from what we understand this was from one of our allies for 2 reasons:
1: guis were opened and looted
2: specifically the swmg claims were targeted, not the connecting claims

Dan logged out before the next server restart around 1AM EST, so the griefer could have been logged in and did it after Dan logged out, or after the restart at 1AM (more likely

it's very unlikely that Dan wouldn't notice before he logged out around 10 something.. so it means the griefer had to be on after the 5PM restart or after the 1AM restart. Dan logged out at 10:16 PM so it would have happened, most likely, after that time.
I just compiled a list of everyone that logged in after 5PM EST yesterday, but also separated 1AM since late night griefing is more likely to go unnoticed

keep in mind brother and imu are also on my team and lurk around my base, both of which logged off before the restart as well, so i definitely think it was after the restart

also I wouldn't put a lot of weight into the "they would have got an advancement idea" since they could have had a full inventory.
Also I sometimes use my magnet to keep items at my feet, then fly away and turn off the magnet to drop items, or drop them over/into lava - which they could have done too

Sounds like you guys have a good start on working on ways to narrow it down; especially trunksbomb's list.
I can pretty much scratch SYNC and Leonxilofin off that list for ya (long time player and a former team-mate of mine).

If you set up multiple then you could use it to track people throughout your base.
it wouldn't stop anything, but it would realistically narrow it down
and if you put out some bait stuff like a juicy ME drive or a chest full of expensive stuff you could use it as a canary and track when it's missing 🙂 sounds like a fun project
