#ST cooldown should be proportional to the amount of players in the game

Yeah, I just ran a super fun 9p game that probably wouldn't have been as fun had we waited for 12, and I've had really fun 7-8p games on this server. 12 isn't some magic number 🙂
Agreed with what Cedric's saying though - it seems like it'd be hard to implement for Dot, and might result in STs turning players away so they can run smaller games to get their cooldown down, which is definitely toxic
I think my all time favourite game was a 9 player game. It was calmer and I feel like it’s a lot easier to have the floor spread evenly
Ran a 9-player SnV that had preceding discussion of “oh it’s quite town favoured cause you know the Minion etc”; proceed to see Cerenovus make their demon mad to fake twins, gets to final 3 with a Barber swap 50/50, goood calls the barber swap correctly, wins, everyone’s celebrating, Steven Medway was there 😎
I think this Suggestion Thread ties in with general themes of encouraging our player base to not think 12 Full Players in a Pickup Game is the only way to play- Travelling, Scheduled (cough next Tuesday cough shameless plug), Smaller Games are all fantastic ways to play
I can't tell if people are agreeing with this suggestion or hating it
It’s not something we can realistically code into the bot anywhere near the immediate future. And smaller games can also be a ton of fun
I don't see why it'd be difficult to code. At the end of the game, simply have a bot ask how many players there are and adjust the cooldown accordingly :p
imagine this: scheduled smaller games
now that would be awesome
The bot already has tons of problems we haven’t been able to tackle yet, and how does we make sure this isn’t abused?
I, for one, am not agreeing. And reading other people's comments I think they are mostly commenting on the sentence "STing for 7 players is less fun than STing for 12." Implying they don't mind smaller games, as they think those are equally viable. So between agreeing and hating, probably hating.
abuse elsewhere (overtalking as an ex) has already been occurring, it's not like we're short of that either. But as well, though we shouldn't deprioritize fixes, it also doesn't mean we're not playing
It also kinda sux that every suggestion I've posted get's shut down without ever being validated
There is a fable for that, how you handle the fable is up to the st. If it gets really bad, make a ticket about it.
Also that is a weird equivalency to make. Saying overtalking is as bad as people lying to the bot to st more often.
I didn't think that abusing the bot would be an issue, it would be a failing of our ticketing system if you're suggesting that we couldn't just ticket someone to fix that abuse
Please stop pinging me, I'd burn this thread down if I can, but there's no such function on discord.
I like this idea, because I think more storytellers should run sub 12 games. Sadly I dont think the bot could handle this
Smaller games are fun but storytellers wont run them, so I understand Alains suggestion of making an insentive to running them more frequently. I can also see how the bot couldnt handle it tho. Hopefully we can work on changing the narrative from 12 player games being superior
I understand this is pinging you, which you asked not to be, but i wanted to explain that in suggestions and other big threads, people have to ping what they are replying to, for everyones benefit, so they can follow the thread of conversation. You can disable receiving pings for it yourself.
Disagree, anytime you reply to someone you can remove the option to ping a person. Like this reply, it does not ping.
I gotta be honest, i personally wasnt aware of that
