Hello 😎

Lizards is an experimental homebrew, where each player submits a character for each type of role (TF, Outsider, Minion, Demon). Each player is assigned a character type, and then the storyteller "mutates" the ability into a fully functional ability within the Lizards game. #1064690145904840744 message

Acceptable characters are anything TPI has officially released, including fabled and travelers.

This is at the very top of experimental complexity, if you wish to play or are interested, please make sure you are fully able to commit to the experience. This script is not suitable for new players to text or BoTC in general.

I also have high activity expectations for this game, if you join you will be expected to play for ~1 hour+ each game day

This game will start on the 21st of October.

Gardener is in play... potentially literally. Players will only be assigned character types / alignment randomly, or without me directly picking it

Because lizards is incredibly setup heavy, I will be locking in signups in five days, on the 12th, and I will be requesting all lizard picks to be in by the 14th. Please take some time to read over some past lizards games, and to take a look at the wiki or whatever resource you choose to come up with your 4 picks.

We're currently over 12, so I will be assigning priority by the standard I mentioned above. Those in least games first, then those with good history of activity, then finally those who have not played my games recently.

Further clarifications / info:

  • You can choose any officially released characters for your picks. They can be base 3, kickstarter, experimental, fabled, travellers, etc. Rule of thumb is "if it's on the wiki, you can pick it"
  • You can choose the same or different characters for each role type.
  • You don't have to pick a townsfolk character, an outsider for an outsider, etc. Although you can!
  • Please DM me whenever you have decided your picks, I will be requesting everyone pick to be in on October 14th, in one week from now.
  • DO NOT SHARE YOUR PICKS TO OTHERS PUBLICLY OR PRIVATELY. During the game, you will be able to claim what you have picked, but until the start of the game, keep them confidential.

Two quick updates:

  1. I've decided that I will be doing a single 12p game, if you wish to drop to let others play please let me know (since I cannot accommodate everyone)

  2. I will be updating my activity requirements to be more in line with what will be needed for this game:
    You will be expected to check in multiple times a day, spending at minimum 1-2 hours per game day on whispering, keeping up & chatting in townsquare, nominations/votings. As always please be aware of your own activity and your current commitments.

    You wake with sirens blasting, a splitting headache, and not a second to think as screaming and an undescribable static sound shake through the spaceship. 
You rise from bed, falling over onto the floor as your body wakes it's internal processes.Your headache gets worse. The air feels thin, the ground feels cold, and you feel like shit.

    Gathering your footing, you push yourself off the ground and onto your feet, you aim towards the door and feel a shift. Not a shift in the air, in the light, or the temperature, it feels as if time and space itself is shifting. 
As you tread towards the door the door gets farther away, every step you take feels like an additional infinity further than the one before it. Your arm starts to get heavy. 

    And then, time stops. The air is still, your headache ceases, and nothing exists but you, your hand, the door.. and the ever growing void that now slowly creeps across the large glass panel in the door. You see stars, an infinite amount of them with infinite detail in this void. Surrounds it is this purple and gold haze that has this warping affect, akin to a black hole. 

You stare at it forever.

    An eternity passes, each eon the celestial anomoly seems to move one iota towards the end of the hallway. It begins to exit your field of view, and you can feel *everything* begin to start happening, your breathing begins to happen once again, you experience your eyes blink for what must be a decade. Time happens, and every amount of time that occurs it decides to occur more. You inch closer and closer to actually being alive. 

You crumple to the floor, and fall unconscious, no longer feeling like yourself.

I will be getting the channel in about 12 hours 🫡. Some information regarding timing & the game:

  • "Setup" will likely last a 24-48 hours, as I finish polishing everything, and prepare flavor for everyone. As well as let kibitz provide any last minute input.
  • This game will probably be a bit slower than my average game, as I will definitely need the downtime 😆
  • A handful of you are in a handful games atm, it's a dead horse and I will continue to beat it, please ensure you have enough time to fully commit to the game, 1-2h+ is a lot more intensive than it sounds.
