Gameplan is that I gift rats to my opponents and watch them fight as the rats grow and grow

[[relentless rats]]

ah nice, they see every rat on the board so it will literally be rat everywhere XD

Exactly!

#

@lean garden Got any recommendations for cards to cut?

lean garden
#

trying to see if there are alternative to phyrexian arena

#

[[castle locthwain]] is worse than [[war room]] almost every time

#

blue has some interesting ways of mass control swap but without haste they often cant attack

#

commander itself should be drawing quite a bit of cards to begin with so i would rate protection/counterspell to boardwipes to be more important than just pure card advantage draw spells

#

instead of [[hero downfall]] i feel like [[echoing truth]] is more fitting

#

more variety on what you can target is good too

#

[[!resculpt]] is fine but those tokens are owned by your opponent anyways so there isnt really synergy, just kinda a slightly more flexible [[rapid hydrization]]

i would actually prefer 2 for 1 removes or tribal wipes such as [[crippling fear]]

dusk sparrowBOT

#

while it would kill the commander, the goaded rats being around would cause much more damage than other small chump blockers

#

other than that, i think it would come down to balancing the blue and black pips in the deck since this is nearly a 90% mono black deck

#

i would avoid Diabolic Tutor over something that cost about 3 mana just because it overlaps with commander;'s curve

#

thumbling stone is nice but with this many rats, perhaps the most powerful artifact is the medallion as long as you can keep your card advantage going

#

2 mana rats with X+4 power are kind of crazy

#

and then a side note for a weird "jank" combo would be playing things such as [[The END]] that can

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

cut down your deck as much as you want and thin out the 99 by ANY NUMBER as you fail to find or have enough out already

#

[[surgical extraction]][[pirated copy]] [[mocking doppelganger]]

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

in the case where you find an ability that flicker every creature on the board, as they come back under the OWNER's control, you will keep all the rats

#

i dont think this will have a place here but a commonly missed line on [[mirror box]] is the anthem effects for same name cards

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

there is also [[bile blight]] in place of crippling fear but its a lot weaker

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

[[mitotic manipulation]] [[retraced image]] aka basic ramp

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

[[mask of the mimic]]

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

i think the hardest counter to same name is either [[leyline of singularity]] and [[eye of singulurity]] both no one really main deck but enchantments are hard to deal with in general

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

i know lot of people likes [[withering torment]] as the instant enchantment removal but i didnt even bother buying it

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

and you need to prepare lot of rat puns and jokes before the game starts

#

if you need tokens, try to go with Cheese

Wow, thank you so much for all of the advice!!!! I will definitely go through all of this and make some changes. Appreciate you!!

lean garden

Np, out of all the same name cards, i think relentless rat or lowkey maybe apostle is still the coolest ones out there. I want to tutor for [[Lost legacy]] myself to super thin out my deck and replace my rats in hand with new cards

dusk sparrowBOT
lean garden
#

counterintuitive wheel i know but i will have a 50 ish card deck instead of 99. I am playing 60 cards format in commander XD

fiery sigil
#

Clever!

lean garden
#

idk, secret commander has problems, and if it fails thats a lot of $ down the drain

#

and its only 60 deck by design since i cannot change the singleton part of the rule for the remaining part of the deck; there are still no consistency in the rest of the game plan

#

and it will also mess with the land : non-land ratio
