I just wrote a long draft explaining the story but I accidentally discarded it so take my confusing summary and some paragraphs I wrote and give feedback on the idea if possible 😓

ONE
In a post apocalyptic world, Mura Lee is gifted indefinite chances to save the ones she loves. With the goal to help them survive for two years, Mura is sent back three days in the past every time someone important to her dies. But, after her fifth failure, the events as she knows them is thrown into chaos. Monsters she’s never seen before attack out of nowhere, and every time she regresses back three days, the deep voices that have been following her slowly start counting down her now limited attempts. With every life lost and every new problem, it’s up to Mura and her closest allies to protect the world before the number one turns to zero.

if you have any questions you may ask them below. I only came up with this idea last night so there may be a lot of plotholes and bad ideas. if there are, please inform me, I’d appreciate them. you may also comment on my document for more specific feedback/details. thank you :D

So I like this concept, I'd like to know more about the mechanics behind Muras' abilities, does the timeline become more chaotic the more they go back, or is this something that just happened to occur now? Also Mura failed, but what triggered that? Dalan seems fine, of course this is your first chapter, so this might be explained more. I like it though, good descriptors, very intense from the start.

thank you! sorry for the late reply lol
anyway Mura’s abilities all stemmed from Dalan getting her name engraved on the sacred inter-dimensional sword he uses. this got the attention of two gods who felt that she should prove her worth since the sword was very valuable religiously (though they also wanted some entertainment). that’s when the time loop/regression “blessing” was granted. the timeline of Earth is different than the gods’ time, so they simply have Earth’s timeline rewind over and over. there’s no alternate universes or anything
then the next thing is what this time loop would be used for, which is saving the friends she made on her first attempt at survival. they felt that proving her worth by saving others’ lives was importantly since the name engravement was worth much, much more than Mura’s life alone. plus, they wanted to see her suffer—again, entertainment. so Mura had to keep who’s important to her alive for 2 years until Dalan can restore the world, or else she’ll fail and be sent back to the start again

thank you ❤️

the most difficult thing is trying not to make it like other regression stories tbh, all of my favorite stories fall under the same category so I don’t want to unintentionally copy them 😭 we’ll see
