Either way, modern dresses are soft and they fold easily, so if she's sitting like that, it would fold and adapt around the shape of her legs, clearly only vaguely since its not a latex but you probably get what I mean
However, the way you drew it gives the impression that it is a very voluminos dress, the kind that was very common among ladies in the 1700s. Those had iron supports under the dress' fittings to maintain the volume steady and grand. Those dresses do not change shape, even when sitting

this is actually a good time to experiment. thing is with brushes, its purpose served is mostly to add a specific type of texture to the overall aesthetic of a piece. In reality, a round brush can pretty much do everything, but may take longer when it comes to texturing. Thus, bristled brushes, sketch brushes, etc, exist to streamline the brush process.
You have to ask yourself what youāre going for. Is it clean lineart? Than going for g-pen brushes never hurts, especially since it typically has good pressure sensitivity. Did you want to go for more of comfy, stylistic look? Than bumpier line brushes could give that kind of sketchy, organic look. Just try sketching out a full character with various brushes, and see what works for your imagined aesthetic.

the app i use might be different from yours so even the brushes i use might be under a different name. i rotate between studio pen, technical pen, g-pen, and some textured sketch brushes. I switch often depending on the type of look i want to go for. Though I still think brushes are mostly a subjective matter that you have to research to find for yourself, I do recommend using brushes with a good range of pressure sensitivity, as being able to change your line weight just based on pressure alone gives you a lot of flexibility with your line choices, makes your pieces more organic, and ultimately helps you maintain a steady hand in the long run.

also just to add on, when you said you ātriedā a few brushes, how much of a drawing have you done with each of those brushes? If you havenāt completed an entire piece/character with a brush, you might want to give that a shot. Sometimes one might not realize just how nice a brush looks until theyāve drawn an entire piece with it. I know personally, Iāve started using brushes I used to think were bad, but realized looked nice in a fully finished artwork.

Glad you liked it, but as Nightshot pointed out, that doesn't mean you should drop art now. My art only has the same meme itself, but the style, colors, Asuka pose and perspective are different from Evangelion's. So yours will obviously be closer to the original. While mine just looks like a reference, yours might look like a real anime frame
