#Masterminds : Epic Pool Pets

It always bugged me that other AT's have the option to choose Villain epic pool pets meanwhile masterminds were excluded from this. I have several propositions to make ranging from modest to more extravagant.

At a bare minimum, I would like to suggest that villain epic pools afford MM's the opportunity to grab a boss/tier 3 epic pet. This would help increase their survivability and damage output. Considering MM's specialty are pets, I would take this one step further and remove, or increase the duration of the epic pet.

The more extravagant side of my proposition would entail several areas of improvement. Ideally, the elemental epic pools would provide a corresponding elemental pet(s) such as imps, snowmen, etc. Singular, or Plural.

To really push the idea, one could select a singular DPS, Support, or Tank Pet(s) from that particular epic, giving them flexibility to build for different activities. Or, they can call 1 of the 3 classes at a given time to help fulfill a need within the team structure.

Lets expand on this by discussing more on this topic.

Masterminds, in general, are something that I feel need a review and expansion. Unfortunately, they're also complex (to my understanding). Existing MM epic power pools aren't at all bad given they have a very effective armor power in them to help surviviablity, and really that's the only reason I take them.

To specifically comment on your suggestion, I suppose I neither support nor deny it. I've long been a proponent of an AT that has a single strong controllable pet, rather than a horde, and alas we just don't have that. Synergist exists, but was shot down (I believe it was considered too similar to Guardian?). Regardless... I suppose we'll see what others think!

Certainly. I'm not advocating for the removal of MMs, nor changing how they fundamentally work. Just a meaningless wish of mine.
Another thing to consider is that the villainous EPP pets are... pretty bad, by and large. The best tends to be the Blood Widow, but she's incredibly fragile what with being a melee pet and will usually die long before her actual duration expires. The Mu Striker, in particular, is absolute dog dookie (likely a collateral of everything related to electric blast).
I don't think it's bad to add EPP pets to MM's, but I also think they'd be bad power picks 'as-is'.

They're bad no doubt, but an MM's strength tends to be power in numbers. The IO's that help buff the squad would give them a boost.

Yeah. Heavens know that's the route you go if you want a Crabbermind.
