We went down on The Elevator and they glitched through the floor of it, which led to them falling to their death, and as I got down to the bottom level, I checked and their gravestone was gone. Checked above and below but cannot find the grave, even though their red X is right there.

to look at your own graves. The red x is handled by FTB Chunks map and has nothing to do with where the graves gets placed.
