Hey, I made a fun, budget build for a somewhat brother's war themed edh deck. The artefact ramp in black is somewhat unusual, as is the voltron aspect in black I think, but I'm having a lot of fun with it so far and wanted to share. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to comment them and please also suggest the cut.
Also, please remember that it's a budget build. I know bloodghast, cityscape leveler and portal to phyrexia(among many others) would be great here, but I don't want to afford them (yet)

I think there's probably some better top end artifacts to ramp into, even with budget restrictions. The Avenger and Exemplar (and the Cave Guard to a lesser extent) are real bad.

[[God pharoah's gift]] could probably work really well given the deck's sacrifice gameplan?

Yes, that is currently an issue. I haven't got to test the exemplar and avenger, but you are right about the Cave guard. These three are currently mostly in to get stronk with nettlecyst, cranial plating, etc and punch through the board, like the etched champion might as well. The reasoning being that they all have evasion (Cave guard doesn't, but the vigilance makes it a free swing) and can be easily and early ramped into. They are given the deck spots fir flavor reasons since they are all from brother's war, so you're probably right to replace them. I was thinking of [[phyrexian triniform]] and [[myr battlesphere]], the problem there being that neither has any form of evasion. I also thought of [[phyrexian processor]] to just... have a much bigger board and outvalue the others at the table, but I'm on the fence

I would also possibly look into some of the small dudes who make treasures when they die

As a way of getting extra ramp out of your ashnod triggers

[[Shambling Ghast]]

I have looked into them, but I prefer the cantrips like [[guildsworn brawler]], of which I've already taken out a few, skeletons, of which I'm not even playing all, and token generators like [[myr sire]]

I've found that you run out of gas VERY fast with them, especially since you still need to find a game ending synergy, like [[nettlecyst]], which is why I was thinking about some cards mentioned further above or sth like [[darksteel juggernaut]] or [[hexavus]]

Have you looked into some of the brothers war artifact creatures as big drops?

#

It’s not necessarily a win you the game card

#

But [[Terror Ballista]]

Seems like it’s a pretty decent budget artifact creature

[[Salvage Titan]]

Salvage titan would be too expensive for his stats any way I cast it and has no evasion.
I did look into Terror ballista and really like it in theory, but I'm not sure if the menace is better than the trample of steel exemplar or the flying of argivian avenger, I do like the removal aspect though, which is why armix is in the deck

But thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely start testing Terror ballista, I think I was wrong not putting it in the deck
