# wise skiff decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/j2-Pu2e0s0y-Y4CH2_U7fQ can anyone rate my ...

Hey! This deck was really fun to review and playtest with!

Here is an updated decklist with suggested adds, cuts, and a maybeboard:
https://archidekt.com/decks/12045086

I cut a lot of the token buffers in favor of making more tokens, token evasion, or having more things that you could sacrifice and attack with using Caesar's ability.

I also suggested cuts to some tapped lands, added card draw, and one recursion spell.

Reason for my suggestions:

  • During playtesting, I found that I had a lot of payoffs once I had tokens out, but I didn't have creatures that I wanted to sacrifice if I wanted to get Caesar out early and quickly in the game and start making the game plan happen.

But, the deck was a lot of fun, and you have a really good base.

I hope you playtest and ultimately build the deck and have lots of fun with it!

Please let me know if you have any questions about why I may have cut someone or added something 🙂 Happy to elaborate!

Why cut the anthem effects? Some i undrstood but why all?

#

Also why take out unbreakable formation? Everyone is always going with 2 to 3 boardwipes at least shouldnt i have more protection?

#

And isnt idol a good card draw engine

#

And i didnt get the point of ayara cuz i mainly have 0 mana tokens

#

Beside that i fo like the additions

#

Aleo fun fact the reason the decks name is Lord Zedd is cuz i intend to make a proxy of ceaser as Lord Zedd from Power Rangers

Great question! I found that during play testing that they were inhibiting the game plan and felt like incremental without being powerful enough to punch through.

I also found that I wasn’t going as wide and generative as many tokens by turn 6 or 7 to give enough advantage to making the tokens larger.

I’ll always say that you should play the cards you want to play, but that’s why I provided my recommendations of cutting those cards.

I found I wanted more synergy and being able to utilize Caesar’s effects instead of making the 1/1 tokens into 2/2s

Idol is a good card draw engine in token decks. This one was difficult to put on the potential chopping block.

What I found during play testing is that I wanted to progress the game plan and wanted to have someone to sacrifice consistently and that could attack to help trigger Caesar’s abilities.

I wasn’t generating a lot of tokens without Caesar out and doing the thing, so Idol wasn’t drawing me cards.

The idea is that you can recur some of your other creatures with her and that you can sacrifice them again in the event of a board wipe, things not going to plan, etc.

She’s in there to flip for the enchantment side. Admittedly, may not the best version of that effect, and you make a good point tbat the front side doesn’t synergies as much as would be ideal.

Maybe she gets cut for the unbreakable formation to go back in?

Happy to elaborate further, and I want to reiterate again, play the cards you want to play and have the most fun playing.

My suggestions are based on my experience playtesting and what I felt the deck was looking for throughout that process.

I hope my responses provide additional clarity and I’m happy to answer or reply to future questions - if any - as well 🙂
