The topic about parallel universe and alternate reality is just a debatable topic. People believe its true and some don't. Other people think that our dreams and deja vu is connect to the parallel universe. Think of it like the choices you could have made in your life.

You can be a lawyer, a criminal, a different gender, a doctor, etc. We can't even prove that religions or god and goddesses are real and we're living off on rules to avoid war and avoid chaos that can destroy the whole world and end humanity and life on earth slowly being consummed by overgrowth of plants and expanding rate of mating of wild animals that taking over the world for millions of years before the earth and the universe dies as all of it slowly turns black and the whole process will begin again. "The big bang theory"

The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation for how the universe began. Simply put, it says the universe as we know it started with an infinitely hot and dense single point that inflated and stretched — first at unimaginable speeds, and then at a more measurable rate — over the next 13.7 billion years to the still-expanding cosmos that we know today.
