#Add Mythic Metals to Orechid

Some of the Mythic Metals are in short supply ie: Aquarium and Promethium, not as much since the border increase but with how nice some of the metal blocks look I can see them being really useful for decoration outside of the normal use.

#

Or at least add them to some kind of resource gen...Botania's Orechid or MI's Quarries to name a couple options

I like the Orechid for Mythic Metals (not against the MI quarries either though).

What do you think would be a fair/balanced chance of getting them?
For reference, these are the current "weight"s for pack-added Orechid recipes:

(edited to sort by weight)

#

(uh... prolly should have seperated those by input block; half are stone, half are deepslate)

reef lantern
#

Oh jeez...going off the numbers posted here id say somewhere between 4500 - 10,000 for most of the ores and maybe 500 or lower for unobtainium

#

actually...is there a way to see how often they spawn in the overworld and just bring over the same weights from world gen?

karmic wave
#

good thought; idk. will look for that info after classes today.

#

REI doesn't show a chance/rate for them?

#

jeez...there was alot more ores than i thought

#

To put it into some perspective...Deepslate Monazite is 0.0038% so most of these should be rather low in weight id think

#

most of this data is through the caving/mining dimensions

karmic wave
#

holy 🐄!; thanks for collating all that!

#

Next (last?) question... what do you think would be good input(s) blocks for those? I think we can keep it simple, just 1, maybe 2 or even 3, inputs... but definately different than the stone and deepslate inputs already in use.

reef lantern
#

I think stone, deepslate, netherrack and endstone would cover them all outside of some odd variants like blackstone, smooth basalt, tuff and calcite which are already covered by the 1st four options i mentioned

karmic wave
#

Oh MMMM*, just checking, what about these ores that mythic_metals also has?:

mythicmetals:deepslate_unobtainium_ore
mythicmetals:end_stone_starrite_ore
mythicmetals:unobtainium_ore
mythicmetals:platinum_ore
mythicmetals:silver_ore
mythicmetals:tin_ore

The platinum, silver, and tin... maybe we can skip Orechid recipes for those.
As for the other three, what say you? Recipe or nay, and if so, roughly what percentange chance?

#

*My Mythic Metals Master

reef lantern
#

Unobtanium should def being on the lower end...maybe 25 and the deepslate being 45?

#

maybe for endstone starrite...divide w/e iron is by 43

karmic wave
#

ah, just flipped back to here as I was about to launch an instance to double check for errors.
These are the weights I came up with, after using finding the common factor between our existing custom orechid recipe weights and the percentage REI reports for those orechid recipes in-game:

ooh.. ugly transparent pixels.. hang on...

ugh, discord doesn't tab nicely.

reef lantern

actually that works better

#

that should be fine

karmic wave
#

(350,000 is the number to divide weight by to get the in-game % REI shows)

Thank you, for helping work this out!

Add Mythic Metals to Mining Rig Orechid

Add Mythic Metals to Orechid

karmic wave
#

Umm... so I was going off a wrong assumption about how to calculate weights for a custom recipe from % chance ocurrances like that.
The actual percent change for an orechid result is the based of the sum total of weights for a given input block.

I'm thinking of keeping the relative rates from the generation numbers you collected, and just having all the mythic metal ore share one input stone (I'm thinking end stone)... make things straight forward to generate all the recipes that way.

S'all right, y'think?

karmic wave
#

semi-nvm... that'd make most of the stuff have a very low chance. Sticking mostly with the inputs I layed out before.

karmic wave
#

forgot to add... done. will go out next update

Sounds good man. 🤔 I should probably get an orchid setup

#

Calcite Starrite would likely not show up in the mining dimension, unless it is tall enough to have mountains in it, and those mountains contain Calcite

#

It is a rare legacy ore, which can be found in a vanillaish playthrough

#

(In a Spectrum context however, it can be found more frequently, due to Topaz geodes spawning in mountains)
