Hello! May i have some feedback about the deck? I know it has plenty of room to improve with stuff like Boseiju, but i tried to keep it at a reasonable budget. ;-;

Hello! May i have some feedback about the deck? I know it has plenty of room to improve with stuff like Boseiju, but i tried to keep it at a reasonable budget. ;-;
[[sword of the animist]]
Just generally Card I love in yoshimaru decks
Its a good card, but from my goldfishing the deck has no trouble with mana
Its an early drop which is nice to boost Yoshimaru, but it gets weird on turn 3 since by then i probably preffer to play other things rather than paying the equip cost to attach it to Yoshimaru
I would add a bit more removal
Path to Exile, Doomblade, Stroke of Midnight
I would also add [[the ozolith]] but i do realise it costs a bit
Legendary Artifact
Whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, if it had counters on it, put those counters on The Ozolith.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, if The Ozolith has counters on it, you may move all counters from The Ozolith onto target creature.
As it twists, so does all life around it.
I would cut Noble Heritage. Maybe it's just me but i think this card is just bad
I wish i could afford the ozolith, maybe in the future
For removal, yeah. I too thought it was a bit light on it, might have to get a couple more in
It took me a few readings to understand noble heritage
[[noble heri]]
Legendary Enchantment — Background
Commander creatures you own have "When this creature enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your upkeep, each player may put two +1/+1 counters on a creature they control. For each opponent who does, you gain protection from that player until your next turn." (You can't be targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by anything controlled by that player.)
But it should be fine? Thing is that the deck has two commanders. So its a LOT of counter i can put myself on my creatures
It might be different for you, but how it always works for me is this card is actively bad. It only gives advantage to my opponents
They just choose the best option for them.
If they want to attack you, they can just choose to not get counters, and if they want the counters they can get them
Yeah, i do understand that
But you also get to choose, so at bare minimum is a 2 +1/+1 on your upkeep
And if someone choosed to put counters on something they have, you incentivice them killing eachothee
But i do see the cons of it
I would definitely recommend keeping Noble Heritage in the list. It's often 4 counters in a deck that can abuse those counters much better than my opponents.
It appears the link no longer works, but I'd be happy to provide my own perspective running these commanders for ~ a year now if you're interested.
I misscliked and deleted the decklist
But absolutely!! If you could share your decklist it would be of great help
Mine has definitely gotten more expensive over time, but I have experience with budget alternatives to the more expensive stuff as well. I also built mine to be more of an aggressive deck as a one mana commander that can become large quickly is a heavy incentive to play aggressively.
Out of all the cards more than $2, I'd recommend Breena the most. It is incredibly effective at closing games
Cool!
I'm definitely taking some inspiration from it, honestly i didn't thought of building more around Reyhan effect than Yoshimaru's
With sacrificing effects but, why not some more reanimator for it?
Like [[Tayam]] and [[Teshar]]
Legendary Creature — Nightmare Beast
Each other creature you control enters the battlefield with an additional vigilance counter on it.
, Remove three counters from among creatures you control: Mill three cards, then return a permanent card with mana value 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3/3
Multiple cards match “Teshar”, can you be more specific?
[[Teshar apostle]]
Theres also a few cards like [[Flagstones of trokair]], [[Boseiju who endures]] (I'm assuming this one isn't there because of the price tag), [[Barad ur]] and [[Minas tirith]]
Legendary Land
: Add
.
Channel —
, Discard Boseiju, Who Endures: Destroy target artifact, enchantment, or nonbasic land an opponent controls. That player may search their library for a land card with a basic land type, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. This ability costs
less to activate for each legendary creature you control.
Legendary Land
Minas Tirith enters the battlefield tapped unless you control a legendary creature.
: Add
.

,
: Draw a card. Activate only if you attacked with two or more creatures this turn.
"I would see the White Tree in flower again in the courts of the kings, and Minas Tirith in peace." —Faramir
They are decent replacements for basic lands who proc Yoshimaru and have extra upsides
The lotr ones enter tapped if you don't have a legendary so i could see not bringing them to increase the chances of dropping Yoshimaru turn 1
Buuut they are still pretty cute
I'm fairly certain my physical deck has all three of the lotr lands in it and that I've simply forgotten to update the virtual list (I always forget to update the lands in moxfield for some reason).
Teshar is an excellent option to rebuild after a wipe! I used to run them to great effect but took them out at one point when the number of hits dropped. However, the number of 6+ drops has been feeling clunky lately so there's a decent chance Teshar is making their way back into the list.
The fact that you have two commanders that can both work Teshar makes it much more consistent
I've never owned a Tayam so I cannot comment fully, but the mana cost + removal of three counters always felt like too steep a price for an aggro deck to me
I keep meaning to get a Flagstones of Trokair and the original [[urborg]], just having trouble finding one to trade for haha
Legendary Land
: Add
.
: Target creature loses first strike or swampwalk until end of turn.
"Resignedly beneath the sky/The melancholy waters lie./So blend the turrets and shadows there/That all seem pendulous in air,/While from a proud tower in town/Death looks gigantically down." —Edgar Allan Poe, "The City in the Sea"
And yes, the other channel lands would be fantastic, I just can't justify the price tag as the deck already does so many fun things and it doesn't feel like they'd really move the needle all that much
I think its more on the mana cost than anything else. Tayam provides its own counter in the form of vigilance ones which are pretty handy and that get doubled with stuff like Lae zel
I do have Tayam around, so ill try it and see how it works!
Renata also sounds like a very natural inclusion for this deck
[[Greater good]] and the new [[Railway brawler]] seems like a strong fit too
Creature — Rhino Warrior
Reach, trample
Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, put X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is its power.
Plot
(You may pay
and exile this card from your hand. Cast it as a sorcery on a later turn without paying its mana cost. Plot only as a sorcery.)
5/5
Greater good, certainly powerful. I'm less sold on the brawler as +1/+1 counter decks tend to have creatures that start small and get big over time so it doesn't seem as potent as they could be. I'm sure they'd likely still be strong as its a powerful card, but I think I'd put one in a different deck if I open one.
