Hi everyone, after a discussion in one of the text-game-general threads about conflict, and some post game discussions I've been involved in where the topic has been raised, I've written a comprehensive and suggested guide to handling three areas of conduct: conflict, emotional bleed, and emotional manipulation in the context of BotC.
At the moment, there is no formal guide from TPI on how to ST, so the art of ST’ing is somewhat seen as akin to a tradecraft, passed down from experienced to newer STs. Not all STs have access to conflict resolution or emotional handling resources in their day to day life, and some STs may not have a role model or mentor they can reach out to in the heat of the moment so I hope that the tips and suggested escalation pathways here can help STs (and players) manage these issues.
Please note that the suggestions in the document come from aggregating advice from the community over the years I have played here, and from referring to online resources. These are by no means rules, only suggestions that no one is obligated to follow. For qualified advice, please reach out to a professional.
Please send me feedback if you find this document useful as a player or ST, if there is anything in there you think should be changed, and if you would like to see the topics expanded.
