#First Deck in 20 years

Oops, still had it set to private. Should work now (new to this as well haha)
Hey so looking at the deck, it seems like grave pact is a really disproportionately powerful card. If your pod is okay with it then great but it could really lock up, more then what a B2 deck would imply.
Also, the deck is top loaded with some pretty expensive/powerful cards and lacks some of the ramp to get there.
I prefer decks that can consistently “do the thing” over a big explosive play 1 in every 6 3 hour games.
I might recommend sculpting the top end of the deck for cards like [[Crypotlith Rite]] or [[Song of Freylise]] . Maybe some more proliferation, if you want to commit to the spore counters or [[Harvest season]] if you want a more explosive gameplan.
Enchantment — Saga
(As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)
I, II — Until your next turn, creatures you control gain "
: Add one mana of any color."
III — Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Those creatures gain vigilance, trample, and indestructible until end of turn.
Saporilings are hard to build around because they don’t really have the individual support to win games (that I have seen). They are usually slow or become generic token decks. So maybe more control options would be better too.
yea, i mean based on what Ive seen of commander I dont see how a deck like this would really be all that good unless I'm playing other slow decks. Commander just seems like ramp fast win fast. Again, I'm coming from an old mindset from standard days so its very possible my hope of how I want to play just might not be viable. I wont know though until I start playing (with my precon, testing waters).
thanks for the recommendations. I dont have a pod because Ive never played Commander. I intend to with my precon and then I'll be able to test the waters for what others use, enjoy, etc. Theory crafting decks was just always my favorite part of magic so I started jumping into it with this deck, but ofc, never having played Commander, I can only get so far with that lol. Ramp is definitely one thing I could tell would be nice to have more of, but not sure what to remove. I love the synergy everything has on paper. I figure really without being able to play the deck and seeing what works, what doesn't, what I find Im keeping in my hand and never play, etc, I can really only do so much hypothetically. I just love the idea of this deck. I had a similar 60 card deck that, again while it wasn't all that great, I loved the synergies when it popped off.
I somehow got sucked into WBG and think I might be enjoying that theorycraft more. 99% the same cards so hypothetically I could buy cards for both and swap and play. hmmmm
i think there are some great video for commander introduction especially the 4 player dynamic/politic you dont see in 1vs1
but before all that (which doesnt take much time to learn and experience) just having a playable deck with janky weird cards you find fun and roll with it
playable is really all that matters as you decide what fits you and what not
if you have any 60 cards from years ago maybe something works again here
but dont bet on it
B2 casual is a great place to start imo, B3 is for the upgraded more mechanically function decks and the intent to win; those 2 bracket takes up majority of the player base you will encounter in the LGS
dont need to worry to much about power for starter, just be a socially acceptable person and you will be fine
