What if you began it as them saving someone as if they were the hero but use somewhat questionable methods to do it? Everyone thinks they is a hero and they do too but slowly their methods get darker and darker until the end?

Ooo I like that, I also asked my cousin (she writes this stuff) and she suggested like them being in the classroom and they are the only one who answered the question, and they take it as a compliment. I said to her the character is a goddie too shoes

If you don't know how to start, then don't start at the beginning.
Just picture a scene with your MC doing what he does naturally and see where it leads.
You may have a few scenes that you know will happen, so write each one of those (and keep notes on 3x5 cards).
Then shuffle the cards around to make the story flow.
At that point you'll probably have figured out how it all starts!
