I really wanted to make a deck using feldon of the 3rd path with sneak attack. It feels very clunky sometimes (I know the mana curve is a little high) any suggestions for cheaper cards with a focus on creatures for reanimation and commander synergies would be nice

Chainer, Nightmare Adept - Commander deck

(1) Commander • (1) Burn • (1) Drain • (14) Draw • (35) Land • (2) Mill • (2) Protection • (10) Ramp • (12) Recursion • (15) Removal • (1) Theft • (6) Tutor

is the [[!kaervek the merciless]] necessary?

idle moss
#

perhaps the [[grave titan]]/inferno is doing more with haste

removal is pretty high as well

#

i think [[meteor golem]] is overboard to hard cast here

i had a very janky chainer deck that never worked back then. and one thing i realized is how insignificant the value from chainer gives me

#

besides a bad strategy with no supports

#

i think it is good to not have to play your commander/ ever have to recast it

#

so an [[!anger]] in grave solves like 80% of that problem

and in the case where i am willing to leave chainer in grave, a [[living dead]] would still give my entire board haste

i doubt oyu want to do [[rise of the dark realm]]

that 9 mana is too much

#

diresight has a new name from spiderman called [[risky study]]

quiet siloBOT
#

No card found for “risky study”

idle moss

[[risky research]]

there is a repeatable (manat )version of [[vile entomber]]

quiet siloBOT

#

not really a swap but worth a mention

#

overall i would run more below 4 mana -mana ramp (reusable) to get to a high curve

#

you basically want to hit every land drop in this deck

#

getting stuck at 3 lands would be awful

#

so a lot of it comes down to: figuring out which route you want to go. Full board reanimate with [[twilight's call]]

quiet siloBOT
idle moss
#

lot of single target cheat into play with [[apprentice necromancer]][[doomed necromancer]][[exhume]] and alike

quiet siloBOT

#

or more toward big ramp and explosive turn with high cost cards

#

in the first two case, i wouldnt be playing the rituals that make the deck lose card advantage from sacrifice

#

without token generation, the sac cost is higher than a normal deck and will take more than 1 turn to set up a [[culling ritual]]

quiet siloBOT
idle moss
#

oops wrong name but you get the idea

#

sac own things for mana = losing 2 cards for tempory burst of mana. aka a bad [[mana geyser]]

let me know if you want me to do some goldfishing afterward

thanks for the suggestions. i was thinking of including a self-mill or discard package to increase the speed i put things into the gy so i can reanimate them. im not really attached to the deck so if you know of another commander you think would offer more value than chainer that would be cool. i mostly wanted to make a sneak attack deck where im reanimating threats with feldon and thought adding black would only help with that goal

if you want sneak atk in the commander zone...

#

there is bad perphros and the one from the space set with warp

#

both mono red

brave dune
#

hmm maybe for purphoros but id prefer a less glass cannony commander... although i guess it is an indestructible enchantment

I play a chainer deck and had pretty similar outcome as well

#

If anything you want to have ways to ramp into your targets so you can hardcast them when they are in the graveyard

#

You will run out of reanimation spells pretty quickly when everyone targets the reanimation spells/reanimate target and rakdos doesn't have good protection

yes, i can somewhat consistently hellbent myself for the worst payoff in the game

#

Some people tried "tribal decks" where outside of changelings, there are like 10 in the game of that creature type and half of them have no effects, so they are automatically worse than types that have options
