I decided to start keeping track of all my different Musical Chairs variants on here, and if anyone has any suggestions and whatnot.

(Also this should maybe be put in Custom Script but the Musical Chairs Toric is technically Homebrew so I've put it here, if I should move it, lemme know)

Would Lord of Typhon still add a minion? Then there are three base evils and in any teensy if all evils are swapped into then it becomes a majority voting by force, yes they still have to know but

It’s definitely risky, I think things like, evil not knowing each other, marionette might balance it out but I see the point

Yeah mario and still needs lots of coordination, I guess it is no different than getting a voting block with a Mez or something

This actually got me thinking though, its not really unbalanced for minions to turn good in Musi Chairs.

Musical Chairs Rules
You swap characters and alignment.
Each player can do this twice per game.

Every player starts good.
Goal: find and kill the hidden leviathan.

You can swap with any seat.

If you want to swap with another player, they must anonymously agree to it.
It will not consume your swap if they reject this.

Swaps are first come first server and happen in a 'swap phase' before the regular night phase.

At the start of the day it is announced how many 'swaps' are left in the game. E.g. If nobody swapped in 5 player game - there'd be 10 swaps left in the morning.

I usually do double the player count +1 or 2, I'd do 8 seats for 3 player

The Riot one is for 2-3 players and its just normal Riot rules. The only change with musi chairs is I would only give players 1 swap if there were 3 players since there can only be 6 seats maximum

So, if I understand this right, it's a script that's made to work with even less than 5 people, right? If a seat is empty, then there's just nothing that happens there? (ah, except Poisoner)

What is the point of the [-1 minion] on the loric with the [+1 minion] from the imp? They just cancel each other? Or is that for the other versions of this script?

How does Ravenkeeper work? That's one I don't quite get the wording on.

Also for those who've tried this, which version is preferred?

i play musical chairs quite a bit with my mates since we dont have enough for teensies, found the trouble brewing one not as good as the original though

i play musical chairs probably more than anything else because aside from on this discord where yknow theres always loads of ppl, me and my mates usually have a maximum of 3 players and we just dont use some of the og musical chairs roles enough or at all to warrant us having them on the script, so i took a few minutes the other day to change some characters around, replacing what we dont/barely use with some new ones that might make the game a bit more interesting for us. Thought i'd share it.

i do need some amnesiac ability ideas because its one i want to use but never have because i havent got any ideas for it lol

i was also thinking Zenomancer could be fun to use every now and then to spice things up a bit occassionally

it might be because i play with a chaotic group but ive played it with these changes once only and in that one time the goblin won on day 2 lol with the evil ogre on their team

i changed mastermind cos i dont see how it changes the game imo, it seems to just prolong the game and you know its a mastermind day because there is no leviathan announcement, and we just didnt use the organ grinder so i changed it out. those are my reasonings, acrobat is just kind of silly and it got someone killed so funny

i think organ grinder is more suited to a solid group of like 3 or 4 but best we have is 3 and usually 2 and theyre the type of ppl who will always play for good except 1 lol, theres always 1 so organ grinder doesnt fit with us.

i didnt use the washerwoman or grandmother much either i'd be more inclined to using the grandmother than the washer tho.

i like the iinclusion of ogre over mutant because you can just swap out of mutant and it doesnt rly affect much whereas i think ogre has you questioning things more than 1 madness character does. thats just my experiences with my small group

Yeah my version its meant more for 3-4 players. But i think the OG version by will (that doesnt have Mastermind) works much better in 4 that in 3

I was considering adding in alchemist/boffin

I think the more passive Minion roles is more suited at least to my group. We are not all that experienced as a whole - I am the most but that's not saying much and I think adding In harpy and mez etc for us is too much confusion all at once.

It's also a real split between good team and evil team winning but I might look at yours/Adri's and see what could be moved around on mine.

How do you run mez you think of a word and even if no one is playing as the mez if someone says the word they learn that night they're evil? Cos I would be up for adding it in potentially if that's how it is run

and how do you run grandma cos i know it's if you kill the child you just insta lose right? which is one reason i didnt rly use it, i think just a random instant loss is kind of lame but i suppose it is used as an encouragement for ppl to swap to find out who the child is or do they get a new child when they swap into it?

If there are other demons, the +1 minion is unique to the Imp. Ravenkeeper is a bit weird but you choose a number of seats and if one dies (like via Slayer) then you learn the characters of all previously selected seats.

Pretty much that if the grandmother is not in a player-occupied seat, you throw it on an arbitrary empty seat and if a team is about to execute that seat, it would be an instalose, so you can just move it right before the moment of execution to prevent that.

The power of a grandmother in a leviathan game is hard confirming a player and character, that advantage does not hold if the grandmother is in an empty seat, so no reason the insta-lose should apply either.

This is largely his project, I just gave slight tweaks and works to the character abilities. He's the one that initially switched the tokens to the official (before clocktower.live started doing it), writing the custom role text, and the proper reminder tokens
