I'm trying to get my drivers license or i guess permit first but i have no clue how any of it works. Do I have to take an online test or in person test? How would I get ready to even drive? Do I have to pay for classes where I drive with an instructor before I do the driving test?

If you go on the dmv site youll find all the info you need
For me i went in person to the dmv for the permit written exam which was done on a monitor but my friends who got it after me were able to do it at home on their comp
You just have to google some prac questions and do them

For the road test - i paid for 10 driving lessons w an instructor . He taught me a lot of pointers of what the testing instructors look for
You have to exaggerate a lot of movements you wont do when youre actually driving

Usually paying for driving lessons is the way to go cuz most shady places give the pre licensing exam certificate without actually watching the video

And they did all the scheduling for the actual road test, used their car etc so thats what you have to do on your own if you dont take lessons

Well it’s pretty easy to schedule but you need a car with someone 21+ with a license
I believe first two scheduling is free

I got my permit before covid so it might be different now
