I'm curious if people are open to the idea of removing the recharge from rest.

It's a power that's mainly used at the lower levels and I personally can't think of a good reason not to remove the recharge - but I'm not always the best about identifying how changes could be problematic and therefore I'm open to hearing about why this would be a bad idea.

I don't see any real reason why it would be problematic. It's downsides already leave you a sitting duck if a random patrol happens by you.

The only benefit for it to keep a cooldown of some sort is that it forces players to learn how to manage their endurance.

yeah idk -- I feel the pain as well, but I think that's on purpose. This change would make it so that endurance management is entirely focused on the beginning/regular end usage during high combat per encounter, and less on like, how your end gets used over the course of a whole mission. I would bet that if devs were to build CoH from scratch today, but still use enough of the same basic mechanics, you might see a quicker recharge on rest? but anyway I worry about meddling with the balance too much there. Can the issue you're facing be dealt with increased usage of blue isnps? (which, without funding your lowbies from an incarnate main/alt, might be kind of expensive inf wise)

shakes fist at self-rezzed hordeling berserker Yeah... plenty of downsides.

I really can't make myself argue for or against it. Like on HC it's got just like a 30s cool down IIRC. It's fine.

I think it works best as is, with the ability to slot enhancements to reduce recharge time and whatnot. The recharge means it has to be used sparingly, before or after a big battle, which is exactly when you would want to take a breather in real life.
