And sometimes I don’t want my commander on the mutate stack, I want it on a different creature that’s more powerful, but not as well protected

Yes, mutate is a targeted ability, so as long as I mutate onto something that is not ivy, ivy will receive a copy of the mutation, simultaneously allowing me to mutate two separate things at the same time

I figured it was better than Otrimi since I mainly want to focus on the commander mutating, and not really creating a mutate stack. So for one extra mana I can avoid commander tax whenever it gets destroyed.
