But I did do a custom with Godfather with another group where uh oh Godfather kill N2 after the Mutant went boom D1. And that Godfather kill did end up saving evil’s ass when they basically got caught but good needed two executions to completely clear the world

people can and should refuse to self-nom in those metas...and if everyone else thinks they're evil because of it, again, that's a social problem that the Storyteller should be addressing, and from a strategy perspective, players are best served actually trying to find evil and win the game rather than play this weird side game of hampering nominations

Spent role meta is one of those things that half the time is honoured in the breach rather than the observance, though also I don't think there's a singular "spent role meta" (e.g. the arguments for trying to mechconfirm extremely powerful YSKs on a loud minion script are different to those for "let's execute the recluse for no reason, which is pure negative utility", even though I don't personally much like doing either)
