Is there a way so that recipes drop at your actual level rather than your SK/Exemplar level so that they're actually useful to you? Enhancements that drop during Rikti are correct level, but the recipes are all 50, which I won't be able to use for a while.

Hmm, I have the reverse problem. I can't get a low level Synapse recipe from the TF because I'm 50.

I have long been wishing for a way to de-level enhancements/recipes. My only solution in the meantime is to lock a character at the level I want recipes for.

#

Or a way to tell the game 'ignore my character level, give me recipes of XX level instead'.

The only way to get them at level is with merits or run a group at your level. I'd suggest invite people to take part in the contact arcs for your character. I know Quinch and a few other folks run through the different mission arcs, often getting people to team up.

I understand that's how things work now. My question is 'why', or can it be changed so they drop like Enhancements, which drop at your proper level rather than your SK level.

Why?

Critter drops are awarded based on your effective combat level. Your actual level is overridden by your effective combat level when you SK or exemp and becomes the level of the team leader or the level of the task (for those occasions where the task overrides your level).

In fact, all rewards follow this level-based structure. That's why XX Storm cannot get a low level Synapse recipe. When the choice is presented, the character is no longer exemped down to the level of the TF unless the team leader is within the level range.

There may be a way to override that setting in the reward tables for recipes to work like enhancements, but i will need to dig into the reward code to verify.

I literally followed that statement with acknowledgement that enhancements have an override applied to them...

Ah, sorry, I understand now. I thought you had misunderstood and were saying both needed to be overridden. Yes.
