Mirage

[Outsider]

An extra rule is in play, even if dead. Each day, if you guess it, you lose your ability & learn this.

The Mirage adds a rule but has a chance to remove it.

• An extra rule is in play. This can be anything such as “Evil executees poison their good nominators” or “Evil players wake together.”
• Each day, the Mirage may guess what their rule is publicly or privately. If they guessed correctly, they lose their ability, and the rule is no longer in play.
• The Mirage learns if their guess was correct.
• The Mirage may only make 1 guess each day.
• If the Mirage dies and they did not guess correctly, the rule stays in play and they may no longer guess.

How to Run:
While preparing the first night, decide what the Mirage’s rule is. Follow the rule accordingly & use the ✵ reminders if you need to.

Each day, the Mirage may guess the rule once. Tell them if they were correct privately. If their guess was correct, the Mirage loses their ability - mark the Mirage with the NO ABILITY reminder. The rule is no longer in play - all of its effects stop immediately.

The [redacted] will only [redacted]. If the player tries to [redacted] during [redacted] or when the [redacted], the [redacted] will not spawn and the item will not be consumed.

This may or may not have any correlation to the character. (it doesn't)

Crawler

[Minion]

You know an alive player: if 1 is executed, they learn you're in play. If 2 are, your team wins.

The Crawler punishes the town for executing the wrong people.

• The first time that the player that the Crawler knows is executed, they learn that the Crawler is in play. The second time, the Crawler’s team wins.
• The first known player that’s executed, only learns that the Crawler is in play, not who it is.
• Only the currently known player is susceptible to the Crawler’s ability. Previously learned players don’t count.
• The known player does not have to die by execution for the Crawler to use their ability.
• It doesn’t matter who nominates known players. If they are executed, it counts.

How to Run:
On the Crawler’s 1st night, wake them and point to an alive player - mark them with the KNOWN reminder.

If a player marked with the KNOWN reminder is executed, mark them with the EXECUTED reminder. That night, wake them and show them the Crawler’s character token. If a known player is executed, and the EXECUTED reminder is already placed, declare that the game is over and that the Crawler’s team has won.

Each night except the first, if the player marked KNOWN has died, wake the Crawler and point to an alive player - mark them with the KNOWN reminder.

Soul Binder

[Fabled]

During setup, name 2 characters. Both are in play, or not at all. Named Outsiders might replace Townsfolk.

The Soul Binder can bind 2 characters together, possibly changing the setup.

• If your script has no starting good information, or you’d like to perhaps give the evil team an extra boost at the start, you can use the Soul Binder. All players will know which characters are bound together and so it can kick discussion off and avoid leaving the players with nothing, come the first day.
• You can also use the Soul Binder to include Outsider manipulation or character dependency to your script. If a soul bound Outsider character is in play, then it might have taken the spot of a Townsfolk & increased the number of Outsiders. (It’s worth noting that if 2 Outsiders are soul bound, they can both replace Townsfolk). Or perhaps if you only like having 2 characters together in play, then you can soul bind them.
• The Storyteller declares that 2 characters are either both in play, or not at all. During the setup, 1 cannot in play without the other. After setup, either character may come in or out of play on their own.

How to Run:
At the start of the game, declare that the Soul Binder is in play. Add the Soul Binder token to the Grimoire. Declare which characters are bound together by the Soul Binder.
