what the fuck
again
blame uh
blame heracles
GG on being there already though
fixed
ah for the mother of all pearls?
Except it was proven you were wrong!
wasnt yet!
still, having to farm for 5 hours, and still not having it is not engaging gameplay
we havent seen 1 enderman
and we havent been in only 1 location we have been all over the map and even in singleplayer
and creative
@solemn juniper this is an important issue
holding back our progress
the time we spent is unreal
thing is … we already have everything else. Just saying that looking through oceans for hours or even days is not fun for players
dont want to argue much about it but its pretty annoying, they dont spawn.
We will for sure figure out their spawning issue.
Looking at the mod, they spawn only in warm oceans. Does not have a config or datapack method for changing the spawn weight. But we could add it to more oceans
So what, just build a big platform over a warm ocean and call it a day?
they spawn in oceans, not above, they die on land
they could also be added to deep mob learning but didnt find a config for that either
yeah no
yeah, yeah
because the fact that i just made a platform under the water, set it to night and one spawned instantly should be plenty evenidence it isnt that hard to get
I would assume you didnt create that map on 1.0.0?
yeah the server map was made on 1.0.0
it shouldnt matter. the enderman look for spawning conditions, not the mod setting pre-dermined tags to biomes where they can spawn
This I do know how to do. And is very doable.
could you by any chance add a data model for all ender man overhaul ender man types that you can only level with mobs from that mod and is made with lategame materials from mi or stuff (would love to see bewitchment, botania and spectrum, it is not needed at all in any recipe yet)
@drowsy lava im sorry but could you please describe what you mean with "platform" nothing is spawning
oh, and also gives the bygone nether one, that is a PAIN to get also
idk a flat 1 thick layer of blocks. i did it and smth spawned, idk how else to explain it
looks like it chooses a random integer out of 40, if it equals 0 it spawns an entity at < serverLevel.getSeaLevel() - 5
so needs at least 5 blocks of water above
looks like it
idk, im reading the code, its not the most difficult to read spawnrules
isDarkEnoughToSpawn, so im guessing that of regular monsters, so light level = 0
but still, just to get 1 single pearl out of 15 for a thing you need many more things for is just stupid
we had to farm ~8 hours total for all the other pearls, that alone should be more than enough
not doin anything
we got 1
okay so i started swimming through a large warm ocean biome. every maybe 50 blocks, i ran a command to tp all coral enderman in a 100 block radius around me, to me. i got one just about every time. meaning if one person swims to different parts, then the other swims around them in that 100 block radius, you are bound to find one.
just ran the command again and got 3
they're 100% out there
and closer than you think
server mob cap

they've got the same spawn rate as normal enderman
all the modded enderman from that mod do
It's spawn weight vs all other possible spawns and their weight for Luke warm ocean. Nothing else matters in that equation.
but less possible things can sapwn in water compared to surface, no?
True. Not sure what hostiles spawn there
@solemn juniper could you do anything like that?
those skeleton type thingy and ocean creepers
i think thats really it
