i do have some questions though

  • are you allowed to duble check whispres/ST information/ Public messages later on? cause i know in a irl blood on the clock tower game you'd have to rely on your memory so wondering if like, say you get information on day 1, is it allwoed to go back and check in day 2?
  • Will the day and night phas ebe the same amount on time for the entire week/2 weeks? If not will we be given a rough schedule of when each day and night phase will end/start or is that unpredictable?
    -Is the total number of whispers a per game thing or per day thing?
    -are tone tags allowed/the manipulation of tone tags allowed (i feel like the answer is no but thought id check - tone tags like /genuine and stuff)
    -whats privately voting?
  • for stuff like the evil letter/demon whisper, what would the prupose of it be? and where would oen tag the storyteller
    -Are we told before hand what order everyone is "sitting in"?

  • you can always recheck your whispers and ST threads anytime (this makes spy a bit buffed for example though iveheard that some sts already allow spies ot take an picture of gri withthier phoen in reallife)
  • most ST's run 24 hr days and 36 hr days on weekends & announce this
  • its per day and ST wil annouce it in the rules thread how many whispers you have and how much words you can use in neighboru whispers
  • its to vote so noone sees your vote since peopel relly on timzones and multiply noms are open at the same time poeple can conditional thier votes and even prrivate ote in their ST thread often used by evils to switch the vote last minute in public you see they voed yes in piravte they mith have voted no for their demon and once the ST counts the votes the private vote takes priorirty
  • you sent these in your ST thread and the purpose is to help the demon a bit
  • most ST allow you to take a seat and mostly they have already rolled a bag for the empty seating

longtext is an nice format in which you can rreally take your tiem to solve the game rtahe rthen needing o make quick descissions

is it balanced always? maybe not but ST's generaly know beforehand and adjust their bags and help one team where needed to balance the facts it splaye din longtext

For the tone tag question i don’t believe I’ve ever seen that come up? That does feel like the kind of thing that would fall outside of regular gameplay and wouldn’t be allowed but I may be wrong (specifically the manipulation of them, some people do use tone tags regularly here)

okay cool! i saw a video that was like "pretending to be upset/manipulating emotions to liek an extreme level is genrally frowned apon" so i was wondering if in a text game that extends to tone tags which i feel like ti would, and i was wondering cause i also tend to use tone tgas but i feel like if im not using them if im evil and i use them when im good it might be an indicator so i was just wondering

I'm not an ST or authority but some people use tone tags and I think it's absolutely fine to use as evil. As I understand it, there's a difference between using tone tags and intentional emotional manipulation, yeah?

There's a resource for text-game conflicts (etc) that goes into emotional manipulation/emotional bleed a bit

No worries! We love questions!

  • Yep! You can go back and reference everything that was said as often as you like. Deleting or editing messages is not allowed (except the occasional typo). Even removing reaction emojis is not allowed, so everything in the whole game will always be there for you.
  • It's unpredictable. What will happen is the day will start and you'll have 24 hours to start private whispers and to nominate people. But then voting on each nomination stays open for up to 24 hours from the time of the nom, and only after that will day end (short of a virgin proc, etc.). Night lasts as long as needed for everyone to submit their night action. That's the part that can vary a LOT. Anywhere from no time at all, if people have presubmitted night actions, to over 24 hours if someone is really slow. Carte and I encourage everyone to do them quickly but we just can't predict it
  • The number of whispers is per day
  • Tone tags are allowed but I'm not sure what manipulation of tone tags means

  • So for each nomination there will be a bot that you'll input your vote into. You can run the bot command publicly so everyone can see how you've voted, or you can run the command privately so people can't see how you voted until your vote is locked in by the storyteller. You'll have a ST thread that only you, Carte, and I can see. In there you can talk to us at any time, keep notes for yourself, run private votes, submit your night actions, and anything else you like
  • You'd also tag the ST in your private ST thread for demon letters/whispers (and any other time you need anything). Demon letter/whisper can be used any way you like. It's often used to pass along bluffs at the beginning of the game, or to suggest actions during the game. It helps the evil team coordinate a little better in an untraceable way, since so much in text is traceable (like people are far more likely to notice who you whisper in text than in person). It also allows for better coordination despite timezones.
  • Yep! Different STs decide seating different ways, but an image of the seating order will be posted before or at about the same time that everyone receives their character token

thank you!!! by manipulation of tone tags i mean like for example if i was evil and using the /gen tone tag on messages i would if were good but it would be false (for example: i am good/genuine or this is what so and so told me /gen, and im inclined to believe them ) honestly the more i think about it the less i feel like its something i would personally use and i cant think of a lot of uses for it so maybe this questions is useless lol sorry

oh also @jolly flower usually games here have threads to do stuff so its easier to find stuff such as:
wshispher trackign thread: to declare whispers with cheach other (nieghboru ones areanonmously and have a word limit per day)
public claims thread this is wer epoepel place thier public claims so they are easy to find
public aciton threads: this is a thread where players tag the sotryteller (ST) with @st(whatever game channel you are in ( sinc ethis is rsvp its an R channel the channel name has te number)) wiht your action EG if you are an slayer you tag the ST and say i wish to us emy slayer ability and shoot X (you can even do this if you wan to bluff (pretend to have) slayer and the ST will usualy react that they saw your action and in some cases can even write some flavor that your shot (probably) missed or in rare cases actually was sucesfull 😄 this htreead is alos sued to aknowledge that you want to consutl the sstoryteller for abilitys like savant and fisherman who are day abilit y to gian info during the day you do not need to do this if oyu have an question about your charater
nomination thread: this is where nominatiosn take place thorughout the entire day peopel can nominate othe rplayers using the @acoustic grove bot using >nominate (game number) (nominee) you can start a nomination that sualy runs for 24 hrs the momment its made you can then use >addaccusation (game number) "(accusation)" to write an accusation as to why you are nomming use "qutoe marks" so that if oyu hav emutiply words it does coutn all insdie th emarks as 1 single thing and the nominee may use >adddefense to add their defense the same way then people can use >vote (game number) (nominee) "(vote)" to leavethier votes you can just vote yes or not or put an conditional that does not look in th efutre somehtign liek "yes if none on the block" or "yes if im the 5th to vote" work

as someone who has required tone tags in multiple parts of my life, when it comes to clocktower games, I’ve generally interpreted them as “The Person Behind The Character” is speaking, I would believe them if they said “I’m frustrated /gen” but I wouldn’t hear “I’m good /gen” there also generally shouldn’t be a way for someone to say “I’m 100% Telling The Truth” in clocktower because as said, someone could use that as evil and not good. A good rule of thumb people use is that if you can’t do it as evil then don’t do it as good, this sometimes happens when Bad Things Happen but that’s beside the point
TL;DR I’ve seen people use tone tags but not for game related statements
