaped tend to generally look better over sudden 90 turn for example... kind of like having lineart to flow more smoothly if it makes any sense... like it's bunch of rivers? dunno if this analogy makes any sense...
basically idea is to indicate face does indeed curve specific way to give sense of how face might be shaped under all the hair
I kind of wana start experimenting with no line art, i spend way too much with my eraser tool now when fixing lines and i could use that time somewhere else, ocd is annoying at times
oh yeah it's quite a process to clean lineart if you want it to be clean... pun intended
getting rid of lineart it becomes another way to handle "borders" of character art where lineart would otherwise be
Agreed, also i am way too used to colour with lines as reference so it will be totally different for me
the style relies on shading a lot to replace need of lineart... otherwise it looks really weird lol
like base color version looks like a monster
mhm, only thing i can do now is start experimenting and see where it leads me
learning koko lore... kokonuts isn't even the only official name but the full name is less brand friendly so instead "kokonuts" is used in official logos and stuff lol
Okay finished drawing the pant now its tim e to do mediocre work for everything else

new to the swarm fr
Thanks!
also, I need critique, how do I improve on the hair?
so I just lurk
Ohh i see a fellow trad enthusiast
welcome
that's life sometimes, hahah.
more like a beginner still, on my 13th day of drawing I think?
nice
Ohh thats nii e
I wish you well on your art journey
I'm just bored when I started that AHAHAHAH
thanks!
I'm trying to think of something, but I barely have slept for the past few weeks
brain no braining
lmao
personally though, I think this is my best work for now.
(I don't even get how I did this fyi)
I think you can try removing unnecessary detail inside the hair, keep the strokes around the edge of the hair
Basically make a clear shape of hair
this ^

So… dumb question, but does the art we post in this channel have to be neuro related?
Includes music, 3d stuff, etc
Oooo, I'll try to do that.
Also stuff like songwriting/poems
Does art that you received also count?
(I've gotten a lot of art related to my OCs nowadays, quite happy with that imo.)

Oh yeah
make your lines rounder and softer, like drawing Cs
C is a basic shape of S anyway
but to draw the hair on both sides (idk what it called), its best to draw big Cs opposite each other
Hahah, true.
that way you can perform a visible shape of them
and also work on making your lines with less strokes
so it looks cleaner
use your entire arm for more stability as well when working on longer lines
yabai, ma arm is stiff 🥀
(from what others said to me anw.)
it is indeed something to get used to

for the OCs
fr
man, made me remember one of my friends who could make up an entire ass backstory for a character while jumping up and down like a gremlin for thirty minutes
I dunno how he does it
Anyway, was nice chatting with you guys. I shall now attempt to sleep (I'll be staring at my ceiling for three hours 💀)
also tip for doing a line with one stroke is... add more lineart details so you don't have to make them as long and your drawing is more detailed... XD
god i wish i can do that nowadays too
for a while I was really into writing but art hobby kind of took over... I have easy time to come up with "crap" if I feel like writing
Wait, like how?
well for example adding accessories and stuff... like when you draw arm... bare arm might be long... but with accessories or having a sleeve or something you can just make it in shorter strokes without it looking a mess
other one is also just keep practicing until you get good at doing long strokes with various curves and stuff... that is really part of it at times
with digital art there is benefit of undo
Hey I wanted to ask, I get ucomfortable when there isn't a border between my character and background when erasing line art in certain spaces, any advice?
oh i don't use lines at all
HOLY COLOURS
but just increase contrast i guess
Yee
THAT'S SO GOOD TSKR
thank you
Contrast by colors and shapes?
make different shaped blops... color them to look what you want them to be like... profit... basic idea anyway
Ig I'll just practice more with it
yeah
I started out with painting stuff before switching to using line art, now I'm going back lol
Ofc I wasn't any good so I'm back where I started
How would you increase contrast without making the colors look too dark
add fog (aerial perspective)
Fog?
What if in other environments like inside a building or something?
same
lines don’t technically exist in reality anyways. what most ppl see as lines are just separations of values or ambient occlussion so its totally possible to work without it.
Yeah not sure but I'm seeing something is lost when I erase my lines, idk what
it might be because the values and hues are too similar once the lines are removed, making them blend into the background. Sometimes that happens in reality too, which is where artists intentionally place borders back in, usually in the form of either lines, rim lighting, darkening the object itself, etc.
is there an example of this? It might be because there isn’t enough of a contrast between either the hue or values if it starts to blur together the way u say.
Like maybe the shadows aren’t dark enough, or there’s not enough areas of light to act as a separation between the character and the background
I can link my stuff holon
My Easter art ofc sune most recent one
I got others
ah i see, so if you remove the line right, a few things stand out that might help with your contrast.
First, your lighting appears to be a morning sky on top of a grassy area
however the lighting on the characters appear to be that of overcast lighting (AKA lighting without a specific light source)
if you were to actually include sunlight, the cast shadow would be much more sharp behind the characters for one
The faces would and hair would have more bright and yellowish highlight and light areas
Ahhh
and the shadows would be influenced partially by the green grass giving them a very small and very partial greenish hue. EDIT: Actually bluish shadows is fine cause their bodies are facing the sky, which is blue. The green would only be seen around the feet area anyways.
without this strong light and shadow contrast, the values tend to lie on the same area and things start feeling “blurry” as you say
The left one is more recent this year where im trying to experiment more without lineart, the right one is last year where i tired more painting on the background
tbh i just erased the lines and didnt bother try to fill things cuz i was end of rope on energy at that time for the left one
very often i would run into my things getting too dark or too light/ too at the edge of the color wheel
ive been trying to figure out how to use more muted colors/ inside the color wheel so i get more access to it rather than something so drastic, but then i run into really muddy and blurry colors
http://youtube.com/post/UgkxQqV5VDR3psTRJYeAxLYMnuui1r3yYJ7Z?si=SqMTEg1RDsQPxiY6
I dunno I just found this
I just found out it originated from twitter.
Big surprise.
A quick alternative of a lighting scenario under a sunny sky. all light and shadow must separate out objects and define forms. the grass, influenced by warm sunlight, is made more warm here. cast shadows are sharper because the sun is a strong light source. and shadows are leaned a bit more towards blue because of the influence of a blue sky. i didn’t remove the lines but if they did, you’d want to check how the twins contrast against the environment around them. the general tree shadows and their own cast shadows are darker in general to help sell that contrast against a bright sun.
i like the way u contrasted makima here because you used hue contrast (rather than lighting) which is another way to go lineless. cyan green and red are opposites which make makima stand out all the more in this image. and with the rim lighting added, you’ve basically created a pseudo-line border.
yeah i still used lines for makima here but made the color just a darker version of her dress
Pov: you spent all your stat points on everything else but hands:
ahhh i see the vision, thanks for this
i think i ran into that somewhere along my process but threw it away to pursue other stuff
at times i wish i knew what i was doing when lighting stuff
yeah lighting is annoyingly complicated
if its not direct lightning thats troubling me, its ambient occlusion
NP, lmk if you need help and don't give up!
here's my own first rig, i opted for a very simple style so i had less to separate but it STILL took me several months 😭
another tip: don't go too crazy with angles for now, especially for the y axis
any advice on how to warp things properly so it doesnt look wonky?
like the corners for example
by corners do you mean like, sharp edges?
no i mean in terms of the axis
character looking upper left etc
I would recommend referencing 3D models for head angles, but I understand if your head has unique proportions that may not work out for you. (It's why I'd recommend going for a really generic design for your first rig)
What I did for mine was
- Learn Blender
- Model a head using my drawing as reference
- Render the model at 25 different angles
- Import the images into Live2D
- Warp my mesh to follow the reference images
Huge pain in the ass and would not recommend but you can still try it if you have the time and patience
I'm sorry if this answer is disappointing 😭
No its really helpful
My first 2 rigs was all jacked up bc I didn't do any of that at all
Eyes and ermmm body part physics are somewhat simple enough
Yeahhh... My first pass at head angles was also really scuffed. The hardest lesson I learned was that eyeballing dynamic angles doesn't work out 😔
I was gonna make another project for l2d for my new rig and wallpaper engine
looks fricking beautiful
Did you just use obs to record this from a player? I always wondered how people made showcase videos
i like how this is turning out
It's turning out amazing. One can absolutely see the time and care you're putting into it
i like making pieces that take eternity but its both entertaining and exhausting
but at least i managed to draw characters relatively fast
I usually rush my process and I'm working on being more meticulous and patient, so I admire people who enjoy this kind of workflow
its more like a curse and both willingness to work on little details and fear that if i'll draw fast i'll make mistakes which i'll be too lazy to correct
my pipe dream is to draw at least one shot manga but the dream will keep being dream with such a workflow lmao
@cloud sky
twice in the same day
yeah
im sorry if this inconviences yall but for the meanwhile we are turning back on the requirement for embed perms in this chat
he cant
embed perms stops him
he will still try though with links
if someones trying to post links in here later imemdiatley DM me
dont click them
I find it funny Vedal’s age seems to vary from like 20-30 or something across everyone’s arts
Makes the uhh, British femboy allegations funnier to me when his depicted manliness varies to either match or contrast his signature programmer socks
same guy still? what a miserable individual
why do I feel like this could fit in a Fujimoto works
i liked manuh's style and i recently watched jjk thats why
which was inspired by jjk too (my assumption)
I’m still trying to familiarize myself with Neuro verse stuff so idk what that is
i always wondered how the guy could get through embed perms
looks liek there wasnt any here

this channel doesnt need embed perms~ used to atleast
Oh wait, jujisukaisen thing?
and this is obviously bc he like 90% in this age gap
yes
Manuh's?

oh no, sorry you have to deal with all that
lets not try to give the troll the time of day

yeah
👍
he clearly lacks attention in his house

if it happens again i just ping heir?
ping the whole fuckin mod team
👍

how am i in this channel and still dont see any suspicious messages💀
mods are cooking fr

but i stil need to learn how to draw mans hair..
Ur lucky, hope it stays that way
yah

something you wouldnt wanna see tbh
anyways to move one, what stuff do you guys use for art? like gear and sepcs
just for conversation, I use Xp pen deco LW
twitter surprised me with my art post missing from profile but turns out it was just some kind of temporal glitch and it came back... direct link still worked
My xppen software is so old~ its made for windows7 & I'm using win10
has it been flaky for u?
sometimes the pen pressure gets out of wack so i have to plug and unplug
cant adjust the button and sensitivity
The sticker on the box said “very good for osu”
loooool
I use wacom medium pro tablet
Kurutoga Starter Mechanical Pencil
it did cost like hundreds but worth it
to osu to digital artist pipeline is indeed real
nope~ but the sensitivity only works properly on some design software
not everything cause, software old and incompatible
i used to use a veikk s640
input rarely gets stuck though but disconnecting tablet from USB and plugging it back in typically fixes it
mm
with my wacom tablet anyway
the larger space helps frfr
not sure if i should transition to the one with a screen in the future tho
Mine is the Star-04
or if i should just keep with a tablet, rn im really enjoying my hand not blocking the thing
I personally prefer my setup with monitor as screen instead tablet having a screen
it's about preferences, etc
at least in that pathway i can get a better monitor
my monitor is a fancy one aimed to professionals... like artists who want color accuracy
and excellent for gaming too
things like refresh rate is not to be underestimated... it feels much nicer to draw when it's like 144 fps
yeah it so smooth
yeah... it helps with fine control... like while drawing lineart
its a weird pipeline tho since most people view art on their phone
so if making for other people then it should be tailored to them
well you can take various aspect ratios into account while drawing... like putting characters near center even if it's widescreen drawing
that's actually one thing I tend to consider... putting at least one character to center as when art gets cut when not in full view it shows something interesting lol
its not just that, some monitors have hdr on them that changes the colors a lot
on the phone its gonna look weird if you dont account for it
also some phones have oled on them so playing around with true black is interesting
since sites don't allow two variations of art based to if someone views your art in HDR mode or not you're simply screwed in that regard
so it still just makes more sense to draw in non-HDR
i've been using my wacom intuos pro large for 10 years
still going strong 🥲
I use my phone
Oooo
Test of time unless there something going on
Props to you my friend
I've only had to replace the pen
Most the tech is on the pen ?
Scratch that idk
Sadly my thumb is too large for my phone (and I'm too lazy to draw on phone)
Stylus?
Stylus what?
for phone
idk I'm thinking about myself and my brain says "eh"
I'll stick to drawing tablet and krita
idk how good stylus are for phone drawing I know someone who did full on illustrations for like 7 years with their phone and finger
Or pencil and paper (sometimes)
Borzoi draws on phone
I got a flip phone so my screen is kinda more sensitive to draw on
Errr more prone to damage
that is beyond sickening that is diabolical
I like the responsiveness my computer gives me compared to my tablet
Mainly use tablet for school or doodles
what kinda tablet?
i hear ipad is prolly best if not a screen tablet like a cintiq
i would definitely recommend a large screen though because of eye strain
I kinda want to have screen tablet for my pc, my hand eye coordination is mid
you'll need one of these to draw on your phone
Samsung S7 lite
You can always train it
By playing OSU lmao
you don't even need to play osu really you'll get used to it
how good is the pen pressure on those things
Really good, Samsung uses same tech as Wacom iirc
Yes I'm a mouse user, it's actually good training
those pants are stealing the focus in the drawing currently lol
I spent my time making evil fan art instead of studying exam that is going to happen in an hour
I'm cooked

Stylus feels weird to use on a phone
Mood
For the Easter comp I was juggling school, the art, and going to a convention
Yeah I just checked, you can use a Wacom pen on Samsung tablets
I think specific ones? But they work together
honestly... there is a chance that art skills end up being more useful than passing an exam in flying colors but I get the sentiment... I know context matters though... still a lot of people know bunch of people who it didn't pan out to actually get a job on a field they were studying for
just trying to do whole silver lining, you know thing
What the fuck? That's impressive.
Phone drawers are a different breed
Every art they did upto this point is on phone iirc
What phone does borzoi use?
@storm flicker what phone do u use?
Nah I like his art, but I didn't know he draws on a fucking phone. Bro what?
That's some serious fucking gigachad shit.
I can tell your tablet area 👍
Oh i use realmi
Based same-ish phone
Its just a dirt cheap phone im using atm but since it works i dont change yet
What model is it again?
Uhhh gimme a sec
yeah bro is different breeed
Yea realme is such a cheap good phone
I have this phone for over 2 years now
Realme 8 5g
ibis paint?
Yes they draw on ibis
cool
woah random burst of inspiration
Ya different
I have made more art in the last 3 weeks than I have in the 6 months prior. The wave of momentum is crazy rn
And the neuro drawing started it all
Sometime it just something that you really like that driven your momentum up, keep it up!!
I told my self not to do lines for next work but i did anyway
Can anyone help me find good video to learn drawing basic shape figures?
As in poses and such?
Yeah, something like that.
I want to know about it first before start to anatomy.
pikat on youtube has good vids imo, i haven't studied poses in a long time so can't remember what i have watched
im sorry i didn't realize this was artist alley lmao, i thought that was a question posed in gen chat
my apologies
Boxes is helpfull
Bro, chill down. I just joking 😅
nah i feel bad kek it's rude to troll in a channel specifically for a purpose
but i appreciate your understanding
i would give you a resource if i wasn't helpless at drawing and only ever go in here to look at pretty pictures
video links ok here?
#1343828204993122304 message dont think there's a specific issue for this channel per the rules and video links are allowed in this disc
oh well actually it does say no promotion
idk if that could be construed as promotion
hmm
Artists may use their own art posts to promote their other work, but using art threads to promote others is not allowed. This means no directing people to Twitch/YouTube channels or promoting events for others, this is an art forum and is not meant to serve as a platform for advertisement. that's a bit yikes i probably wouldn't post a video in here after reading that xd
yeah i will not post vid links
Anyway, boxes are super helpfull if your planing on poses and such, helps with perspective and stuff, tons of good vids on youtube. Not sure if this is what your looking for tho
Afaik thats only for the art forum, posting tutorial links here is perfectly fine
Oh that's good to know thanks
gotcha that makes sense, i just didn't want to say "yepper" and then get someone in trouble
excal art tips perhaps
he mainly do shorts but his videos are fine
or any videos about how to draw boxes figure

this talk abouy boxes method reminded me of moai statues lol
for most artists it's hard to give art advice well... it's different from teaching... like I'm self taught so I don't have really a foundation how to get around conveying my skills to other people effectively if they were like "I'm learning from scratch"
random question, is the schedule allowed tag on the art channel applicable even for unrelated neuroverse art characters like cerber or something?
I would assume not
https://discord.com/channels/574720535888396288/1343828204993122304
I think it required to have neuro or evil
ah doy. Should’ve checked there first 🤦. Thank you though.
anyways finished 2nd of the tarot card series. this is probably some of the most art fun i’ve had in a while.

I mean already answered but just to have it again
looks great
ty!
oh that's goated, Ellie would love it
That would be awesome
I love it it's incredible
Thanks! And it only cost me my daily eyesight 😆
I'm sorry to bother everyone, but do I need to be invited to post pictures in # art? I just came in today and I'm not very clear about this matter
i think you need embed perms?
i'm not sure but if that's the case you'll need to chat a bit more
you can see how far away you are in the bot channel
oh hey my leaf's gone
embed perms are required to post images anywhere
it's just a precaution - keep chatting and the bots will give the role automatically
i see! Thank you all!!!
it occurred to me recently how great silhouettes are... like when I wanted to figure out how to draw a shark for gawr gura drawing I looked up bunch of silhouettes to get and outline reference how the overall shape could look like
I have started, gonna try and paint it which I am not good at.
can't learn if you don't try!
my newest art is on track to perform better than my old one on socials
i dont like it that much
I try to push myself with each piece... some would call it tryhard but I don't really think it would be accurate... just trying to experiment ^^
It is what it is
I have viewed bunch of accounts where artists have not had really drive to try and improve despite having been drawing regularly for quite a while and honestly I feel that's valid... some just like to doodle, etc... but it does make one wonder when someone has been drawing ms paint art for ten years and then you can't really tell
I don't feel like it's my position to judge how one likes to be an artist, those kind of people are just annoying online, not knowing why someone is in to it before they comment
I just Woke up and I see this masterpiece
I would like to save them in a folder after you've finished all of it, keep cooking 🤝
Btw have you made the backside of the tarot cards? Asking for a friend
Morning artist alley
You can totally learn them together, applying art to anatomy is using basic shapes anyways
I've used tppo during my start
tppo is such a good artist
f evil 07
How long does it take for you guys to complete a piece on average?
Sometimes I feel like I'm taking too long to complete one
On average, it may take me three to twelve hours
But correspondingly, I feel that the completion of the pictures I draw is very low
why can i not send my art? Im on mobile the plus thing wont work
I don't think you have embed perms
#bot-channel type /rank
a day or a week
sorry for the inconvenience! we increased the requirement for a short bit because someone was abusing it to send really bad stuff on alts
Oof, that explains it.
No wonder i was unable to post art. I thought it was "me" issue.
BTW, what are the new requirements that I can fill to be able to post art again?
Embed Perms (see progress in #bot-channel with t!rank) or being a subscriber on Twitch with your account linked to Discord
Oh, ok, thanks.
day 5 of trying to make a vtuber in one day without any experience (4 days overdue)
finished remodel and animated eyes
Nice
Theyve recently added embed perms requirement, due to the recent influx of bad actors
Also
jk
Get embed perms first by yapping/chatting with other people on #general-network or #neurotic-neurons or any other chat channels

🍨
Basically, why did i make this?

My art.
Nemu
No way ??
I wanna do school work but I also want to draw
oh yeah baby, looking sharp
I just drew something awesome... took a while
I think you shouldn't worry about it, speed comes with experience and the more your art skills improve the faster you will be able to draw
You can start yapping about your art here, the process and stuff. Those are always interesting to read
with how my brain works as of late, once i get over a certain time, i just lose interest in a drawing
i finished the design i wanted to create.
Cool!
i like strawberries
I think at that point you can either finish it with low effort or just move on, I believe thats fine.
I have no idea how many active hours I drew for this art piece so let's call it seven or so... https://x.com/Clord124/status/1915515088909590907
I had quite a while the swarm fm on background
ugh... I didn't draw eyebrows so had to fix it
Flowers
i like this evil
I like how her eyes is the only one with color to show how evil she is
i like how proud of herself she looks while trying to be cool and in character

Don't really draw, but photography and photo editing is my artistic expression. Any picture takers out there?
Good image
Any tips on what makes a good photo?
i used to, here is a pic of my sister
Are you social bee?

Because you have the balls to send a irl pic without censoring face
eh its probably fine... probably
The Subject. What's a good photo would be subjective to the individual. Objectively good exposure, framing, and focus would make any photo good.
Lol
that reminds me, I need to learn framing and shot composition
Framing and composition definitely key. The term "rule of thirds" is 227 years old, the golden triangle is older than that. So there's something humanly inherent with that idea of composition.
Thought I’d post this here. It’s a Castigator from Trench Crusade

A small art piece I made in VR for today
Happy Birthday
happy birday!!
Happy birddday!!!
Happy 🎂!
reminds me of overwatch... the robot character had like the most emotionally filled trailer
did someone unpin hyori ref? :madge
Is everyone a sleep or sm
nah... I just made some photoshop editing
Cool
I made two variations of my gemini drawing
it took a bit effort as I had to do some mirroring and layer editing but now I have versions of my drawing that show evil neuro and neuro-sama as full drawings
Keep up the good work
thanks ^^
yeah i saw this one too. kap goes crazy with the art.
this one inspire me to redo an old art
im working on it rn
ooh looking forward to it
I actually asked from a system how to use symmetry mode in photoshop and turned out it was just rather simple to find lol... I actually didn't expect it to be so convenient just simply to turn on for brushes and expected some inconvenient implementation
i love symmetry
makes certain drawing elements so convenient
hmm... yeah I have noticed how it's handy for something like drawing vtuber models too... I just haven't had really use for it before as even with frontal drawings I like to give characters angles and not perfect symmetry... like chest is facing some direction... head is angled to side and not perfectly towards camera, etc
yeah asymmetrical faces do match realism better, but when it comes to quick character design drafts, it comes quite in handy. I’ve actually used it myself recently to make gear designs ⚙️
since they’re about as symmetrical as you can get but super tedious to draw
yeah sounds super handy for concept art of a character design for example
if you just want to draw a reference that roughly someone could follow
for a rough style this looks good
ooh i love how u did the hair. very dynamic.
Thank you
Its just a quick sketch
ah well... some artists like to use such a style as actual finished drawings... they make it work with some cleaning up and coloring
I like sketchy art styles
Oh yeah
oh yeah and doujinshi authors love to sell their works in stages... well some of them do... like they sell really rough version first that is like sketch, then progressively more worked toward version of finished work and people keep buying them
Wip, i kinda wana do more high effort bg but no idea what
cia cat
very great perspective

Thanks, been challenging my self for more perspective stuff as of late
This is great! I think you did it
OMG this is so beautiful
Wowowow
Chills
if its dark theme then probably city night or sum
if its light theme then just add colorful background
Dark theme not a bad idea actually, might start with that in mind
I find it easier to depict night... like to make it look good... then again I find that with a lot of video games etc night time tends to look better than daytime... like with like a dragon franchise
Yeah it feels nicer
part of it's that when you use darker colors especially to background, you can use bright yellows and stuff to make stylized lighting that looks easily good
meanwhile daytime looking place it's more about using dark colors to make stylized shadows
hope thats okay in here.. i made a little neuro-sama song, purely made out of her clips:)
Let me know what you all think!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut_T53uvx90
nice work with editing
More Strawberry designs
spent whole afternoon painting some cloud which i ended up not liking and deleted it, could only come this far today
neuro went sephiroth
I see.
sephineuroth
redoing this old one
That was a wasted opportunity 😔
very beautiful
mm i kinda hate this composition now, wasted whole afternoon for nothing now
will comeback to this idea sometime in the future
How do you color it since it's in gray? Gradient map?
Thanks
Thanks
Thansk
Thanks
happy birthday!
i paint over it
Oo
How do you keep your values? Just try to?
idk
i just pick the color i think makes sense and put it there
i can always edit it with tone curve later
relatable... I just mess around with layers until I get something that looks good
learning while doing
on these kinda illustration tho i do wanna it to have dramatic lighting look
so the bright parts r just white while i focus on shadow part
Ahh
Cool
Much more different than the line art+ cel shading style
I've been wanting something more complicated
i dont really know how to explain stuff, i look at art of the same style a lot and try to mimic them with my lttle knowledge of color theory
I should try this kind of rough coloring style... I have been going to very gradient style or whatever one could call it
Do you have anyone specific?
dino_illust, 96yottea, shie, kan liu
and some more
sadecc too idk how to write his name but he drawn most of the neuro's stream stuff
a lot of artist apply these kinda painting to their fine line art too, very effort demanding but really beautiful too, i dont really care about lineart and i rely on texture brush more instead so my paiting looks more like a real oil painting
different styles, same same tecnique
yeah each artist has their own preferences of how they like to draw... for me lineart is appealing but that's partly due I have practiced so much going to that direction as a style... also when I was starting to really practice I liked one artist's drawings so much that I ended up gravitating towards their style for a while
my line art skill is good enough for me to the point where im erasing lines becuase i want the character to blend in the backgroun and stand out in another way
i can always be better at line art i know but id like something different
i like lineart too i been doing my whole life and i draw manga too so i need it, but sometimes ago when i first saw dino's art it sucks me in, now im constantly painting
yeah dino's art is something
im trying to study him as a goal for the year
any advice lol
tbh dino's and similar style is just good color picking and texture
thats what i came up with after 2 years of painting
before that i was relying on blend mode for shading
like multiply for shadow, over lay for highlight and such
now i pick the dark color for shadow, light color for highlight, hardly touch the blendmode options anymore
interesting... I tend to more stick to my style and nurture it
man chatting about art techniques is quite fun, i needa socialize more
ah lol im the opposite, i strictly started with just color picking for everything and use some blend modes
ig i should go back lol
my pfp is my most recent and best attempt at dino's style
i first started digital art in 2018-19 on my phone, i followed ibis paint x's tutorial so thats why i was relying on blendmode
i just paint without a hope
i paint without knowing what im doing lmao
blendmode was just stuff ignored cuz i would have rather just picked and layer the color myself
i used here and there but only for finishing touches
i saw Dino's stream once
i paint then i pull my hair out, grit my teeth, fusing my gums until my eyes bleed and a light bulb flash in my head then continue painting
also i made dino's study
nice
good one
for me digital art got around color mixing like... I have gotten idea what certain colors to intuitively but not having to mix physical paint is still much easier when you want really specific colors
man all you guys are so experienced
nah
i'm bad in drawing
you sir have a skill i want
i have no skill, i just paint without hope
i call bullshit
no offense but its straight up lying
my closest attemp at mimicking dino was an ubel fan art
comparing with other artists from twitter or here
now im on my own path i think
yeah ideally thats what id like too
I have been focusing so much drawing art I can post here... so much neuroverse art
which I mean I haven't drawn other kind of art for a while that much
i been slacking off, art block
i got another art thing i wanna do but im currently on a recovery phase for some reason
not in the mood
liek a mini art block after each big project
any attempts are guaranteed to be shit
im kinda overwhelmed by the amount of things i needa do then i exploded
damn u got some good stuff
For real on periods of art block. Wish mine didn't last for years. Getting back into that familiar groove feels like starting from scratch again.
oh ye dino did make me change my process a bit
I tend to play video games when I feel like taking it easy on art side of things
better than burn out
speaking of which I don't think burn out is really accurate... it's fine to take a break once a while
Red+
he stream??
shie with the 007?
man how did I not find those artists before
(aside from Dino & 666K.)
Dino is a king amongst kings
So goated
Yup I'm a visual learner, I can understand this more than anything

I just had a thought... aren't most artists visual learners lol... it would make sense considering how art is often taught too
I like to do very gradient shading so I already get what the image is trying to convey without really thinking much about it
Why I can't post anything on the art channel? (Or however is called, I'm not sure)
Here?
Embed perms, it was bought back because of bots. You need to chat first to post pictures
Does anyone have that one ship art of turtle sitting in a couch with the girls behind him?
Even if someone has, they will not send it, otherwise they will be shot by mods lol
Oh, I just wanted to ask since simple searches are almost impossible
i think im going with toma for the next tarot idea
although im not 100% certain on the pose yet
Strength fits kind of well actually, and I honestly think that pose is fine
Hanged man tuttel I'm only saying...
excellent, i saw another fillian ship art
artists truly are the lifeblood of vtubing
Cute
borzoi timelapses would go crazy
I can’t post in art channel because I need Embed perms
Kinda annoying but I understand because of bots
Same lol. Was gonna post something just now.
I need to keep talking in chat or other channels to get it up and it’s a pain
My lurker ass
Just start yapping
🗿 👍
We need to talk more to be able to post in #1095941852068331560 ?
guess its time to unlurk then
But is it okay to post Neuro art here?
And after, can I put it in the art section too, or
would I be breaking rules?
" Okay, well private Chat then
yeah you can post art once youre able to
Thank you!
Can I tell y'all how much I love Johnny's Garage Animations?
Their expressions and movements and use of DBZ elements are great!
And their character design is really good!
You're not familiar with animation in general or just the person's work I talked about?
both
fair
Question for everyone who wants to yap.
How do we feel about line art?
Lineart is trashhhh but its such a fundamental you cant avoid
Its unfun to make honestly, theres more creative freedom with coloring and sculpting in general
id say you only need to cultivate lineart and drawing to point then you can sculpt
its one of the more fast things to develop
Lineart can be incredibly rewarding, because it allows you to quickly doodle any idea imagineable and play around with designs.
You can technically do the same with shapes and colors as well ofc, but it takes way more time and is a lot less clear
It is a major pain at the start for sure though, because it makes our poor attempts at anatomy, proportions and perspective very visible 😐
anatomy is just given through time and practice
applying it into line art is whats up
I suck at the coloring part
well yeah, that applies to anything really.
true but as compared to other things, you have to be more mindful
thats in my experience
lineart design at least in a way I tend to do it is easier to change... while some methods you are much more committing or changing is pain to butt
XD
there is sth therapeutic about doing lineart tho

I have a shadow and highlight and thats it
Yes. Its a head empty task for me its relaxing
Lineart is a little something, innit?
But it needs to be done
I guess it also depends on the process?
I usually go from stressing over pose, composition, clothes, background and stuff to lineart where I don't have to think at all. just lines
Update: tried some stuff, head hurt, went with this. Just a little tinkering with lines left and then onto colors
Lineart and coloring is fine, the truly brainless activity is filling in flats
If we're talking brainless it's just looking at the screen cuz my brains not working
It do be like that always
love it
Im guessing its more like
Just made this. Drew it with a mouse. :^)
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHINGG
Its the lineart that has to be really technical, some do messy lineart but almost everyone do lineart cleaning after, but ig its probably because my art is rooted from painting
Altho some ppl master values and completely erase their linearts to paint
I guess i find the technicality of lineart exhausting
I guess the fun part about lineart is doing line weights
it would be peak af if neuro is sitting behind the light shines through the window, with the room falls in shadow and stuff
Working on a throne rn 4
I was actually listening to the song when I was drawing earlier. It fits.
It was very hype
Light is from window, can't put neuro there though
unfinished art of gwen, the liberated empyrean of arms 😭
Alright, I think this one might be cooler.
It's called DI3SOLUTION-V1RUS.
hmm line weight... I find that I do it intuitively... I have observed so much art that does it so I just picked it up without much thinking about it
👀
nice skating theme
Yoooo, Neuro on the Tony Hawk arc? 👀🔥
it prob does, looks great!
OMG that's good
I tried using the mirror tool myself but I never quite liked how my stuff looked
maybe I just prefer a little bit of assymetry in my works
banger
Yes.
Does anyone by any chance have any scuffed/yippe creature/stealing your anny type of creature images for neuroverse characters? I'm currently making something cool and those images would be helpful
I... don't know what that means
yeah
Thank you Vedal and thank you, Heir
was just curious whether someone already made such images, in this case i will just make my own scuffed versions
I think scuff adds charm
i mean, it's supposed to be quite scuffed to begin with
It needs to count, gunpla’s awesome
switched from krita to photoshop and the hate
photoshop makes bigger files and bloated up my system when i used it
me on my way to put too many references and layers
i went from this to a single reference on screen at any time
why does photoshop remove the references when you close it tho
thats so annoying
that and the fact that ctrl + mouse click moves the entire layer
so theres a chance that when you click ctrl + Z and then try to draw a line you just move everything
yee justr depends on ur work flow
backgrounds are harder than characters
inking a manga is kinda a mindnumbing task at times
especially listening to infomercial bgm while doing it
bro im sketching and gods on swarm fm hits
i felt it
she does look like when in anime character is in beam of power or whatever you could call it... like in dragonball when they are in their power mode and shoot yellow beam of light to the air lol
and somehow it has uplift for hair and clothing like gust of wind
anyway... I have been drawing vedal fanart and I'm too tired to get it done now so after sleep I try to finish it
nailed it
Don’t you just finger smudge with a finger?? Why would you need a brush to finger smudge if you have a finger?
Digital art?
Fuck.
Wah?
Is the bg ok?
Yee
I think ill just fix the grass a bit
It's giving omori
I've been wanting to be a vtuber for a little bit now and this is day 2 of drawing vtuber model (I never posted day 1 here :/)
I've never drawn on photoshop before, I have never drawn with a mouse, and I have spent >5 hours drawing. My hand HURTS
I have drawn 16 layers, I have become very efficient at bucket, I have had to use my non dominant hand for a little bit because my right hand hurt (it's hurting again rn), still need to line art/colour 3 more layers, I need to shade like 6 or 7 layers, and then I'll be done with JUST THE HAIR.
I literally thought that was paper at first
hello i have 6 vgen invite codes, anyone want one?
What's that
uh if u want to start taking art commissions vgen is prolly the best site to to do it but u need an invite code to unlck artist role
hmmmm…mayhaps………perchance good sir, may I asketh for one?
ok
This is the congratulatory picture I drew for Eve's birthday countdown, and now it's finally unlocked.
I think this is currently the best linear picture I have ever drawn
I've been practicing lately to make the art more detailed
This is the reference I found before, hoping it will be helpful to everyone
maybe if i can? idk never really thought about doing this for money, at least this early
ill make art for these people lmaooooo
Do you still have vgen codes 🥺
Yes pls!
Me, can I have one?
1 sec
Ok I wait
i sent dm if u didnt notice
thats might be it

Kan heart
this is so pretty omg, legit looks like top tier manga with all the linework

almost forgot why I came to this channel, anyways submitted neuro art to student art gallery
Kyut
here's the other two I submitted
I love ur style
something I drew yesterday
Looks good. However it's funny how thick the plain frame is.

that matte frame thing was required for digital prints fr
it does look funny tho
Art classes seem to make 1 inch the minimum thickness for frames.
Soul of Cinder icon
Hatching
I ended up tuning my avatar because as I have improved as an artist it started to bother me how small the eyes were compared to my current style... https://x.com/Clord124/status/1916454455551131982
yeah... it's kind of ratio thing like frame seemingly takes over the painting as a focus if too many percentage if the square is the frame... while frame is typically intended to be there for practical reasons, not something to be noticed
Based.
That's fucking gorgeous.
Anime in art school, risky but based.
that's actually insane
no joke
bro mastered bony surface landmarks
bro we gotta get you a drawing tablet
Haha thank you but u give me alot of credit i just uhh use refs for this i think im still far from mastering them

You progress really quickly. Inspirational work
a valid way to learn regardless if it makes one feel like a copy machine at times XD
anyone else feel like there is a point you feel like you're learning to draw better way quicker than used to... like since you have so many bricks laid out it gets easier to just learn more
Things that hindering me fr is the feeling that I'm just copying and I'm not really learning anything but I'm slowly but surely removing that mindset
Day 3 of making my vtuber model. I finished hair base colours and now I am rendering
My development has always been inconsistent. Sometimes I get noticeably better despite not practicing any specific skill. Other times I feel stagnant even with practice
we should do a fundamentals day
like, crack open a loomis and just do gestures for a day
learning by simply doing complete drawings works so that's normal... you practice overall skills and might focus to certain aspect more subconsciously even... also passive learning is a thing so even if you don't draw a while you still keep learning... internalizing what you have been practicing... also artists tend to learn by observation even while not actively doing art... like you stare something to the point someone might find it odd what you're doing lol... just examining some random object
I have had a few times at least where it felt like I had level up... liike things came together that I just suddenly had eureka moment
Decided to work on something that isn't a mech but still kinda does
Apostolic Gun Knights are so cool
Anatomy my fav~
thatss so nice

it's community college so it's probablyyyy fine
So like what's the rule for more suggestive arts? Just along more lines of borzoi's and not further?
well we did get an artist bonked for that
there's a more robust definition of the rules somewhere
check #rules
but yeah to be safe just don't do anything too lewd or suggestive
OC art
your lineart slaps as always nowa
Thank you!
Oh wait why can't I post pics lol
I'll just link it instead
Sketch
Oh bruh no embed
