one must learn and interact with the world to be able to solve things on their own. that's essentially the path of Reinforcement Learning. problem is, RL is super hard. giving them training data allows us to skip a lot of the very fundamental hard part akin to what evolution does for human brains if you want to go wishy-washy with it (I can speak technical too but I don't think it is appropriate for this kind of convo). the only thing is that now we need good archs that allow us to actually use this jumpstart and make it learn things properly. what we have now is like a very smart human being approximation with no actual learning but that part is graftable through new architecture changes and there are several projects trying to actively do that.
