(if you're wondering, there are actually origins to each name! randy is a shortened name for random dot range, tony was named literally because of the tony lore, jippity sounds similar to GPT, and gary was called gaming gary™)

(or guidance gary depending on if the repo name or mentioned name in readme pr is more canonical)

not using a specific stt model currently, we're basically allowing any model as long as it's an stt model

what about vads? will it support a vad

idk what a vad is tbh, im not working on this project alone so

Voice activity detection

jagged turtle

oh

opaque wharf
#

Not to be confused with vlad the impaler

jagged turtle
#

the lib we use has voice activity detection yea

wary mauve
#

voice activity detector, detects speech as apposed to just noises, good to put infront of STTs so they dont hallucinate words from sounds

#

i think

#

i could be wrong but the one i use does this for me

jagged turtle
wary mauve
#

so my whisper model doesnt keep saying "thank you" because some mf coughed in discord

I only know all of that because I need voice assistant for my home assistant lol. And openWakewords provide a very good explanation in their repo

wanting to add "game integration" type stuff for my current AI so tryna see how neuro-sama interacts with the SDKs so this helps, and how it decides to take actions but i assume its all dynamic when you start an integration so it loads the extra tools it can use

And in true open source spirit, some of the wake word is quite colourful

#

No one has made "hey clanker" yet tho

wary mauve
#

I like the idea of a wake word but makes me think about them in a google home light instead of someone whos attached / in the group

#

So atm I just take all speech, and when theres silence for x seconds I prompt the transcript with a system prompt that tells him he's apart of a group convo and not everything is targeted towards him, and such, also a patience meter incase its too noisy and they can't get a word in, so they can

opaque wharf
gloomy charm
#

I think it was down to when they industrialised and then due to post war rebuilding

opaque wharf
#

Ohhh, yeah forgot about that incident

gloomy charm
#

Here is what I found. This difference arose as the first generators, functioning at 50 Hz, were imported to Japan from Germany and were installed in the east of the country. After the Second World War, 60 Hz generators were brought from the USA and installed in the western grid.

opaque wharf
#

That's fucked up

It's like they drive I on the left as the British built the train network.
Could be worse tho Switzerland uses slightly diffrent plug to those around them

I do like having fuses in the plug tho. That would be a great addition to schuko.

gloomy charm

The ground being the first pin and the reason the socket opens is also super nice feature. Oh and the on off switch on the plug

#

But maybe I am just saying this as slightly traumatised by the wiring I have in france 😅

opaque wharf
gloomy charm
#

That it does but with the UK plug the ground opens little flaps for the live and earth. So you shouldn't be able to stick something in there without first grounding. If that makes sense

Why the prong is slightly longer

Ya

#

But I’ve been all over Japan and never needed to consider the plug

It's not a plug issue it is an appliance issue. Some will just not work as expected

Its a small (8b) model that does thinking level/response checks. Simple "does the model need to respond" or how hard does it need to think"

#

And other stuff that is async at runtime

frozen hollow
#

I have wondered about those things

wary mauve
#

So you take in transcript from whats being said ( either from multiple or just one ) and then send that off to your model to see if there needs to be speech or?

#

I did want to create some sort of "thinking" engine that just runs and creates the thoughts of the agent, and "speech" is just aother model that takes those thoughts and replies to whats been said with said thoughts in context

Whats your flow like if i can ask?

as im still unsure about my flow but my flow rn is event based

USER_SPEAKING -> usually used for interruptios / silence checks, if no user_speaking then nobody is speaking so its silence, but can also be used for interruptig certain async tasks, i.e. cutting the ai off

USER_INPUT -> Fired when we fully transcribe something, most modules that listen to this just store the message but for the brain it uses that as chat history and knows that its ready to respod

Thinking gate sets routing

The whole system is hard to explain but essentially, deep thought is slow. At a minimum the thinking model returns a response 20% slower than the main model. With my set up there is light, standard and deep thinking. Light is just the main model, standard goes input > gate > main > think > main > output and deep is input > gate > main > think > main > think > main > output

So is this just deep thinking, and if so is it used to finalise the response or is it used in conjuction to provide context for the next turn? I should probably ask what ur making first, as Im thinking in the context of a "Neuro sama" like responding ai agent, where i want output to be quite fast so it feels seamless

Input (STT) -> Transcribe -> Main -> TTS -> Discord Voice

Where I essentially want some sort of "thought" box where the ai can take what was said, what it said, and create thoughts about itself, what it saw / tool results, the current situation etc

quick condor

Neuro can't really think, best that can be done is heavy prompt engineering. It's why their buckshot roulette gameplay is nails on a chalkboard to me

wary mauve
quick condor

Thinking is too slow

but its merely contextual

i use a filament dryer. you can get them kinda cheap.

But make sure the MCU is connecting directly via USB, not through a UART

it seems like mini pcs are more expensive actually

probably fine ye

if you have the RPM coz know how often it rotates one complete turn then you can just use that to give you pretty good accuracy, coz you can assume it's rotating at a constant rate.

so hall effect would be fine

That only has 12-bit res tho. So you can only move 360°/(2^12)

Add some filter to the two LSB and it is even bigger (the minimum detectable angle)

even terrible one. coz you do the actual position by looking at the percentage of time you are through the rotation, not by reading a (potentially noisy) position reading.

that's the fromString method....

#

which does work

#

but

olive sable
hard raptor
#

if after importing with that.. if i then do .readonly(false) which should make it mutable... it still isn't..

olive sable
#

15rps, with 2880hz, thats 192hz per rotation

hard raptor
#

but if i import it as an ivec then make it immutable.. and then only when needed make it mutable just to change 1 thing and make it immutable then it does work

hard raptor
#

and then not working after telling the thing to not export the top level as ivec

#

the first version literally never had this problem

hard raptor
#

exporting it as a normal vec also not works

#

it literally only works when i tell the thing to adopt the properties of the vector instance it is imported into...

#

IT'S LITERALLY 2 FRICKING BOOLEANS

#

again.. these are the vector types

export enum VecTypes {
    /**
     * Standard Vector
     */
    VEC = '__vec',

    /**
     * Vector with unsafe operations
     */
    UVEC = '__uvec',

    /**
     * Readonly Vector
     */
    SVEC = '__svec',

    /**
     * Readonly Vector with unsafe operations
     */
    SUVEC = '__suvec',

    /**
     * Inherit Parent Vector
     */
    IVEC = '__ivec',
}
#

the thing is.. even if i did set the Vec instance to readonly.. or to not allow unsafe operations or both... the fromString method bypasses that

#

and to make it even sillier

#

the inner vectors their properties ARE properly adopted

#

it literally only affects the top level

#

btw this line:

__uvec["Test DB","kvs_test2_"] __uvec["Test DB","kvs_test_"]

is the output of this

console.log(DB_META_VALUES.toString(), DB_META.get('y'));

aka
it first outputs the mutated VecString in the sub vector... and then it fetches that same string from the parent

real sierra

you can check at any point, so it shouldn't force you to check at a particular point in the processing

cause Collision2D has pretty much no functions attached to it according to the docs enub

yeah thats just a container object that describes the collision i think

The collisions details are returned by MonoBehaviour.OnCollisionEnter2D, MonoBehaviour.OnCollisionStay2D and MonoBehaviour.OnCollisionExit2D callbacks. It details which Collider2D and Rigidbody2D pairs are involved in the collision as well as contact points where the Collider2D meet. Note: During the OnCollisionExit2D event, there are no contacts to be retrieved.
