#Need help cutting card in my Evelyn the Covetous deck

No card found with with collector number “soa” in “124”
[[triump of the horde|soa|124]]
[[!triump of the horde|soa|124]]
too bad its unfun at lower bracket i dont need it
They really did a great job with the art
but foregin language cards with unrecognizable art? with all the UB its not that special anymore
But yeah I get what you mean about Exsan, it was mostly an example of cards that you don't mind having in your opening hand
its hard to be used in a regular game
some of them are more broken than others, like the one with Demonic Tutor
well tutor is tutor
or the recovery seems really good for green just an extra creature for your [[beast whisperere]
[[beast whisperere]]
but generally you can see them as either a 2nd copy of a spell you want in your deck, or simply space compression
right, because we dont have enough cards to cut from the deck already XD
Cutting is hard
too many of them works better is power than fun
i think i had less issue cutting because i have a different focus on my brew
Yeah I value good and fun above just fun
i have very specific things to look for and i can cut out lot of "uneeded " and "unflavourful designed" cards
did i tell you that the jap art [[Farewell]] was one of the most expensive white card i bought from my pile of singles
i think i played it in one deck one and never again, until it got reprinted in the Tidus precon and now its a GC
i got that card because of the art, the simplicity and how "iconic" it is with "all modes"
Did you know that the Spanish version costs more
if you can reconigze that card without being able to read beyond the card name
then you can really enjoy its art
adios
[[addios]]
No card found for “addios”
cant spell french
[[Adios]]
i am too asian for that
its Adieu in french
every french i cant speak is just an alternative french
arabic just looks like bunch of snakes on the ground
i want less reading in my commander game as well
more talking shit and giggling fun
so as much as i love wording ygo cards
i am slowly avoiding certain things unless its janky enough to be in my deck
cast "non board wipe card" calls its "boardwipe"
next level Yugi attack the moon to destroy it and fill the ocean with moon rocks moment
think of it as a story/movie
if my climitic moment happens non stop
there is really no climax
you need the ups and downs to balance it out
i want that memorable and fun experience
thats why i feel like i struggle with voltron the most, its often make one person sits out of the game
successful voltron kills the entire table without 2-3 rotation
[[helping hand|soa|135]] this i didnt recall
its white surprise reanimate
and white also has more impactful small creature and self re-flicker
but its really a shit card you dont need in most decks
ooh i like this one [[!reprieve|soa|139]]
My [[Celestine the living saint]] Would probably run it
as an artist we love those difficultly drew body part even if its not naked
wrist looks weird but its minor enough
and i think the gamer side of me is also a sucker for those particle effects so the black flame/smoke is perfect
ahh now that i look pass the text box
i can understand why the wrist/forearm looks like that
could be completely wrong but its like a moment of hesitation
or illusion
so that the curved arm sort of represents that
i guess its not hesitation but more of a relief from pain relaxed
gtg 2 work bb
Finally able to go to my LGS, did a proper sending for Eriette.
What a trash deck lol
Also, fuck Sol Ring. All 3 games were completely thrown out of balance from a solring+talisman T1.
Sadly you cant punish solring fast enough before they benefit from it, or only by putting you behind the other 2 players in the curve
you forgot to [[!offer you cant refuse]] that T1 sol ring
i know some one that wants to play [[mental mistep]] just to troll that T1 ring
[[$mental misstep]]

too rich for my blood tho
i would need a proxy deck for that
but i find it a bit harder to justify a trollingmean to play against deck with proxy
just how much MLD can i fit in one deck challenge accepted
was this the deck that got scraped?
Yeah. Its getting replaced by the new Orzhov precon
A Commander deck featuring Killian, Decisive Mentor by Shahnaz • Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/secrets-of-strixhaven-commander-decklists
So far I'm just cutting a few cards and putting everything interesting in the sideboard
Every cuts are in considering
I'll prioritise goad auras, self-recursing auras, cantrip auras, interaction auras
No game changers for noe, but It would be tutors to get [[Sigarda's aid]] asap
Flash for 1 mana is the best. 2nd part doesnt matter since I wont play equipments.
No need for ramp either. Curve is low, and I'd rather have constant auras to throw out rather than draw ramp
Commander is draw so that helps
I just need to make sure I get enough creatures because I would put like 50 auras If I dont check myself
since there arent too many protection aura, i can see hexproof equipment may matters
Theres enough tbh.
ok then
Most have flash too
I might run more interactions if I can too. Too many solitaire decks lately
I also feel like I'm playing with a lot of shy pods that doesnt wanna offend anyone
yeah i think one of the thing i dislike the most in B3 is the solitaire combo and engine oil that ignores how other people plays
all sort of decentive to do things with "stax-like" protection effect
i wonder how bad a game would be if everything has hexproof indestructable on average
i checked over the [[!eriette charmed apple]] and goldfished it,the main problem is very much the direction and the focus of the commander
when it mention aura but the 2 ability dont have direct synergy, its basically just two seperate individual build around
first part is just pillow fort and no ability if the aura is on your own cards
go wide aura is very unstable hence aura is one of the most unpopular mechanic in the game
and then end step drain, only matter with lot of aura out, which is again very situation since aura on opponent's creature can fall off easily
The commander itself has 2 big weaknesses: It cannot force people to attack, and yoi are shit oit of luck of they remove her from the field; now theres aura-buffed creatures that WILL attack you before you cast your commander again
unless the game is at a stalemate, the game usually dont last long enough for that type of drain to matter
its like a shitty Gary early game
yeah and that too, you buff stuff up only for them to attack you because the pillowfort is only on your commander
but even if eriette stays on board the entire game with hexproof protection undying etc
They can just... not attack.
the win con, lack of consistency, lack of card draw engine is just awful
Her last ability doesnt do a lot either. You need a doubling effect like Delney
thus the only good auras are the goading and [[darksteel mutation]]
thats just a delney deck lol
weird enough, i think eriette is more like a [[authority of consul]] slow pace control deck
Yeah. Last game I had with her she didnt die but I had 1 aura the entire game
but instead of removal, you want more addition to the problem
yeah auras/non green enchantress dont have a great time in commander singleton
which kilian? the new precon one?
So you can still benefit on turns you dont play an aura
and tokens in general
Yeah. [[Killian mentor]]
Legendary Creature — Human Warlock
Whenever an enchantment you control enters, tap up to one target creature and goad it. (Until your next turn, that creature attacks each combat if able and attacks a player other than you if able.)
Whenever one or more creatures that are enchanted by an Aura you control attack, draw a card.
2/3
enchantress also dont work without cast while green has the best constellation draw
how much did you alter the killian precon
i guess you can consider eriette in the 99?
oh it is there
oh nice it s in the precon
i must be looking at the precon link from you XD
so the second one is your decklist
and you probably changed all the lands
Check the considering section. Its all the cuts
i already dislike the precon after looking at like 3 things
Yeah its white
it works but nowhere near who i want the deck built
so high on 3 drops and early game small stuff
it makes Grey in my colour palette
i think there is a few infinite combo with [[screams from within]] which is kinda funny/thematic to me
new art not as iconic [[screams from within|dst|52]] as the original
Still love the art on new one
maybe, if i see the card in person
i want to be able to somewhat make out the image upside down
not a huge fan of symmetrical symmetry
[[$scream from within]]

A Commander deck featuring Killian, Decisive Mentor by Shahnaz • Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/secrets-of-strixhaven-commander-decklists
yea, land tax is quite a reprint
Volrath i ended up trashing the deck.
and i really like the new [[changing loyalty]] maybe even toooo playable
rip volrath gone so fast
Felt cool, goldfish didnt wow me
i figured the power may not match your avg deck
hmmm it can be cooler but i doubt it will get more "popular"
its low ranking for a reason
I guess I'd rather print decks that I know I'll like.
sultai is probably the best colours in commander if not the most popular
atraxa's been at the top for years despite its unfun game play
so its hard to bring something new to the table with volrath
and then each LGS also kinda have their own thing
my oldest LGS was the most competitive at first since it also (primarily) host 1vs1 formats
but the people are still there for casual commander
so after some disgusting games and player interactions i felt like there's more push back
Im drafting tomorrow.
and the power level somewhat decrease/slowed down/ just try to adjust to others and have fun
then the store with most people are usually more chill but slower game play
also lot of different people, some sweaty and salty, most are just new to the game and not regulars
i would meta game too hard if i know someone too well
i build for the game play experience and the moment, so i will reciprocate with my most sincere retaliation
but overall, its much quicker and more efficient to just leave that table for another one
the less fun but necessary adulting side of social interaction
I like politics decks, but you need the right group. Some players flat out refuse to play into politics
so in a weird way, i am your most fun ygo commander player who cannot grow out of stax-storm so i try to make it fun for everyone
depends, because some part of politics is like group hug
if you go along with it, group hug will win, way too much
its objectively incorrect to go along with that kind of "politics"
but you cant reject that politic exist in multiplayer
I need to make a Police deck; something that keeps everyone in check without being stax
unless you are at the highest power level where everyone is your enemy and you cant trust anyone else but yourself
there cannot be alliance without completely breaking the balance of the format
and it would only lead to backstabing salty kingmaking in your Cedh game
stax has bad rep
but i believe there are many levels of stax
you DONT need [[stasis]] to play stax
i always see there are the differentce between soft lock and hard lock
in video game, soft lock you can fix the problem by restarting to the last save point
hard lock you have no way out
small amount of resources denial is better if not good for the game
MLD is the extreme case of discussion and very unnecessary as it also fails to solve any problems
how nice it would be if there is always like a [[erratic portal]] on each side of the table
maybe reads "Return target creature you dont control to its owner's hand unless pays etc"
so everyone has to work around it, but it doesnt host the game from continuing
i would really like [[intermediate choreography]] in marchesa. in here its okay but nowhere near having good synergy, more like an enchantment flying creature at a low cost. what are oyur thought on secret rendezvous
Enchantment — Class
(Gain the next level as a sorcery to add its ability.)
When this Class enters, create a 2/1 white and black Inkling creature token with flying.

: Level 2
Whenever you lose life for the first time each turn, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.

: Level 3
At the beginning of each end step, if a modified creature died under your control this turn, create a 2/1 white and black Inkling creature token with flying. (Equipment, Auras you control, and counters are modifications.)
i know some people would hate to give 3 cards to someone for free
so it comes down to opponent/table/personal politicking skills
i am in the middle, leaning toward a card i would generally take out
i feel like its lower power for the lower end stuff
I'd rather play [[cut a deal]] so you'd at least go +1
Secret rdv is a politics card, and hard to actually get a good deal out of it
You use 1 to draw 3 and they draw 1
3 mana give away 3 to oppenent draw back 3
You go +1
so its net 6 draws but you go +2
I meant +1 compared to your opponents
you lose 1 card to see 3 new cards that +1 comparison dont add up
your opponents each get 1
you get3 new cards they all get 1 new card
I prefer to see this as how many more cards you see compared to your opponents
i am meh on both in terms of number, but i can see more favour from one person if i just give out stuff with a specific target
not quite as strong as Bumbleflower targetting only one player
True, which is why secret is a politic card
are you keeping it, was it from the precon
No and yes
Everything in the main deck and the considering section is from the precon
Sideboard isnt
ah so small 15 cuts
if only strix haven have rakdos something
izzet is the closest to being artistic
Yep, its fine; wouldnt wanna buy more precons lol. 5 is enough
you got all 5 wut
Yes
Shops werent taking single decks for preorders, so I just bought all 5
I usually dont do that, but i wanted to support a small lgs
And it was discounted for all 5
[[Dont move]] [[fated clash]] Im liking these
Sorcery
You may cast this spell as though it had flash if a creature is attacking and a creature is blocking.
Target creature you control and target creature an opponent controls each gain indestructible until end of turn. Then destroy all creatures.
"I'll show you who's the better man!" —Seifer Almasy
[[dont move]] didnt get reprinted right
i should have bought it when it was at its cheapest but i hesitated on the white wipe
[[$dont move]]
$9.85 • €7.67 • 1.88 TIX
$348.32 • €217.08
No. Ill proxy it if it ends up in the deck
Split up is in 100%
Yeah
blue clue
I would if I went the abuse Inquisitor's ability build, but I went the other way
i need to lable my decks more and let someone pick which one to play, except they dont know what any of them means XD
Tbh I might regret it a little
fated clash remain me a bit of [[final battle]]
No card found for “final battle”
Fated Clash is an instant boardwipe, which I like very much
[[final combat]]
No card found for “final combat”
I can almost force it too with my commander
not as good as [[final showdown]]
i cant find the name
each player keeps one and sacrifice the rest
creature or planeswalker
Tragic Arrogance?
[[single combat]]
Oh yeah
would be nice if i play white decks more often because lowpower its like 90+% creatures
"fair magic"
spells and $trophy price cards are either power house or unfair magic
White board wipes are just good, but destroy is the weakest effect you could use
Sacrifice is best
yeah as much as [[!wrath of god]] is iconic
idk any decks that actually cares about it
Its dogshit now.
black doesnt run [[damnation]]
Youd need a dedicated super late game deck that runs 6+ boardwipes to even consider it
in boardwipe tribal + superfriends where do you think wrath sits
would it be in the top 15?
oh lol i am thinking like 10+
After top 10 it doesnt matter at all lol
Your hand
[[social snub]] is this a card that interest you
You know the saying "Be a man, use you hands"
No, I will have a low creature count
with just one creature, voltron style deck its kinda a cool card to run
but you really want to get rid of that creature before it resolves
so you lose nothing and the table takes the edict
Its better in orzhov aristocrats
and its kinda like a triple extort
Certainly good in... Taysa?
hmmm meh
The double death trigger no1 orzhov girl
3 mana kinda high for a single use respondable sac outlet
Wouldnt be me anyway.
But I will certainly try the Witherbloom precon
Its the next deck ill be trying to upgrade
didnt look at that either, so far only saw the boros one from deck help and a snail video
and the orzhov you showed me
precon lacks the personality and character i enjoy in commander for the most part so i am not big on the in universe commander build around
yeah pest is expected
just how it build its engine and boardstate i am not sure about
probably same old
Couple new pests cards
And yeah its not super modern. But I have no aristocrats deck yet
Might as well try it since I bought it
right i forgot you havent done everything
Not the most interesting archetype for me
are you aimming for the whiteless drain or more of a green sustain pinger
well green can do anything well and black makes up for the lack of creature removal
so its probably a good balance all around deck
Golgari stuff
golgari removal so good
and i like green for the beginner style super ramp
eatting dinner before LGS
Its gonna be an interesting deck though, because she doesnt need to ramp much.
because we dont have enough brigi in the game
¯_(ツ)_/¯
but i guess there is a cap on it since it does demand 5+ mana used on the spell
and the first time it doesnt create more mana than you spend unles you put an equipment on it
menace also helps with getting dmg through rather than just sit back like an artifact all game
as a non blue, non B3 player i am more interested in [[!return the flavour]] XD
No card found for “return the flavour”
[[return the favor]]
Yeah that card is in my marchesa. Really versatile
You can copy ramp spells, or good effects.
I won once with it, by copying and redirecting a [[Wrathful red dragon]] effect after a Blasphemous Act
i dont own one because it was above the price i wanted to pay at one point
the copy is what i like more since it can be someone's trigger/activated ability, aka everything
With strixhaven out I wanna work on my Queen deck. Lots of interesting cards
Its hard to make cuts though. It really depends on the pods I'm playing with
I wish I had gotten a Vampiric Tutor instead of Cyclonic rift lol
Reprint still has it at 90$. Ffs
[[Petrified hamlet]]
I like this
yeah i saw that for one of the ffew spoilers not too interested in it but its okay. in commander without 4 copies the chance of getting it is low, esp no land search but base line its a waste land upgrade so its usually a free include that can counter some big things in higher power
i wouldnt want it if i either cannot tutor for land; already have too many colours in my identity; have no choice but to play it as my only mana source from hand like a T1 bojuka bog (low land count deck) etc etc
the upside tho in the right match up at the right power is where it shines
so it needs to have everything line up, so its niche even for my janky ass play style
i have [[blood sun]] in one deck, havent really got to play it and i can get away with it like a free cantrip worst case
[[$wrathful red dragon]]

Finally were able to try out the precons
Well, 2 of them.
Orzhov Precon really needs to separate both themes into more aura, but I almost won vs B2 and B4 decks (B4 piloted by a noob)
Also tried the Simic one and its a powerhouse.
Xspells are fun to play with
yeah the simic one i didnt look through the entire precon but i know its simic in commander so lot of crazy bs

or this recent reprint
Finished with Silverquill upgrades. Ended up changing 40-something cards lol
Its definitively stronger than eriette. Theres so many good auras that becomes massive when you add a tap+goad to it.
I might try out some curses too, but right now the list is tight
sounds about right
yeah commander do more than eriette just without the slow drain
good to see aura getting some used outside of enchantress voltron or enchantress hate bear
not too sure how many curse are there
no new curse for a while and the "best" ones are lowkey too unfun to play against
[[trespasser's curse]] though i came to love because of how much i can get out of it
in a non curse deck that is
2 good ones. [[Curse of exhaustion]] and [[curse of death's hold]]
yeah i own curseo f exhaustion that i cant justify myself using unless i am at least B3 power
it sort of stops target player
deaths hold is very situational in my games
Ive got my share of solitaire players.
most stuff doesnt get killed by it
[[Bitterheart witch]] could also fit in
and 5 mana is a lot dependso n the deck colour identity, + ramp/curve
yeah witch is also jank for me
dont have a deck for it
5 cmc again
[[illness in the ranks]] has failed me in testing
at least forgot this card name 5 times
Could be a fine piece. No space for now tho
yeah, when you find a deck with major weakest against tokens
death s hold curse just seems awful to me at that cost
and it only affect one opponent
[[elesh norn, grand]]
but on a thing you cant cheat out and only affect one player... even for budget i question it's worth in the 99
maybe with the esper aminato + cloning enchantments
Nah you're right, I mainly went through auras first and it felt like a fun inclusion, but Virulent is just leagues better
Even then its questionable to have a spot in the 99, which makes the whole curse thing feels less good, although the jank with Bitterheart Witch makes it less random than Virulent when it comes to getting it out.
only be careful because virulent affect yourself so you either cant do the token stuff yourself/have to go with self sac aristocrats or have the option of playing only one of the two nonbo cards when you get both
knowing you and your avg power at your LGS, it wont last. it will get taken apart faster than that last sultai deck you built
bitterheart unfortunately in itself is a bad tutor
5 mana weak ass creature. deathtouch is worth as much as a 1-2 drop creature. human shaman not the randomly supported tribal typal here, and has a death trigger that no one will let you have it for free unless you force some politics
but its also bad politic with bad trades
"i will give them the worst curse i got if you take out my witch" "nah i will just take the 1"
hey you, white guy, you play [[fight or flight]]? its so much jankier and cooler than ghostly prison
can you imagine if everyone has more than 1 combat phase, and you can keep halving the number of attackers XD
https://scryfall.com/search?q=o%3A"at+the+beginning+of+combat"+c%3Dr+t%3Denchantment&unique=cards&as=grid&order=power trying to find the most unqiue one to play with
find this page upon being told to look up "unique volrath" i am meh with it but some of the combos seems newer https://commandersherald.com/how-they-brew-it-be-yourself-volrath/
while i am more about "I will be anyone else but myself"
i like the steel hellkite one although it will take ALOT of mana to destroy everything
although two-3 activation should be enough of a blow out
even if i go heavy on activated ability [[the enigma jewel]] i dont see that many interesting options
Legendary Artifact
The Enigma Jewel enters tapped.
: Add
. Spend this mana only to activate abilities.
Craft with four or more nonlands with activated abilities
(
, Exile this artifact, Exile the four or more from among other permanents you control and/or cards in your graveyard: Return this card transformed under its owner's control. Craft only as a sorcery.)
Locus of Enlightenment
Legendary Artifact
Locus of Enlightenment has each activated ability of the exiled cards used to craft it. You may activate each of those abilities only once each turn.
Whenever you activate an ability that isn't a mana ability, copy it. You may choose new targets for the copy.
until it goes multi card infinite
i like weird stuff such as [[bandit haul]] that may have a place but ultimately its a green deck with all the ramp
so the final win con will probably be tons of counters on your creatures
[[diigent zookeeper]]
into anything that has similar text as [[clamavus]]
lol i find [[chronatog]]
the giant growth spam
seems like only [[freestrider lookout]] once per turn interest me of all things https://scryfall.com/search?q=o%3A"once+each+turn"+id<%3Dgub+game%3Apaper&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name
Creature — Human Rogue
Reach
Whenever you commit a crime, look at the top five cards of your library. You may put a land card from among them onto the battlefield tapped. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. This ability triggers only once each turn. (Targeting opponents, anything they control, and/or cards in their graveyards is a crime.)
3/3
have i told you how much i like [[profession hojo]] yet
No card found for “profession hojo”
[[professor hojo]] aparently not that much when i cant even spell it
Legendary Creature — Human Scientist
The first activated ability you activate during your turn that targets a creature you control costs
less to activate.
Whenever one or more creatures you control become the target of an activated ability, draw a card. This ability triggers only once each turn.
2/2
4 randomly picked packs. Heyo!
Yeah he's great in Witherbloom too
a 2 drop body that can draw up to 4 per round is insane if you can get the maximium value
if you can get 2 out of it, it already pay for itself, so after the third card its just extra draw for free
do you know any interesting [[quirion ranger]] loops that are overly counterintuitive
Not really the right guy for liops and combos lol
right, too much for your white winnies go-tall Timmy brain 😝
jk
i think one of the main reason i have this bitter sweet love for [[ashya wild]] is exactly that
No card found for “ashya wild”
[[ashya, soul of the wild]]
either too many land creature combo or the fun of dodging Cyclonic rift without that opponent reading their own do-it-all GC bounce spell
i am someone who hate [[aura shard]] even though i almost hardly ever played against itsimply because it has no downside with "you may" on the card
in a creature deck in B3 i guess that would be the first card i proxy and put into a deck

wow, i think i got my at around $6, still never played once 😅 why did i even get it
my may be from one of the zendikars too since it was before duskmourn came out
Honestly yeah, I feel bad whenever I start playing solitaire, enough that I avoid having long turns when possible
Speaking of long turns, here's Lorehold upgraded: need to cut some stuff but pretty ok overall
A Commander deck featuring Quintorius, History Chaser by Shahnaz • Source: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/secrets-of-strixhaven-commander-decklists
Probably need to cut beyond 100 because theres still cards in the sideboard I wanna put in
ehhh why is everyone so interesting in lorehold precon
i am still half way through figuring out the storm deck that is fun for the table
time is a big factor
I bought all the precons, might as well.
And honestly, I've warmed up to it. it didn't interest me that much at first but I like Boros and I like it's not shitty for a Boros
I wanted to make a Quintorius deck a while back and scrapped the idea due to Quint sucking big time but this one is actually pretty good considering its a Planeswalker.
i guess, and 4 mana is much nicely than 5
my "lorehold" deck is a mardu that goes with [[descreted tomb]]
No card found for “descreted tomb”
No card found for “descreted cemetery”
[[desecrated tomb]]
too many theme so that ratio is actually hard to solve
WOuldve been a better card for the deck if it was any card instead of just creatures
[[Planar Birth]] Found this btw seems like a fun card
I also run Land Tax to fetch basics and discard them to hand size
yeah, the restrictive type makes it more interesting plus i had that idea for quite sometime ago, just never find enough things for it
[[$planar birth]] havent see this card in a while
$3.43 • €3.03 • 2.76 TIX
iirc its not much of a commander card but idk what format runs it. its nice as a non green reclamation
i guess people dont include it in case they are up against green land decks?
Not a lot of decks that will mill enough basics to make it worth imo
that exactly
i think i ran over 30 basics in even 3 colour decks but i have green so its easy to do basic search
[[!warmth]] just find this card never seen before
i wonder how bad is it on average in commander
red is not the most popular/common colour by any means and they also run out of cards quick
i like the flavour and context of it though, makes every burn spell sudden this little flame that warms you up
kinda comedic
Yeah
Anything wanting a specific color to do something is kinda iffy, unless its targeted at green or black imo

Although I'm not 100% satisfied with Lorehold. There's a couple of bangers I wanted to include in the deck
[[Renewed Solidarity]] being one of them
I only hesitated because its at end of my turn only
Besides that I'll check how Silverquill goes and adjust.
Now I'm working on Quandrix

I finally have a reason to included my borderless [[Wan shi tong librarian]] that I pulled
and I got my proxies so I can upgrade Queen Marchesa and Toph too.
i chuckled when i saw the 40 enchantments
that alone is $200 i guess for 40 cards thats not too bad
wow [[$malakir rebirth]] those used to be no more than $3

taking it safe
[[!retcher]] this is one i dont remmeber
i like the deck though, this is like my idea of GCless B3 deck
i would want to play that at B3 level
its one of those commander that allows for all the niche cards getting played i can applause to wotc for the design space
this week i relearn that protection also detach equipments, i completely forgot that part of the DEBT since T only stands for target, turns out attached/equipment counts even after the fact
Yeeep. Gotta be careful around protection auras
but i will certainly be doing [[curtain of light]] someday

Cast this spell only during combat after blockers are declared.
Target unblocked attacking creature becomes blocked. (This spell works on creatures that can't be blocked.)

idk if i would use [[!drownyard temple]] with quintorious
i usually do the panorama [[shire terrace]] to get more lands out of my 99
did you forgot [[scavenger grounds]] or just dont want it
too bad [[promising vein]] isnt a desert
Multiple cards match “crucible”, can you be more specific?
[[crucible of world]] seems to has a big part but its just ... get back land drop
[[seasoned pyromancer]] high $ insignificant grave ability but sort of better than [[!tersa lightshatter]]?
Oh man lol. Reread [[Quintorius history]]. Every card that exits my graveyard creates a spirit
Legendary Planeswalker — Quintorius
Whenever one or more cards leave your graveyard, create a 3/2 red and white Spirit creature token.
+1: You may discard a card. If you do, draw two cards, then mill a card.
−4: Spirits you control gain double strike and vigilance until end of turn.
Quintorius, History Chaser can be your commander.
Loyalty: 5
His +1 is a discard+mill effect
Crucible lets me discard the land for no loss in value
Not mentionning I will discard and mill lands with 40 in deck
This is horrible. I dont wanna exile my entire graveyard. It only makes 1 spirit that way
It exits graveyard. Plus its ramp
Absolutely not lol. Tersa is great here.
i know what it does, i just dislike tersa as a card
because i saw a bunch of desert and you dont activate the exile until someone is doing something bad in graves
so its like a colourless land most of the time
compare to black reanimate, it is a lot more damaging than a white self mill deck
It felt like you were shitting on great, synergistic cards in the deck. Crucible, Drownyard Temple and Tersa all work very well with Quint
I value Colorless lands a lot less. They need to be actively helping the deck to be worth it now imo. Same with tapped lands
no, not that, i just find those card to be very slow in general
the synergy is there but every cost so much to do
and having a planewalker commander makes the deck weaker to most of the fair magic creature combat so there is always a window for others to kill quintorious if they can
threshold is a mechanic i tried at times and i never got much success out of it, Tersa has haste but the threshold side is what kills it for me
crucible is because i expect too much from it; decks that usually run it are green with multiple consistent land drops and the most expensive ones also do fetching for the double landfall or off the top of deck.
in here while i pulls from grave, it always need to discard a land first then crucible (one of the 99) to pull from grave
so it is an unfair comparison for comparing the best sibiling to the inferior one
quintorious probably disinterest me after how much i looked at it and feeks like it need 7 mana to do something, where there are B2 decks that just explode at that scale. lorehold is more about the consistency and synergy and i am not attending their historical class
ideally, if spaced out those mana over the course of few turns, everything can be online by T4 T5 for the consistent token generation
which i also had lot of nasty games where hasteless creatures are very underperformed due to all the white pillowfort effect and the white deck doesnt have the removal for all the enchantments (or is the one playing the removals)
[[terrain generator]] my hate on Drownyard temple's speed in consistency, i never got to use its ability outside of my [[!zirda dawn]] deck
and then its just a one time ramp into play land
i dont have a way to sac a land in boros
Not a lot of ways, Except through the lands themselves
my good utility lands are all card draws from war room to [[bonder enclave]]
that was the deck where i pull off a 8 card infinite without
whats that untapped artifact
I'm always iffy about colorless lands with "Maybe this situation will happen once every 50 games"
one of those.... ah find it basalt monolith
Basalt and co should be used in cmc5+ commanders that needs to hit the field asap
as someone who dont really play mono colour decks, and havent built a colourless deck
i find that all monocolour commanders are basically 2 colours by default
and 2 colours benefit enough from utility land, again War room, that i dont mind extra abilities even if unused as long as i can "cut a land" out of my deck
so if my deck is playing 35ish lands, in game i am actually down to 30 ish
i hate lands and outside of landfall, my land count havent been over 37
Mathematical mistake lol
nah its call being greed and mulligan for that playable hand (i usually dont need more than 2 since i run like 15 ramp rocks)
i hate how 35 lands and i get flooded
% is not absolute
3 times with the same deck
Its just statistics
my shuffle skill need work
i think at 3 mana, i need basically 2 (coloured) lands out of something and easy to pull off [[myraid landscape]]
Myriad feels like you're losing board state so hard though
growing up in a religious? family, we believe in witch craft and pseudo science
i actually rarely had a bad game with myriad until i top deck it much later
Ah, I grew up in a religious family and went the literal opposite way
but at that point
its topdecking a land
i think my best comparison of drownyard is actually myriad landscape weirdly
first, get rid of it, then your land count can go up by 1 with 3 mana
so it depends how it was gotten rid of in the first place
but the biggest deal is because i try to cut out lands from the main deck
so in your case, by combination commander's mill 1 draw 2
you get to dig 3 deep each time
myriad is only 2 lands and one time
Myriad doesnt wanna get discarded for cost though
yeah not unless you got out that crucible already
so instead of bunch of random mill like timepiece
you are going for the guarantee discard
as long as crucible doesnt go away, you can discard lands all game
Commander and these will discard it to grave
yeah i know you have lot of discards
wasnt it 13 before
or i could mis remembered the number
or counted something else
I haven cut any from these since I've thrown you the decklist
I've got my LGS tonight anyway so I'll let you know how it went. I got this and Silverquill to test, and I've fiddled with Queen Marchesa
btw do you ever use [[loyal hound]] in a deck since you play white a lot
it kinda feels better than [[farhaven elf]] and certainly much faster than sad golem
or mana rocks completely kicks them out
No, since I rarely play ramp creatures in white usually.
Yeah, mana rocks does the job but I'm warming up to land ramp, but it is conditional
and drawing them when you are the 1st players always feels bad
yeah unless you have a weird land sac theme
which is now a jund or green combo thing
so without green, do white want that in a non blind focused deck
i can see in it a white land destruction deck
You can still get around it with Bounce lands, Lotus Field, Urza's saga
[[waste land]] an opponent so you both go down and then count another opponent for the catch up
Thought about it but its a 4 players game
yeah i would need to proxy urza saga, at least lotus field is now kinda cheap
but it is also working well with archeaomancer's map
which imo is the most important white ramp piece
because it digs cards out from the main deck
thats the point, you hold the gun to their head when they try to combo with broken lands, and sets up for catch up ramp
long story short, warhound seems very niche
high enough power you have access to fast mana, so tapped land is at best rampant growth
maybe hate bear B3 +
but the good hate bear also stops etb...
Strip mine is more a response rather than prevention though. You can't stop a player from playing a cabal's coffer/gaia's cradle and tap it for mana and you can't let them play out their turn if they already have it
Its great vs Planets though
Anyway, strip mine is to destroy the blue player's 2 blue open mana
i havent seen much of the planets since i play locally
and our local "meta" kinda learnt not to abuse the most broken land "mana combo" unless the table somewhat agrees to it
its like the one group of more experienced and competitive player who had all the good stuff from long ago
commander cube is something i enjoy a lot but not everyone has the time and effort to do that
i would love the idea of building 4 decks that are relatively equal in power and match against one and other.... so i guess thats just custom precon for experience deck builder/player
Only green and blue planet are relevant, but I've seen them enough to warrant a land destruction card in every deck
sadly the "just in case" are usually not in my hands when required
this jank think you got a way to use it? [[cryptex]]
Artifact
, Collect evidence 3: Add one mana of any color. Put an unlock counter on this artifact. (To collect evidence 3, exile cards with total mana value 3 or greater from your graveyard.)
Sacrifice this artifact: Surveil 3, then draw three cards. Activate only if this artifact has five or more unlock counters on it.
i thought of it in those "leave grave matters" commander themes but
they all have green and better stuff
the solved with 5 counter is the payoff which takes too fucking long
could have been 3
rip
i think i seen like one within beast on a gaia's crandle in the past 5+ years i played

Honestly though, I wouldnt play it except in decks that can proliferate
ahh the fun atraxa trying to be fun deck
i feel like a fun to play against atraxa deck is actually meant to be bad
but very synergistic to the point you have very little green and can run the deck without commander
you cant focus on any theme because +1 counts you overrun the table
super friends are awful to watch without taking long durdlely turns
you can do a bit of everything but jack of all trade is what keep the interesting going for the rest of the table
"i never seen that useless bad card before!! but with proliferate theme now it can do stuff!!"
vanish mechanic for example
I'm always looking into making a Police deck, where I can deal with everything and prevent people from winning all the time
Ticket the green player for speeding
in my defense i am without in speed limit of [[muraganda raceway]] it was my driver's fault
Esper is probably the best at policing the entire table constantly
[[gingerbrute]]
you can try colourshifted control
Depends on the commander tbh

sounds boring enough
hehe
last night played against someone a month into the game due to Sonic hedge
praised/preached about marvel fantastic 4
penis breath too?
whats that smell i havent been to such glorious place
Never kissed your girl after foreplay?
nerdy but hygeine seems fine, only a month into mtg after all. sounds like a big spender
what do you mean you cant suck her dick and then kiss your gf?
No judgment on that
same no comment, nothing personal, not judging, no offense
Back to nerd shit; I think they really dropped the ball with Hobbit too
No precon, small set
oh i didnt look at any of them
The One ring as a box topper
i rather have small sets instead of more spiderman
I agree but Marvel
forced big sets but not enough to fill the package
its like announcing "I am Asian, i only buy Magnum"
Doesnt sound like the one wearing it
why one ring box topper... is it that hard to sell
Money
that guy is at least 4"7' and those are two different measurements
but i mean
without the topper of the most wanted card
is the box that bad
no one wants it
or the price point is automatically skyhigh with this "guaranteed" value from topper
Big controversy with it too
i havent looked at any spoiled and i only saw the precons from discord servers
Its the same ring, reversed and with the symbols erased.
so i am kinda not affected by much of the 2026 new cards
with Dan Frazier's name slapped on it
the heck the quality seems to dropped
or pic is blurry
i cant see those engravings on the ring
just in case your card comes in SP condition
the ring in the art indeciate that for you
they are prepared for misprint and quality issues the moment it is spoiled!
Bit of a difference between low quality and art stealing though
idk if it is stealing or
just that the ring is iconic enough to look like the same thing
Bro, look at both rings. its the EXACT SAME ONE
it is mirrored but it need some prove that they match 1:1
Look at the reflections on the inside of the ring lol
because the left one not just looks better, something is off on the right one
i know thats why i know its mirrored
Anyway they already released a statement saying they fucked up. Can't be more proof than that
its like 2 people drawing the same egg, how do you know for sure one was copying
ah great so it is admitted stolen
because even with the same unmirrored image the newer version is lower quality
the shape of the ring is closer to a bowl than a ring
so idk how you copy/steal and made it worst
lazyness
people think Dan Frazier didnt even do the art but is taking the fall for WOTC
well, the one ring is one of those auto include high power commander card that isnt worth its price tag or function in commander deck brewing
i would proxy that one without a though if i have a deck or ever wanted to run it
may as well put the big ass one of one in the middle if possible
Its literally the #1 Gamechanger tho lol wdym
pre brackets pre game changer, i already avoided all the GC cards because i dont find them fun
if your opponents arent playing with high budget, it is not an accessible card for the majority, making it pay to win
I understand but its still incredibly potent and can fit in 99% of decks
if it is a $1 dollar card that everyone can use
it is still taking up a slot in the 99
i am here to brew with all 100 cards and i hate lands
oh, and now i want the untap artifact/bounce synergy so i can do more broken things with the broken card
i may as well build the entire deck around that reuseable T pro
should be reprinted in the main set of the hobbit tho
nah never worth the price of a card i dont want to own or play
not as a fucking box topper
especially with stolen art lol
box topper ruins it
XD wait til you see the rest of the set with 95% stolen / ai art
Or who's getting blacked in the hobbit
we need to convince the server that hobbit is using ai card so they cant post spoiler here XD
getting blacked sounds wrong
but politically correct
i think?
have you seen a few black guys in where you live
the ones i went to school with are like the chillest "white" guys, you cannot tell at all over the phone/behavior/mannarism etc
while when i hear my parents talk, every time they say bridge and beach it sounds more like bitch
not my job, only in school
not surprised
no new cards, these precons are aimed at new players
but give them one good mana base ffs
but if we look at the last precons they did, it should be good decks to start playing the game
Oh lol
Look again
you can still have really good utility lands
i dont want to see the worst mana rocks
diamonds enters tapped
In mono-colored precons? doubt they would do that
I might get them, depending on the reprints
i dont expect land tax getting another reprint by any means in a beginner precon but at least something like.... archaeomap or equivilent
Avacyn reprint?
but staples makes B2 less interesting
which the 8 drop one?
indestructible would wreck new players
Giada deck without Avacyn feels wrong to me tho
i guess
they can do other angels
maybe the one that meld?
or eldrazi too much to ask for
yeah they dont that
the only one was the every card is dual faced secret lair
sleeves sold seperately
Honestly though, at face value Angel decks feels like the best one by far
considering Giada is top 20 commanders
and everything else is lol.
Not even top 200 I think
and i have at least 2 years worth of games where each one is just dying to flying beaters
if we dont count the sudden end of infinite combo or weird alternative wins
always the unblockable beaters
yeah mono green being unintersting is opart of it
too many legends everything is commander
artifact? planeswalker? sorcery? vehicles
everything is commander
or enters and becomes a land with 5 counters of being asleep
enchantment we have backgrounds
room saga etc
battle is one we yet to have
Its shit so I doubt we'll see them again
comeon battles are like bad planewalkers that can be fun
some has good synergy if the commander also do thing
I meant as a mechanic
oh
some battle are just worse tutors/boardwipe
maybe they need burn outside of red to remove counters
it kinda have to be (lesser version of the original effect)
since it spread its power across a free speed on the back
but currently the sidequest is bit much
not worth getting that backside when you can do direct damage
i want to see indestructible/hexproof battle
and just ways that are meant for getting battles by removing those counters as an effect
beyond those niche black spells
gtg, I don't think we'll se anything new from them this year tbh. Reality Fracture's gimmick is just wrong-color planeswalkers, Star-Trek is gonna be more Spaceship vehicles.
👋 cya
i have enough toys from FF and whatever, just trying to buy the things that are still cheap before they go up in price and fade out of grasp of the avg budget player
Back from LGS:
-Silverquill loss
-Lorehold Win
-Queen Marchesa Win
Silverquill game, the 1st player ramped like crazy and had the commander that makes X Goblins with haste everytime you cast a non-creature spell. He had the exodia and I wasnt able to stop him even with a Meathook massacre
other 2 guys were very low skill and no interaction
Lorehold was great because the 2 other guys had PTSD from last game and hard-focused the winner. I was able to constantly make spirits with Crucible, Currency converter and Squee. Ended the game with Moonshaker cavalry and 12 spirits.
The deck felt weak to flyers though, so there's that to be careful of.
I think adding a couple of interaction and flyers would help. [[Luminous Broodmoth]], [[Hardened academic]] [[Erode]]
Erode work as a ramp spell too since I can just kill one of my spirits if needed lol
And lastly, Queen did Queen stuff. I won through Deflecting palm, and casting [[Flashback]] on my [[Angel's grace]] to survive
Instant
Split second (As long as this spell is on the stack, players can't cast spells or activate abilities that aren't mana abilities.)
You can't lose the game this turn and your opponents can't win the game this turn. Until end of turn, damage that would reduce your life total to less than 1 reduces it to 1 instead.
thats a thing? from casting spells?
XD common beginner tactic
luminous is a weird one because it doesnt work with tokens and without sac outlet it just a revealed double protection sort of undying effect
i need to rebuild a new player friendly deck where i dont have to explain each of my long ass janky cards with hardly any board presence
i am better off sneaking in values and just overwhelming as if i am playing colour shifted simic
at least the game isnt going to last 2hrs by default
the some of those precon and secret lair (that really attracts beginners to the game) are too mentally taxing and intense to play with. so the turns just keep getting longer with each attack declared if there are no boardwipes
along with bad threat assessments and no interactions
what do you think is "beginner friendly" but able to progress the game? symmetrical burn?
ahhhh this, you misleaded me lol [[ovika enigma goliath]]
Ah good to know
Token stop existing in the grave is a state based action yeah?
Or is it something else that prevents them from returning
NEW PROJECT: [[Marchesa the black rose]]
Legendary Creature — Human Wizard
Dethrone (Whenever this creature attacks the player with the most life or tied for most life, put a +1/+1 counter on it.)
Other creatures you control have dethrone.
Whenever a creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it dies, return that card to the battlefield under your control at the beginning of the next end step.
3/3
I wanna make a deck with all 3 marchesas, plays them all in a row at an LGS, like telling a story
I'm gonna start with the Black Rose, and I have choices; Either I go +1+1 counters go wide, or I go aristocrats shenanigans abusing the Dethrone mechanic
I'm not interested in the aristocrats part; I'm already working on the new Dina.
token "enters" grave like any creature would be since they only exist on the board they dont contribute to adding cards to the game or anywhere else other than the board
dies, then phase out of existent
gtg bye
Time to cut
I'm going the weakest version; put creatures on board and turn them sideways
D:
"And thats how I met your grandmother"
i think the self sac is important to a degree just to avoid my most hated path and swords
but in a weird way, marchesa provide this [[together forever]] effect from grave
Yeah I've got a couple
my favourite version used to be
[[great gargadon]]
Got some haste-enabling shenanigans
1 mana "sac outlet" that cannot be interacted with
interesting no anger but double boots
Can't send anger to grave
shroud hexproof is already super protective
Its for the haste
fair nuf
Swiftfoot might get cut just cauz it cost mana to equip
can be paid with either

equal to this creature's power.
: This creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn. You skip your next turn. Activate only once each turn.
