So @solemn torrent recently ran a game of … uh… ‘technically’ blood on the clocktower as an Oops all amnes. I don’t know what to call it - so I’ve decided the moniker puzzle game. This is being set up as an oops all amnes script but will have a different objectives than a standard BOTC game. I wanted to see if anyone would like to give this a try.

Two things:
1: reminder game is in 4 days
2: unfortunately one of the people I’ve let inside the curtain noticed a critical flaw in the original puzzle (basically answer was potentially already known/searchable on google) and I … didn’t really have a way of fixing that…

So I have three possible paths:
1: we go with the original script and effectively ask you … not (I know that this … might… not be feasible for some of you unfortunately)
2: I have functionally created a proper AA script
3: We ask a mod if we can have both in two different game rooms? I don’t know if this would be allowed but I figure no harm in asking if people are interested/we run both one after the other

Path 3: we attempt to do both

Basically in jimothys game there was no evil team and good had a series of goals they had to discover and complete in a set amount of days otherwise they lose

I wouldn't google things, and I would trust everyone else to not Google things. Idk how game-breaking/annoying/unfun it would be if someone just already knows whatever it is without googling, though? If you think anyone in that position would still have fun, then that seems fine

I'd also still play if it was AA. I'm less sure I'd be up for doing both at the same time in different channels, tbh

Ya. I mean at this point for any game people could probably get a chatbot to solve at least a tb, and we trust that not to be the case, so we can trust the non googleness. But ya if it's already known it might be a problem

I -suspect- it won't be an issue - two of the kibitzers didn't find it, but I did feel it was at a minimum something I wanted to mention and offer an alternative to for transparancy and to put the final desicion here in the player's hands

I mean, if someone accidentally outs evil to me outside of like ppg/magi baits, especially if they’re new, I would just go “I know this was an accident which I will not out you for, but I simply cant ignore this so I will be pushing in this direction” and directly tell them this

Because it sucks as a player to be put in that spot of accidentally having outed evil to someone and sucks even more if you out the demon to someone by accident, and I think something similar to this approach is something you need to have if you’re going to have a good time playing this game

It is not fun and it’s a sucky situation, but it’s better than ruining the whole game for everyone

And if for some strange reason you can not sub out. You can just be quiet. It sucks and I would feel bad, but the alternative is being the jerk who already knows all the codes to the locks and ruins the puzzle for everyone around them.

Imo, knowing the puzzle here is not the same as somebody else outing evil, but maybe seeing the entire grim due to an ST mistake, seeing a message meant for someone else in your ST thread, or even IRL seeing somebodies device accidentally. In these cases the ethical thing to do would be sub out. Like geebs said, it's a bit shitty if you know the grim and have to sub out when you were expecting to have fun, but I don't think the mods will have a problem for you requesting a sub in this specific case. And of course if this were to happen you wouldn't reveal the grim to the whole group would you? It's just a sucky situation. Just my thoughts.
