Hey y'all, just updated my client and donwlaoded the server pack (a few hours ago), copied the world folder, JSON files server.properties and the starter .yaml to the new directory but when I try to connect I get an error that the client is requiring EnderStorage and the server doesn't have it. I looked in the mods folder on the server and that appears to be correct, i couldn't find it. Any idea what's going on here?
#EnderStorage missing from server files?

it looks like this mod wasn't included in 1.11 either, why is it included and required in the client version 1.12.0 from Curseforge but not included when the server 1.12.0 sets itself up?
just copy enderstorage from from your mods in the instance to the server mods folder
or remove it from your client if you dont want it @lunar herald
Thanks, I had tried just renaming the .jar in my clients folder but it appeared to break other things is there a proper way to remove it from the client? I'd assume it isn't included in the server pack for a reason
I’m not on 1.12 myself yet, but if its downloaded on the client version, I’d assume its needed on the server side. It was more than likely a hiccup in installing the mods which can happen.
If you want to remove the mod just delete it, dont bother renaming it, i dont believe enderstorage is a dependency.
If it turns out to be a dependency, just copy it over to the server side and you’ll be fine!
it did need CodeChickenLib as well, but after i added that now it's finding so much more that appears to be missing.
i'm just using the 'Download Server Pack' button at the top of curseforge and running the script to install it, not really sure why there's a mismatch
was the server pack updated at the time?
there was a big update recently so your timing mightve been unlucky
I redownloaded it earlier today, i have 1.11 running on my host currently for me and the boys but was looking forward to the update
@lunar herald did you ever find a fix to this? I’m having that same problem now.
did you download the server pack from here? https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/craftoria/files/6075881
Yes
are you just running the pack as is or updating from a previous version
Running as is, that’s what the host is doing with their server
thats really odd, theres no reason for there to be differences in the versions, lemme have a look rq
i figured it was just corruption for 1 but to have it happen twice suggests pattern
Once I click back to server list, it says smth about neoforge
have you installed the correct version on your client?
21.1.90 isn't the Neoforge that CF1.12 is on
its on .93
so the server host has most likely downloaded the wrong file
The server is on CF1.21.1
As are the previous versions of the pack
but the server pack gets updated everytime the pack gets updated
the server being on 21.1.90 suggests that the person hosting the server hasnt downloaded the most recent server pack from CurseForge
So would the server host just need to upgrade to .93?
the host would need to download the right pack instead and start fresh, it would be much easier
or ig he could just put this in server files and replace his old one
it would be easier to just download and start fresh, but if he's against that, have him put that in his server files and get him to run "startserver.bat"
itll read from that versions config and update/download all the needed mods for modpack version 1.12
I have not resolved this for me, it appears the server pack is not downloading all the same mods when I set it up. Sticking to 1.11 for now
Have you found a solution?
No I've got no idea what the issue is, it's like the server pack just doesn't have the same mod list but I don't know how to verify that. Copying the mods from the client doesn't work as some don't recognize the "DEDICATED_SERVER" dist. Running Ubuntu headless
Yikes:( I have the same error. But it's weird because I get it in Prism Launcher but not on my Forge Instance
can’t you guys just add enderstorage to the server files? its a drag and drop process
You don't have the same version of the modpack on the client and server. When installing in the launcher you can choose modpack version. The official craftoria servers are on version 1.12.0. Do not worry about the neoforge version as that will be handled for you by the launcher.
It's the exact same version, it still won't work for some reason. I'm having this issue with my personal server
Do you have logs?
It does not generate logs, since the message thus thread is about is the only thing that pops up
If you still get that exact error, then I am confident the server modpack version is not updated.
I could double check the logs generated at <server_folder>/logs/latest.log and <client_instance>/logs/latest.log if you are sure the versions do match.
I installed it to a new profile on the curseforge client, and in this case what i've described is the client having enderstorage and the server not, clearly indicating I had the updated client as EnderStorage is a 1.12 addition according to the patch notes.
The server install is the 1.12 server pack link downloaded from the top of that new curseforge profile for 1.12 and has 1.12 in the name of the .zip file.
It does not generate logs
Say what now? xD.
Server should be spitting out a bunch of stuff in it's logs during just normal start up and shutdown.
Verifying/seeing what mods the server has is straight-forward: look in the mods/ folder of the server install.
( note, the server zip download from CF has no mods in it... they are downloaded by the server start script the first time it's run )
yeah it looks like the server script isn't working off the same modlist as the client is, because mods are missing from the server when I download and run the script for 1.12. is there another location for me to get the server installer script from? cause the link at the top of CurseForge seems to say 1.12 but is missing stuff
Yes, some mods are client side only; the script takes care of all that.
It does download EnderStorage and leave it in the mods folder of server install... source: my own local server installed with the 1.12 server zip off of CF.
are you running Windows or Linux? i've reinstalled it a few times now and each time EnderStorage isn't included
i could paste an ls of the directory for you if that would help
naw; i'll try again on mac (which uses the unix start script, coz... unix ^^)
Which are you on, btw?
(they really should behave the same)
im using a headless ubuntu "server"
I had iit uninstalled for a while until just now and I can see EnderStorage in there now... i'm going to try moving the world over again and see what's up
after moving the json files and server-setup-config.yaml starting the server again seems to overwrite the modlist, I guess moving my world over isn't going to be quite as easy as I hoped just copying those config files
i'll move the world folder and make the edits to the .yaml file manually in case there's somthing in there causing an issue
What mods are you adding?
nothing just didn't want to make the little tweaks manually
I mean, its fine if so; we have some not-pack mods on the official servers.
We keep a copy of them in their own folder, so it's easy to add them back in after updating the pack.
i've had the server running 1.11 for a while and just want to carry that world over
I think I know what's going on, you somehow got the server starter fiiles for one of the bad versions of the pack, which are archived
i think the issue is that i'm just copying the server-setup-config.yaml right from the 1.11 folder on my host and didn't even think to look to it when i had the issue
the link to the modpackURL is baked in there and i was trying to save time adding more ram, shooting myself in the foot lol
:p
well this is encouraging i'm giong to try this again and report back lol
Still, thanks for letting us know about what seemed to be a bug ... and perhaps indeed was. (i had forgotten about the 'bad' 1.12 server zip that had a short life on CF)
that makes sense cause I could have sworn I tried connecting without moving anything over and it was still failing early on. this would have been like the day of or after the 1.12 release
if it was after jan 11th, those files would've been good ones
based on some messages to a buddy I was messing with it on the 14th, but either way I was definitely causing myself a problem when I tried migrating the world
yep all good here, manually edited the .yaml and copied the rest over, connected just fine.
Thanks for jumping in
