So to put it into more technical details;

When we use style=source option, it overlays the RAW IMAGE directly; Meaning if you're smart, you can stylise the raw image so that it looks like the embed below (attached a symbols image for example)
All templates froim council are usually stylised like this

If you zoom in closely, you'll notice the raw image is already made to look like symbols at a pixel-by-pixel level. Thus skipping alot of Pxls engine rendering

The different between mouse and mousedot templates is the style we used on the RAW IMAGE, aka, what you'll see directly. The reason dotted is alot less laggy is because the resolution of the RAW IMAGE for dotted is alot smaller than symbols. (about 1/5th the size).

If you were instead to use the Pxls engine rendering, (ie, by going to Settings -> Template -> Style dropdown = "NUMBERS") doing this actually forces the Pxls website to detemplatize the image, scale it up by 11x11 pixels per original pixel (so 121x more pixels, aka a 100k pixel template = 12.1m pixels to render), then re-renders that whole image to the style you want, then re-shrink it back down to overlay what you see.
The result? = MASSIVE LAG.

In summary: Just use source style.
